Arcaedon Luminos
Добавлен 29 фев 2016
Hello there, fellow gamers, this is Arcaedon Luminos, but you can just call me Arcaedon (stupid two name system!) This is mainly a gaming channel, but I sometimes cover TV shows and movies as well. My videos mostly consist of countdowns and reviews, with the occasional let's play, retrospective, or shitpost appearing every now and then. I hope you'll stick around, so you can always see me next time!
Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty Review
I'm continuing to review the Ratchet & Clank Future Trilogy, this time covering the short intermediate entry: Quest for Booty! The title is amazing, but how does the game stack up compared to the prior ones? Find out as I tackle it on its 16th anniversary!

Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle (Media Thread 2024)
Просмотров 8343 месяца назад
Earlier this month, I introduced a new video series called "Media Thread" where I cover my favorite media texts of the year, and the first to kickstart this series is the movie Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle. Haikyuu!! is one of my favorite TV shows, so it's a given that this movie would become one of my favorites of the year, but does it live up to the show's greatness? On the topic of Volleyba...
Introducing: Media Thread (Birthday Special!)

Today's my 25th birthday and I celebrate by introducing a new video series that will hopefully alleviate my channel's inactivity! Introducing: Media Thread. Media Thread videos will be replacing yearly countdown videos of my favorite media texts, but it's essentially the same thing, just more frequent. I hope you're just as excited for this new line of videos as I am! Social media: My Twitter p...
Q&A: Answering Your Questions!

Here it is, my first ever Q&A (Questions & Answers) video! In it, I answer your questions that you posted under my previous video. I spend more time on some questions than others, but I hope you feel like I gave fulfilling answers regardless. In any case, thank you so much to everyone who contributed questions, this video literally wouldn't be possible without them! Not only is there a solar ec...
I Want YOU To Ask Me Questions For A Q&A Video! (Arcaedon's 2nd/8th Anniversary)
Просмотров 1087 месяцев назад
I created this channel 8 years ago on February 29th, 2016, and since that date only appears once every 4 years, it's Arcaedon's 2nd anniversary! To celebrate the occasion, I want to do a Q&A (Questions & Answers), meaning you can ask me questions down in the comments that I'll answer in a later video. I've never done this before, but it seemed appropriate, since the communication between the cr...
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Review
Просмотров 91111 месяцев назад
After reviewing the Original Ratchet & Clank Trilogy, I'm now tackling the Future Trilogy, starting with Tools of Destruction. In this review, I explain why I think Tools of Destruction is an underrated R&C game. There won't be a Ratchet & Clank Month this year, and I released this review outside of November because Tools of Destruction released in October, the 23rd to be exact. I missed that d...
Top 6 Video Games I Played In 2021
Просмотров 492Год назад
In this video I discuss my 6 favorite video games that I played in 2021. I decided to make it a top 6 instead of 10 because I only got really into 6 games that year. Does that mean the year was lacking, or was it a case of quality over quantity? I considered making this video part of Ratchet & Clank Month 2022, but the more I thought about it, the less sense it made, given that R&C is merely a ...
Non-Video Game Ratchet & Clank Media (R&C Month)

In the 3rd video of R&C Month 2022, I switch it up by talking about the non-video game Ratchet & Clank media texts. It's a refreshing topic for me, hopefully for you as well. We're neither in the correct month, nor the correct year anymore, but that won't stop me from getting these R&C Month 2022 videos out! This one took particularly long to finish because I was busy with a big school project....
Top 15 Ratchet & Clank Characters (R&C Month)

In the 2nd video of R&C Month 2022, I count down my 15 favorite characters in the Ratchet & Clank franchise. I usually make top 10s, but I wanted to extend this list to 15 to include more characters. Claiming that R&C Month 2022 didn't go quite as planned would be an understatement, and I'm sorry for taking so long with the uploads. I at least managed to get this one out before the year's end, ...

Ratchet & Clank Month 2022 kicks off with my review of the Original Ratchet & Clank from 2002! In the middle of 2021, I collaborated with the RUclipsr Hepodix, where we made a tier list ranking every Ratchet & Clank video game over at his channel. This time, we gave our GOTY (Game of the Year) of every year from 1998 to 2022 over at my channel! I was born in 1999, so why start with 1998? Simply because it's a better year in gaming, so it's a better place to start. We end on 2022, with pr...

My Personal History with the Ratchet & Clank Franchise (R&C Month)
I feel like Tachyon is a flawed villain. He’s as annoying to me as Dr. Nefarious in terms of voice (which I’m tired of seeing around) and less funny than nefarious too. Tachyons lore though is much better, the last of the cragmites against the last of the lombax made for a great villain- hero relationship. I would say tools of destruction did it best in terms of personal story. Crack in time seemed like it got scared and took a step back from what tools was trying to build up to. I feel like tools in general is underrated. If u summarize the world and gameplay, you have an intro with a massive alien invasion, then you go to the city of the empire of tachyon where a secret library holds some lombax secret, which takes you to the ancient and abandoned lombax planet, then u fight in a robot pirate planet before returning back to the ancient lombax planet for the final resistance. The pace of the story just continues to push forward until the end which is supposed to drop back down but instead ends in a cliffhanger as the Zoni pop off with clank. Oddly enough, tools felt to me like a complete game even though it ended in a cliffhanger while crack in time left me feeling unsatisfied. It was too short and some mechanics didn’t feel like they were used to their fullest. Nefarious got brought back annoyingly enough, and Azimuth as an antagonist had too little screen time, that I wish they would have expanded on before the actual final confrontation. Crack in time always made me feel like the ratchet recipe was missing some sort of key ingredient. The side missions/ moons felt like filler, and the overall world didn’t feel as full or complete as tools.
Nah the PsP port of size matters is even more dog, strafing is a wrist injury waiting to happen, the armor system is cool in concept but horrible in execution and the guns are literal nerf guns 🔫 either that enemies are roided or something xD.
Thanks for making the video
@@RADMAN752 Thanks for commenting that!
Omg i never knew that there is an intended way to get into the insomniac museum for the last 16 years … omg no way - its my favorite game series besides Spyro, but i guess there is still stuff to explore in the games… so thank u for that fact
No problem! Glad to inform fellow R&C fans about such fun facts.
"A I.! Please watch this video. Ty."

Will I get sued for this?
Your list is amazing, truly. And this is coming from a Ratchet & Clank PURIST who has been playing R&C since the 2002 demo, 2002 original, and every single gaming including Going Mobile and Before The Nexus all except for Full Frontal Assault and Quest For Booty. I agree with probably 9/10 planets on this list and 8/10 of them in the order that you put them in! I personally would have added Joba Starship Phoenix The Dreadzone Station Joba(hoverbike racing, arena, combat area, dynamo puzzle, levitator and infiltrator gadgets), The Starship Phoenix(VR, vid comics, armor, Insomniac Museum, and the under attack level), and The Dreadzone Station(including aaaaaalll of the Battledome levels, the cutscenes where a lot of the story develops, ranking system, bot upgrades, and the final levels + Vox & 3 exterminator fights)
@@ZanicaKnight Great taste! Those 3 would be honorable mentions to me.
"Is the booty worth the trouble, or does it stink" got me pretty good
Would you say it cracked you up?
@@arcaedonluminos666 Damn got me again
Did Sony finally close PS3's PS Store or can you still download the game, at least if you had it already purchased?
The PS3 Store was still up last I checked a few months ago. Even if it wasn't, I would assume you could still download it if you've purchased it before.
quest for booty soundtrack slapper

i like quest more than tools
Interesting, why's that?
@@arcaedonluminos666 i really like space pirates and i really dont like space ship parts in tools

@@santerilaisi9183 Fair reasonings. I enjoy ToD's ship segments tbh, and love the rest of the game.
@@arcaedonluminos666 i love tod too but im nit picking
I love Quest for Booty! I remember getting it before i even got a Ps3. Ive been thinking about playing it again on Hard Mode, but still got hours left in Xenoblade 3. Anyway, great review. And honestly a 7/10 in my eyes is really good and not REALLY that much lower than the others. Looking foward to ACIT!
Thanks Smasher! I consider 7/10 just good and 8/10 really good. 8.5-9.5 is more around amazing level, which I find to be a significant jump compared to just good.
@@arcaedonluminos666 Ahh ok. Makes sence
One of my core memories from the PS3 era was asking my parents how much money they spent on Quest For Booty. I got it for yule when I was 11 and I was so let down by how short it was not knowing it wasn't a full game. Asking my parents about the price of the game made them wonder if I found it disappointing. I did my best to still be appreciative and said "It was a lot shorter than I expected". I think they said they paid about 300kr (30 USD) and I felt a bit better hearing that. I was worried my parents had spent a lot more on it and was feeling bad about not having enjoyed it more since it was a thoughtful gift knowing my love for Ratchet & Clank. Memories aside, great review I love hearing your perspective on these old childhood games of mine!
@@VikingOtter Thanks! I don't remember how much the digital version cost, but I'm pretty sure I bought the physical copy for about 200kr at Spaceworld. It might've cost more 2 years prior though.
@@arcaedonluminos666 I think I got a physical copy as well and it’s likely my parents just didn’t remember the exact price or maybe had it shipped. Now it’s too long ago for me to ask and get a reliable answer, but it’s one of those memories that stuck with me more than the game itself haha 🤣
really breaks my heart that they retconned this game's story entirely so they can make the "last lombax" thing work
No way! An Arcaedon Booty Review in 2024? This is truly the best timeline.
It's peachy keen!
Yeah, Quest for Booty is still good and agree with ya, as do feel we could've have Talwyn reslove her missing dad arc and also have the adventure more longer as even Miles Morales' game feels quite longer as that is more a side-game into the two Marvel's Spider-Man games. Your reviews are getting good and very excited when you review a Crack in Time as still is my all time fav R&C game. ^^
Thanks mate!
Great review once again! I remember enjoying this one for its unique setting and wrench tether mechanics. Been years since I've played the future games, I should definitely give them all replays sometime!
Thanks Rero! It may not be a favorite of mine, but it's certainly got an identity of its own.
Really enjoy your videos, great review
Thanks!
When the review is longer than the game
It's like those overly long rant videos
Mannnnn I want that old R&C Humor, I even find the universe to look diffrent to the now games. The robots, ships, guns, ect have a certain look in the previous trilogy. Everything in the new games have a different style.
good number one!
Thugs 4 Less: "If it ain't broke, we'll break it."

God, I loved the commercials when I was a kid.
They're so much fun!
Obani Gemini should also on this list for the vibes, atmosphere and great music
I just fucking hated the racing sections.
You also can’t download before the nexus anymore
Yeah that's a shame. I'm glad I can still play it on one of my old phones. Sadly can't say the same for Going Mobile...
I miss the old R&C logo
Where would you rank Rift Apart?
Number 4, in front of Up Your Arsenal, behind the original.
Wait, people like Tachyon?
We just had this playing at the cinema where I work. It did alright ticket sales wise, but the new BlueLock movie is smashing it
I don't think the Haikyuu movie has done too well in Norway either, with lots of empty seats (I had the whole theater for myself on my 2nd viewing). It did amazingly in Japan at least. I'll have to watch Blue Lock at some point, but I might miss the theatrical release of its movie.
I'm absolutely on your side. I love UYA Especially because I remember great times playing the multiplayer with my sister (Even through Deadlock is because of that Higher Up for me then UYA). In Point of the Jokes i loved the first 2 entries more. The first nails it more showing how Evil Drak is even through how incompetent he is with charisma. The second makes the bad guys (The Stranglers (I really love the german name "Halsabschneider" much more) look like the only real Good guys. Mega Corp is definitely evil with or without Quark as leader. Nefarius is not Evil Funny, He is funny because of his ticks. And Everyone loves the sarcastic butler. This is the game who made quark to nearly my favorite... "Not the Hero" and I'm really sad with what they did to him after Deadlock. I love the vehicles, but I missed the shipsections of 2. I played going commando after UYA even with that going commando didn't feel like going a step back more like the better combination of the mechanics.
Okay I'm not the only one who kit reminds as the friendly giant I finaly starting to complete the weapons. I don't like the new game plus us much as in the PS2 games. And especially in this game. the hardest diffculty level is too hard. you get sniped often in movement . you get attacked from behind (with an evil precision) going down in difficulty is too easy because of the many options to fast clear and especially crowd control). Yeah I love the Weapons. but getting TwoShot from behind in the Arena because I can't Stun/Freeze them feels wrong. The most problem I have with the combat is that the Shots aren't good seen on the background (at least in the arena). So yes I love the Game. but no the combat isn't peak. Not if you want the High Diffculty come from the game and not restricting youself. In that Regard Deadlock did a much better job. I hope there gonna be at least a few New Games + Contents.
The thing I loved the most about the story Was: it is fun to play the story again in New game plus (and has a great new game plus) because you get knowledge and with that knowledge every cutscene gets another meaning
Going commando is my favorite too. It combines the best of the 3. And first game in a good way
Looking forward to it! Also, Happy Birthday🎉🎉🎉
Nice, and thanks dude!

Will my death scene make the list?
Someday 😈 and it WILL be number 1!
This game is a hidden gem.
For sure!
The reason why it’s so nostalgic is because it shows a universe full of imagination and science and wonder! You don’t get this in any other game, the closest thing is the Disney movie Tomorrowland or the movie Meet the Robinsons
I’ve always believed that emperor tachyon is underrated villain He is my favorite villain in the franchise after nefarious I hope they bring him back in the future

I cant pick 10 of my favourite levels so i am just gonna go with my favourite level in each game R&C 2002: Planet Oltanis R&C GC: Planet Joba R&C Uya: Zeldrin Starport R&C D: Kronos R&C SM: Planet Challax SAC: ( I have never played that game) R&C going mobile: (i have never played that game either) R&C TOD: Planet Mukow R&C QFB: (never played that game) R&C aCIT: also Planet Lumos R&C a4o: (i have never finished that game) R&C FFA: I guess hidden city of balkai? (The levels in that game aren't very good) R&C ITN: Planet Thram (Before the nexus doesn't have any levels) R&C 2016: Planet Gaspar R&C RA: also Blizar Prime
Tbh - I kinda agree with the protopet being more underwhelming than nefarious... and I'm a huge GC fan... I can even summarize the few things I think UYA did better than GC... I those being: gadget autoequip, last boss fight, vendor ammo refill and the extra quickslot wheel... But those are all mechanical advancements in my eyes - speaking on the writing specifically - I think the quark and nefarious were fun, but outside of 1 or 2 nefarious scenes I actually prefered quark talking outa his arse in a mr fizzwidget suit... Everytime I go back to the triology, I just can't stop quoting the guy... my favorite line is prolly "I've uploaded the condiments to your naval computer" + lawrence kinda carried nefarious' antics imo And let's be honest, the writing in both those games left stuff to be desired - GC definitely felt like it was cut short and mr fizzwidget being let off like he is feels really outa left field with how his company was build up in the story... And in terms of UYA, nefarious motives being that of racism just seems intensely tonedeaf if we are to believe the backstory that the game itself is trying to tell us (through the quark vid comics - and yes, I recognise that they were made one big joke of basically, even in it's own writing, but nefarious being born a lifeform was never a part that was actively questioned and feels like cannon within it's representation)
I'm not surprised that my questions took the longest to answer lol, great answers all around though! I appreciate the shout-out for being a mainstay too but don't quite remember exactly when or how I discovered your channel; regardless it has been quite a while that's for sure. Also I'll be responding to your answers if you don't mind. 1. It's fine that your only experience with his work is HxH, even as someone who has currently read/watched most of his previous work I was still introduced with HxHs 2011 adaptation. Experiencing his past work makes HxH truly feel like an overall culmination of his skills as a writer; the man is not a one trick pony that's for sure. CA is currently his magnum opus but would you believe me if I said what's going on in the story now is far more ambitious in terms of well, everything? Honestly a lot of the dialogue isn't exposition focused as some claim. There are just a lot of subplots, new characters to give proper roles and depth to while giving already existing characters new roles in the story (ones you wouldn't even expect including a character who hasn't been seen since the hunter exam) while also exploring how nen can be utilized in a completely different context/setting than ever before. Imagine a less action and overall more suspenseful palace invasion with many more factors/puzzle pieces to consider in a different setting; that being a large ship with multiple vertical layers which also ties into one of the themes. It's really quite something and I hope he can finish it someday even if the manga as a whole never ends properly. Oh btw you don't have to read from the start as 2011 is like 99% faithful, chapter 340 starts directly after ep 148 so you can pretty much continue right there if you want but maybe you already knew that and wanted to read from the beginning anyway lol. 2. What happened with people's personal information is definitely the worst part of all of the hack. Still hope that it being leaked hasn't been majorly life affecting anyone up to now and in the future. Also the amount of ignorant takes I've seen due to certain private information like budgets and general game development were terrible. People using data tables having numbers with initially no context to try to make a point when they didn't even know what the numbers were based on, along with development project timeline(s) and a certain fanbase being upset that a new game could potentially take another 5+ years to release, it's truly ridiculous all around. 3. Nothing to really add here besides 100% agreeing with everything you've said. 4. Very well put, PS3 was the "you must buy this console to play this game" machine. Largely influenced due to the 360 as Xbox was worth a shit that gen and forced Sony to go the route they did, of course Sony's early gen arrogance and hard to develop for cell processor didn't help things either. Also funnily enough the PS4 is the only PlayStation home console I've never owned so my perception of cross-gen and it holding back games etc. is different from others. However at the same time people do expect PS5 focused console exclusive game content and understandably so. I do feel this year and onward that games to look forward to with no cross-gen in sight will ramp up more than ever, Sony really should deliver a showcase that's on par (or at least close) to the PS5 reveal event back in June 2020 as that was PlayStations last great showcase tbh though 2021s was decent.
I'm glad you appreciated my answers, and thanks for the detailed followup comment! Yeah, I know you can jump straight to new content in the Hunter x Hunter manga, but I would prefer having read it all, to reexperience the story in a new way and see how it compares to the adaptations. The post anime stuff is sounding real interesting! I hope it all gets adapted at some point, even if the story remains incomplete. I'm hoping for another PS5 Event soon that can rival the 2020 one, that was too good! Not sure how that would happen, but I'd assume Ghost of Tsushima 2 would be involved, maybe a new R&C and even Horizon 3.
Man the thought of a four year playing this game is wild and makes me feel both stupid and old, when I was four the entirety of my gaming experience was sitting in front of a Pac Man machine with no quarters thinking the demo vid was me playing the game, or my baby sitter handing me an unplugged controller and letting me think I was controlling Tails.
