how do you extend the front brake wire and front brake fluid cable
The brake only has two wires, they are really easy to extend! For the brake line I would replace it with a new, longer one. Personally, I wouldn't trust any sort of extension for that.

Merry Christmas Brother and a happy and prosperous new year . I'm watching the vid on the big screen and typing on me tablet ..loo. boy was there some carpet and insulation under that flooring .. you more than likely just halved the weight removing that lot lol ..its always great if there's anything to salvage or repurpose in any build but I reckon your gonna struggle Van's gonna look great stripped back to just metalwork that said it is going to look crap until all the shit and rusty bits are removed. And sadly I hope it wasn't used by some aged folksy group with a horn and lousy vocalist lol
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too! Haha, yeah! I will put in some kind of insulation and carpet and stuff, but always nice to start clean! Especially considering all the rust I found. As you said, I'm guessing I will have to make a lot of my own stuff for this build, but that's half the fun! Haha, maybe it's better to not know what the van was used for? 😅
@@HeavyMetalParkingSpot a firm called dodo does a great sound deadening pad material super sticky and foil backed. cuts with a knife or scissors . Becareful on insulation try not to use a glass fibre based product . Older van using this suffered badly due to water retention

For this you are a god amongst men!
Haha, thank you! Glad you found it useful! Let me know if you make something badass with it!
when I think boogie van my mind goes to either psychedelic colors and patterns or some sort of fantasy battle scene painted on the side or a combo of both, and shag/fur interior is a must, that van is gonna be rad!
Haha, spot on! Somewhere down the road I should probably get it airbrushed! Thanks, glad you're excited as well!
Nice video !
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
i would say keep the bottem half of the interior plain and pactical for hauling motorcycles and the bed. and put like wood or vinyl on the top half (furr gets dirty fast). and make it purple
That makes very much sense! It has to be practical as well. Purple is definitely one of the colors I'm seriously considering.
White
Just plain white or any graphics to go with it?
No wool strait fur and shag carpet BABY 🤘🤘🤘
Haha, yeah, I like the sound of that! 🤘
Deep metallic purple...
That's an awesome idea! I really like that!
This is so exciting! Can’t wait to see what van trend you start with this project! How about a GTA Vice City sunset vibe 🌇? Love the sound of the V8! Are you planning any mods on the engine?
Haha, thanks man! It would be cool to be able to start a trend actually! 😂 Oh, yeah, I love Vice City! Another idea to add to the list. I know, right?! Not really. At the moment I just want it to run as smooth and reliably as possible.
Cool video for such a dry topic.

There is room for 4 Savages in the beast... Greetings from the custom bike show in Bad Salzuflen my friend.
Oh yeah! 🤘 Awesome! Did you find anything you liked at the show?
@HeavyMetalParkingSpot My favorite is the "Starbridge Bobber", a Savage which was rebuilt by the Hamburger Horde. The finest work was auctioned for a children's hospice. Then the "patchwork bike" from Hesse's Customcycles. A Honda Shadow that was built exclusively from donated parts as a memorial to the children who lost their fight against cancer. These were two huge affairs of the heart with so much creativity, courage and commitment. The two live biker build-off shows were great fun. One on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the "Simson Schwalbe". And the big European Biker Build Off: Vhard Motorworks from Poland vs. USM Motorcycles from Germany. In my opinion, the Polish Harley conversion was the clear favorite.... I was also fascinated by 3 other Savage conversions.....🤪🤩🍻
@@michaelelse9328 I had to look up all the bikes you are mentioning and they really do look amazing! So cool to be able to go to a show and actually see Savages and Shadows. Up here in the north it's mostly Harleys at the shows. Really sounds like you had a great time! Now I'm longing to be able to go to a custom bike show soon as well! 🤘
@@HeavyMetalParkingSpotOh thanks for the interest my friend and yes, I had a lot of fun for 2.5 days with all the bikes from all the manufacturers.... Where do you go in Sweden to look at custom bikes? Norrtälje? I can't wait to see what you conjure up from the Chevrolet....

well I can keep it short: the beast only lighted his red brake light ... thats all ... pfff round 6: knock out again.. I have a question: I cut (in the beginning) the 3 yellow wires. (and lost/forgot how to connect them) ... Is it possible that I didn't connect them in the right way and keeps the beast in a coma? I somewhere read it didn't matter (otherwise why are they all yellow instead of red/white/blue ) but I would like to hear your opinion about this... (I now am going to make a "new" harnass with your bare minimum diagram... hopefully this will wake him up. Thanx for the help, again... 🙂
You are right! The order of those yellow cables doesn't matter and it shouldn't keep your bike from firing. It sounds like a good idea to start over with the bare minimum. Let me know how it goes!
ooh wanted add 1 thing! ALL chains stretch some at first !!! then last like 3x moreeee .....like 10k on this bike.. bet it go 40k more .. before needs new chain.... dont throw out a 1st time break in chain .. ! bro... 2 down !!!!!!! chevy 350 truck .. 5k ..r tighten chain/last 300k.. see... best engines = no chain /no belt.. run on sun gears like directly in teeth to teeth !
I think you might be right! And I agree with the no belt = better. 😅
been rideing 2nd s40 savage : got it 1200$ ..1 yr ago.. 7k miles.. was in need new tires/bearings.. lube in the speedo shaft! alot makes small noises.. but 10k miles on it now and timeing chain slapping ! im do the mod today.. hopes no need new chain.. soon im got to pull motor / valve covers /plug in middle .. im leaking oil and burning oil... they say : gasket maker silicone is substandard and dries -out- cracks... 650 red is my go too! that chit is the bomb...... although - be aware!!!!! danger!!! 3x times before i learned the gasket gave close clearances and 2x spaces in there.. if no gasket / just silcone-- need take 1 those spacers (washers ) out!. everytime i tightened side cover it got too tight and wouldnt change gears .... lol. weird huh? buts truth
Interesting! I've never heard about that problem with the cover being too tight. What spacers/washers was it that you had to remove?
Haha... Man.. I TOLD YOU: you are my Guru... I. will mail you tomorrow, tell you how things are (aren't) 😂. Laterz
Haha, thanks man! Looking forward to it! 🤘
Amazing video. It helps a lot to have someone explain and show everything so clearly. Once I understood how the different parts work together wiring became one of my favourite parts of building the BMW. High quality supplies make a huge difference. I still remember our first call before I started my wiring process. Thanks a lot for making such great content!
Thanks man! I totally agree! I'm one of those weirdos that actually enjoy the wiring. 😅 I remember that call as well, and you've come a long way since then! The wiring jobs you do now is really professional looking! Thank you again! ✌️
I did a simmilar wiring job but i scrapped the turn signals, horn, hazard, odom and just kept the neutral indicator loght. I think you may want to reconsider having the engine stop/killswitch on there -- im assuming you removed it because you went to keyed ignition? It is handy to have in an emergency.
Turn signals and horn is also great to have in an emergency. 😉 Kidding aside, I think it's a good idea to keep as much of the safety features as possible, they are there for a reason. But you know how it is! 😀
Wow... this is absolutely useful. I have an ls650 in parts lying around here and i do not have the original harness. With this information there's a chance to get this thing running. Thanks a lot...
I'm glad you found it useful! I hope you'll get your bike back together!
Worth the wait brother .. received the notification at work had to wait till I got home lol ... a great way to describe the various versions to use . Ultimately a wiring harness can be as basic as it needs to be or as complicated as you want to make it . Its always been the ultimate fear with many that they cannot fathom the intricacies of a loom . Yet it's the basics of 1 circuit going from power to negative . If its looked at as that it's simply1 wire or 2 doing the task its required to ie headlight ..power from battery or fuse to switch to headlight back to negative or earth jobs a good un .. Clymer manuals in my opinion are more informative than the Haynes variety where they rely on the person actually knowing what they are doing first ..and seem to miss a few of the important bits out .. Great narration as always
Thank you very much! You are right! Most components of a motorcycle are actually really simple to wire. For me it always helps to remove as much as possible and then add back in what I actually need. Agree on the Haynes vs Clymer. I've always found Clymer easier to follow as well. Thanks again for hanging around!

Nice job, you did well. I have a Suzuki DR650 I'm turning into a semi-chop road bike. I have a 14lt diamond style tank I bought in 1977 for the Honda chopper I built. Been trying to repair a small leak in it with my mig. Failed. Have ordered some tank sealant for it (I live in the bush everything is mail order & satellite here). After watching you I'll shelve any ideas I have of making a larger similar tank until I get a tig.
