Interesting Student Binder. Thanks for sharing.
Anything more recent?
No idea if you’ll read this but did you end up staying in teaching through the pandemic?? GenEd or sped?? Did you pass your edtpa?
Hi 😊 starting my student teaching in the next month. How do observations go with clinical supervisors ? Do they come into the classroom?
Hi! My clinical supervisor came into the classroom and observed me in person. We met at a later time over video chat to review the observation and discuss feedback. In my experience, they use the same observation form each time they come in. It’s also the same form my host teacher used to evaluate me at the end of each placement!
Do you still have your EdTPA documents?
Yes! A copy is in the description:)
Thank you for sharing! Only wish I watched it over the summer to prep for my student teaching which is in full swing. Will check out the TPT site you recommended
I hope student teaching is going well! I would definitely recommend tpt! ♥️
Hi, what state did you do your DT?
Utah!
What does DT mean?
here in 2022 , NEED AN UPDATE lol
Yikes! I am so sorry hahaha. Life really threw me a curveball! I created an update video at the end of 2021, but it was such a crazy time in life, I just put it all on pause! I am LOVING being a teacher! I teach mild/mod middle school. It is the best! On a more personal note, I got divorced this past year and EVERYTHING in my life has changed, so I'm hoping to add RUclips back into my life with all the changes :) Overall, things are going super well. Thank you so much for checking in!
Thank you Katie for sharing this! I was wondering if things/ action plans went the way you had anticipated when making this binder? Did you have to change anything later? I will be starting my DT soon!
Thanks for asking! I just watched a bunch of videos and read through the edTPA handbook to figure out what might work for me :) I think if I were to change anything, it would be to tab and highlight the most pertinent information from the handbook. :) GOOD LUCK WITH DT!
I am a WGU student and alumni!!!!!!!!!!!
GO WGU!
This is very helpful! I just sent my request for PCE placement to the placement coordinator:) ; finished with all the courses and the exams. Thanks for sharing!
Best of luck!!! I'm sure you're doing great at all of it!
Your videos are amazing and extremely helpful!
Thank you! :D
Can I get your templates you used?
Yes! Send me your email address and I'll send those your way (if you still need them)!
This was great! thank you
I just started my DT and I have been feeling sooooo lost!! I spoke with my clinical supervisor today about making my lesson plans, do you have any tips on that by any chance?
I totally understand the feeling! I actually made a video about how I created lesson plans called “Day in the Life of a Student Teacher | How I Lesson Plan & Stay Organized | WGU Student.” My best advice is to start with a standard and an outline and work your way through it! I like to look at teacherspayteachers.com for inspiration!
Hi! Loved this can i have the task print offs you made? Thanks! Jlunz20@yahoo.com
Hi Thank you! Could you please send these to me as well, my email is lmetall@wgu.edu. tHankyou
Do you have any updates? I am starting Student teaching as a WGU student in August!
I hope to make a video soon! It’s been a while, but at this point I’m teaching middle school special education and I went through the WGU Masters program and completed my masters in curriculum and instruction!
Hi Katie, how many proctor exam was in the Master of Arts in Teaching, Special Education.
I went through the BASPEE (bachelor of arts in special education and elementary education), so it was a different program, but there were so many proctored exams. Maybe 20 or so?
How long you think it will take to finish the dual degree? Looking into that program.
I had my associates and it took about a year including student teaching!
Hey girl! This may be unusual… but I am going to student teach in January and have completed al my classes. I also live in Utah and would love to meet up If possible and chat more about all of this. I’ve been really nervous about student teaching and would love to get some insight. My email is teranoelle@gmail.com if you are interested :)
That is so sweet!
Thank you so much! Would you mind sending me the pages, please? acrai94@wgu.edu
I added the links to the video description!!:D
Hi! Thank you for this video! I am defiantly going to use this next year. Quick question... Did you not have to do edTPA because you are dual ELED and SPED?
I did have to do edTPA, everyone going through the program had to do it for certification.
Could you send me the copies at bmerr26 @wgu.edu
Hi was wondering do you know if WGU let's you choose to do student teaching with an online public school?
I know that during the pandemic they have been wonderfully flexible with the way people have been able to do their student teaching. That being said, every situation is different so I would definitely recommend calling and asking!
@@katielynn2858 ok thanks, I will do that, one more question is the work really time consuming?
Sorry late reply! It just depends on how accelerated of a pace you want to go. I did the program requirements within a year and I would say it was pretty time consuming.
Hello, I am looking into WGU and I have many questions. Is there a way we could talk other then in the comments here?
Sure! Send me an email. klspencer0133@gmail.com
ccorti1@wgu.edu Thank you so much for this! I will start in fall 2021.
What brand is the planner?
The planner in this video was just a random one from Walmart. I now use a happy planner and I love it!
I would love these forms. My DT is this fall and I’m in the dual licensure program as well. hbenn18@wgu.edu
Starting WGU march 1st in this program! Im sooo nervous about the student teaching
Hooray! You will do amazing. Good luck!
i loved this video! i also live in utah and i’m starting the same program on march first!
Good luck! You’ve got this!
How many years were you a student here before you got to this point?
I had my Associate’s degree and that brought over 30-something credits (10 courses) but I was able to do the remaining classes (91 credits) in about 4 months! The methods classes were by far the easiest. Student teaching took another 4 months and I had to take a term break before that so it took about a year with WGU:)
Love this! I start student teaching in just over a month (also hoping to vlog it!) and this vid made me so excited:)
can you please send me the forms you mentioned? emma.reyes@wsu.edu
Im currently a college student studying to become an elementary bilingual tescher
I would also love the form if you are able to send them! Great video. I start my DT January. My email is dhern91@wgu.edu thank you!
could you please send me your forms mentioned in your video cavy1@my.wgu.edu - thank you
Seems like a lot of extra stuff. I'm starting January 1st. I guess it seems extra to me because I'm going to be an older male teacher.
Unfortunately, it was not a lot of extra stuff for me at the time. Now that I’m teaching, I don’t need nearly as much!
I would love the form if you have time to send it rsmi315@wgu.edu thank you!
Thank you for the information! I am getting ready to start Student Teaching in January so I am trying to learning as much as I can. I am also a WGU student completing the dual certification Sped/Elem. I would love to know how you've done with student teaching. Update if you can.
Very helpful information!!! :-) How are you doing with Student teaching now?
Thanks for asking! I finished student teaching and my degree! It went super well, I’m hoping to make an update video soon!
Thank you for the organization tips!!!
Where did u get all these worksheets and stuff
I downloaded some from tpt and made some :)
Thank you for sharing this video! I am getting ready for spring DT this January. It is very helpful. Would you please share the forms you created for the binder? My email is npineda@wgu.edu.
New sub I just started my degree with WGU & I’m nervous but so excited. Your videos will be so helpful & ease my mind as I start this journey. Any things you’d recommend me to buy for my classes?
Sorry for the late response! It was helpful for me to have a printer, a notebook, a planner, and a study space! Good luck! ❤️
Question, if only your lesson plans were moved to the folder, how did your teacher have access to your slides and other doc files for your materials? Did you have to grant access ahead of time?
Great question, yes :) I set it up so anyone with the links could access everything and had the folder shared already. She had full access to it from the beginning so anything new in the folder she would have access to as well.
@@katielynn2858 thank you so much! I will definitely be doing this for my student teaching this spring.
Hey currently in the sped program and was wandering how long it took you to finish all your courses especially the degree based courses
I had my Associate’s degree and that brought over 30-something credits (10 courses) but I was able to do the remaining classes (91 credits) in about 4 months! The methods classes were by far the easiest. Student teaching took another 4 months and I had to take a term break before that so it took about a year. :)
I would love a copy! I also go to WGU and start DT in January!
