The Years First Wildcamp of Autumn in the Forest of Bowland
I stopped wild camping in winter and windy nights I just save it for summer autum now
Aye it is better camping but I haven’t been so lucky with timing this year 🤣
Mate Vango do make good tents it's not the best as the price is cheap ie the tent pegs and obviously the fibre glass poles other then that it does the job think personally you're going over the top with a criticism a little bit but that's just my opinion !!!!
Fake place 😭😭😭
Nevertheless still pretty cool
So is Stone henge the Cathedral?? 👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🤔🤔🤔
Excellent introduction to your trip!
Cheers and thanks for watching 👌
“I really believe that, as human beings, we have an innate need to explore, to see what’s around the corner.” 🚢🚲🚙
Great video! Visited the highlands and Outer Hebredes last year and it was amazing. Thanks again for sharing a wonderful video :)
Thanks for watching! It’s a beautiful part of the world that’s for sure 👌
Dont you guys face any issues with the floor material of then tent? Mine got quite sticky after a while and has prooven to let moisture through, on whatever is placed on the floor. I sold it for that reason again.
I can’t say I’ve had too much trouble with the floor although I am thinking about getting a groundsheet for it
Coastline is unreal up there 🏴
Yes it’s incredible and the fact you don’t need a plane to get there is even better 🤣
that’s nice brother. I did NC 500 and it was amazing route. May God bless your family
Hi mate, stunning, what an end to the day, that sky looked amazing right at the end.
Yeah definitely a beautiful part of the world, and surprisingly that weather skirted round us
Watching this mesmerised. Lovely video.
Appreciate that, thanks for watching 👌
Gutted!! I went that exact spot yesterday and got kicked off by a ranger.
It’s a shame really but unfortunately there are a lot of people that take the piss and leave rubbish everywhere, I normally try and keep remote or on the top of a hill these days 🤣 hope you managed to get a camp in regardless, another tip don’t set up until near sunset, you can make a big target on yourself getting set up early
"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer." 💰🚐👤
Great share, thanks. Will be doing this on Friday!
Enjoy! It’s a good walk and shouldn’t be too busy 👌
is the footprint a necessity you think?
I would say that from experience with tents that don’t have it, it (kind of) is, a footprint is good for preventing anything from puncturing the bottom of the tent as they are thicker than the inner tent floor and also provides some peace of mind when it comes to my air mat not getting a puncture either
@@LeoManAndMountain perfect thanks mate, good vid! Hoping to gwt one myself
@rhyseckley7655 I won’t let you down 👌
“I like to hike early; it’s the best way to summit up my day.” 🏔🥾🎒
Great video buddy thanks for sharing I'm up there September 😀 👍
Cheers, hope you have a great time, it’s absolutely stunning up there!
Nice review mate !
Thank you buddy 👌
We live here hope you enjoyed it 😅
Aye it’s a beautiful part of England, thanks for watching 👌
On my list for a wild camp is Alport Castles - as is just about everywhere in the Peak District! Must get up there. Nice video mate.
It’s a stunning place I must admit!
I’m new to wild camping even to camping in general having never pitched a tent on my own before. I had one practice run with this in very windy conditions it was simple to pitch. I’ve only wild camped twice so far can easily have the tent pitched in under ten minutes. It would only be a two man tent if sharing with my wife. I share mine with my large dog there’s plenty of room for rucksack my coat and bits and pieces. Other bits like boots I keep in the vestibules. The wild camps I’ve been on I only sleep in it it is very comfy I have to admit I wouldn’t want to spend a whole day awake in it. As for quality mine seems very well made with very smooth YKK zips. Headroom is ok just but I guess it’s a compromise as it is low and stealthy. I was considering various hooped bivouac bags but I needed the extra room for my dog he absolutely loves the tent tries to hog my Camfy P3 air mattress before I get in lol. Overall I really love this tent and for the money really think it is excellent it’s always going to be a compromise of some sort. I do agree with you about the inner door it keeps flapping down, call me stupid but I can’t seem to secure it back properly. I might just stick a couple of bits of Velcro on it. Interesting video I love to see other’s opinions of this tent cheers
I suppose everyone has different preferences and I know plenty of people who love theirs like yourself and it’s great that (hopefully) you’re enjoying Wildcamping, but these styles of tents don’t suit my needs (as someone who’s a bit on the larger side) I kind of knew that coming into this review so maybe there is a negative bias towards it but that’s thing with reviews, they can all be biased, I try not to be but I’m not perfect (just like the video 🤣) I hope you carry on enjoying the outdoors in whatever tent you like because at the end of the day the important part is getting out there and enjoying the outdoors, thanks for watching 👌
@@LeoManAndMountain cheers I'm 59 and definitely on the larger side too lol
Got to love a cheesy flapjack
I hope that’s a typo for cheeky, can’t say I’ve had a cheesy flapjack 🤣 thanks for watching 👌
Really enjoyed the vid Mate. Me and the Mrs are heading to Windermere this weekend so this is now added to the list ❤
Dude, snap! I have the same shirt 🤣 Great video, keep em coming 👍🏼
I do like how you test cheap tosh for the night 👍
I test it so you don’t have to 🤣
does the outer fly have loops in the middle to pull out the vestibule a bit?
Unfortunately not, there isn’t really any way to increase the size of the vestibule
@@LeoManAndMountain you could add a couple webbing loops and seam seal them on the inside. Might help. I'm as cheap as they come, so a little DIY goes a long way.
2 normal size people would fit fine in that tent. Yer a large dude (me too) average size man and woman would fit.
I don’t think they would it is VERY narrow and two small mats wouldn’t fit easily
@@LeoManAndMountain the average woman is pretty small and her mat would be smaller as well. At least, that would make the most sense.
@randyyeager to be fair if I was sharing a tent I would just use a different tent, that isn’t as restrictive like a dome tent 🤣
you keep saying "it's taped and seamed" All tents have seams. a seam is where the pieces of cloth are sewn together. Taped means the seam is covered with seam tape.
Seam sealer liquid goes on the stitched seam and then is taped over with seam tape
@@LeoManAndMountain I don't think most companies take the time to use the liquid.
It's a summer tent. the top of the inner is mesh. You want it to unzip from the bottom to let cool air in and the top will vent out the heat.
To be honest I prefer unzipping at the top simply because of bugs etc
if it's raining, why get out of your tent?
For the inevitable No.1 🤣
@@LeoManAndMountain that's what bottles are for....
@randyyeager 🤣😂🤣 knowing my aim I’ll be sleeping in it
@@LeoManAndMountain lol, yer not supposed to aim...it a "touch and go situation" ;)
Nice sky shame about the tent .i was surprised you did not give up and go home .fair snape looks dry .going tomorrow for a walk
It was a lovely night, and I never really want to bail unless it’s the best decision, but my sleep wasn’t to bad
Got to the top today 1h20mins to the trig .don't know if thats good or bad .legs tired now
@marklet4350 aye that’s about right, bet you had a nice walk today 👌
Weather was great lot of clag .gliders out about 2pm
Condensation tip . Open the door . . You will be warmer without the pint of water you breath out . I started opening up tent even in the minuses , have not looked back since . But all doors are different. On my door there are three zips . Allows me to open up the top . The real test with a vango is the rain . . They are pretty good with rain in my experience. A 35 quid tent is for a festival or a homeless person . . Itll be made to last just for a few years . Sounds like its too short for you . I have a hoolie 2 tent , can highly recommend it . Its my only tent . You need to find a one only tent for yourself . Thats what i got from this . Thanks for your info Hoolie 2 is 2.6 kilos . With everything attached .
I’ll be trying all sorts of tents in the future, it is definitely water proof that’s for sure just the way the door opens would mean rain would easily get it the inner, and it isn’t to short to be fair it’s just my mat is too big 😅
Hello from Ireland
Try sleep on.roll matt knot blow up.bag you get 2man in.there.
Aye, that is true but a roll mat in winter may be a cold for me 🤣
Great vid. Love this tent. Got it for Christmas. 3 wild camps in it so far. Attached the footprint with mini karabiners. All fits in the supplied bag. Normally only peg the 4 corners. Peg the guylines in blowy weather and wrap the lines round the poles a few times. The dynema pegging points are great for adjustment. Permanent mini karabiner on the lamp loop to fit my flex tail pump/light. Blue pole first. Been advised to put some gaffer tape on the sleeving where the poles cross, to stop any wearing.
You’ll have plenty of great Camps in that tent, I haven’t had any problems on my tent when it comes to the sleeving, I think that problem comes from the poles not being completely connected and possibly rips the material, enjoy your future wild camps and hopefully you have no problems 👌
Good watch. Thanks for posting
I want to do my first wild camp .got all the gear can't wait.might try bowland first .only in Hambleton
Absolutely! I personally recommend Fair Snape Fell near the Trig, good ground great views and not majorly difficult!
I have seen your video and it looks like it will be a good starter
Was that a baggie of poo poo
Yes it was 🤣 perks of having a dog and being responsible for all its mess 😂
😂 good man! Love it!
Nicky Nook?
Indeed, a great little walk 👌
“How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains!” ⛰😎🌞
4:32 smaller and lighter tent means more room for beer 😄
Thee's just up the hill from me there lad. Truly blessed to live here.
I do love that part of Bowland
you should come in greece and go for pindus trail you cant imagine what you will see mate .the diversity is huge ! . check it out ! too flat there :P but beautiful greetings from athens
I do like Greece, always fancied Mt Olympus, and I do like a Gyros One of my favourite places is Skiathos, thanks for watching
@@LeoManAndMountain thanks for the info about the tent man !! olympus is in my plans but the pindus mountains are more beautiful landscapes, greece is known for the beaches and the islands but 80% of greece terrain is mountains !!!!! if you want check some videos to take ideas . wish good trekking and have fun
It was even easier where I did it from at the little car park at the base of Skiddaw and I really should do it again from Keswick. Nice to see a bit of blue shy and the sun both sure have been a big miss so for this year. For a small fell the 360 views are amazing, nice one to do with the family too, cheers Alan
I bet it was 🤣 not bad views at all from the top of there, thoroughly enjoyable and it’s about time we had some nice weather 😅
Nice one mate, great to see you all out on a family walk, all the best, hope little Pavey is doing well. 😀🥾⛰
Yeah she’s doing great, cheers Dave 👍
"The farther one gets into the wilderness, the greater is the attraction of its lonely freedom." ⛰🏜🏝
Well Mr Daddy of the year congratulations on that and welcome to your new beginning you're going to love it Leo it certainly looks snugg the tent it will be even more snugg when the sprogglett comes with you dancing around inside the tent tripping over the ropes knocking the food everywhere not to forget the old poohnami Anyway I loved the way you made sleeping in 0 temps and strong winds look and sound wonderful loved the film see you soon
Nice filming of the Devils Pulpit. You've captured it brilliantly. Add me as a subscriber. I flew the Mini 3 Pro through the gorge
I bet that was fun flying through there! Thanks for watching 👌
Hope the bambino is well and you enjoyed your escapism 🍺!!!
Yeah she’s well, and the escapism is most definitely keeping me sane 🤣
