SERVICING OUR 24/48 GEA PARLOUR WITH RMS
Просмотров 4,6 тыс.19 часов назад
We service our parlour once a year and in this video we explain why and how we do it. Since moving into our new parlour back in 2020, RMS have been a great support to us. They are on constant call incase of any issues that may arise but also do all our servicing for us. A massive thank you to Aaron and Fred who showed us what they get up to. Hope you enjoy
Making SMALL BALES OF HAY with our NEW HOLLAND BAILER
Просмотров 22 тыс.14 дней назад
We’ve all heard the saying, make hay while the sun shines, and in this video we are doing exactly that. We don’t always get a lot of opportunity anymore to get our small bailer out, but when we do it’s always a great moment. In this video we are showing you everything we do to make our small bales of hay. Hope you enjoy.
PREVENTING FLIES on our IN CALF DAIRY HEIFERS
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.21 день назад
During the summer, flies come out in their masses and can cause great annoyance and discomfort to our animals, and more than that, can cause illnesses and diseases. In this video we are showing you what we do to help protect our animals from the flies to help keep them happy and healthy. Hope you enjoy.
WORMING DAIRY HEIFERS using POUR ON WORMER
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.28 дней назад
Routine worming is exceptionally important during the summer months when our animals are out on grass. If we didn’t do it, the stock would pick up worms from the grass and it would make them extremely poorly. In this video we are showing you how we do our group of young heifers across the road. Enjoy.
DAIRY FARMERS turn SHEEP FARMERS for a morning.
Просмотров 4 тыс.Месяц назад
On our farm we have probably one of the smallest flocks of sheep that has ever existed 😂 however, despite their small number they still need to be looked after and cared for just like a big flock of sheep would. So in this video we will show you our amateur work at worming and moving our sheep on the farm. Hope you enjoy!
TOPPING GRAZING GROUND on a DIARY FARM featuring HOW TO OPEN THE BONNET ON A MX110 CASE
Просмотров 7 тыс.Месяц назад
The cows have been out grazing now for about 3 months and as they graze over the same paddocks it is important we stay on top of the grass quality to ensure they’re getting the best out of what they’re eating. In this video we are showing you all about topping the fields, the machines we use and why. Hope you enjoy.
SHEETING DOWN CLAMP SILAGE
Просмотров 5 тыс.Месяц назад
Love doing it or hate doing it, sheeting down is an extremely important part of silage. In this video we are going to show you the process from the last load coming in, to the sheet being on the clamp. Sorry if the sound isn’t great quality in places. Hope you enjoy.
SPRING and SUMMER on a 200 COW DAIRY HERD
Просмотров 6 тыс.Месяц назад
Summer is well and truly upon us and with this, the vast majority of our stock is out grazing on grass. In this video we are taking you around all the different groups to find out who lives where and what kind of care they need during the grazing months. With a dairy farms comes a lot of stock so we hope you enjoy meeting more of the clerkenhill animals!

Просмотров 30 тыс.2 месяца назад
Hello, we have been busy the last couple of weeks bringing silage home from the fields ready for the cows to eat next winter. Working together as a family we do all our own silage and this lengthy video shows how we manage it and how some jobs are enjoyable and some… not so much. This video was inspired by Josie’s son Dewi who is 1 years old and LOVES watching tractors, so this video is definit...

CALVES first ever ELECTRIC SHOCK training for turn out
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.3 месяца назад
For our calves to be able to be turned out to grass and then properly managed after that, it’s really important that they understand what an electric wire is and how to follow it. So in this video we are showing you all about how we train them up and why it’s so important for them and their welfare. Hope you enjoy.

They might do a little bit but not enough to cause any issues and if they ever do we can treat it straight away as we see them so often but no on the whole they don’t really suck there at all 😊

Farming is brutal hard work and I have respect for you both that you are making a success of it. I like when the cows lick the calves after calving, giving them her own version of hair gel, the calves hair would be stiff like they had used hair gel. I half expected the calves in the video to puck one of you especially when it was sucking your fingers. Sorry to hear about the whole TB thing.

Because it's a dairy farm and the milk production is the point of having calves. They get the startup colostrum they need (from mom or a commercial replacement) and then they're fed from the bulk tank after the herd is milked. Calves, especially with these loving farmers, get everything they need from their human surrogate "Moms". They don't require constant motherly attention like non herding mammals. They have each other to satisfy their need for herd company. As you can see, these are happy, healthy and well adjusted calves. If they were miserable, they would be bawling, not running about.

It's less stressful for cows and calves than splitting them when they have been together for months as they don't have time form strong bond

Love your accent. I spent to years in England 49 years ago. I use to have small square bales thirty years ago. Bought our first small baler in 1965. Now we use big square bales. Before then we put it up loose. I was just a little kid. We use to put up 30000 bales a year. All by hand. I had big muscles back then. Now it shifted.

I must say lady's, it's quite disturbing to me that you and possibly the rest of your miking team know so very little about the importance of correct vacuum, pulsating, everything that is reasonable simple in your parlour that you've no idea about? Being very blunt, so I'm sorry about that. I did nda at ag college, but picked up all the rest about parlour maintenance, probs as I went over the nxt few yrs. Get on a basic milking machinery course somewhere to help you out. Understanding it all helps avoid, fix probs soon as they happen xx

  • @markdebano944
    @markdebano944 8 дней назад

You make a lot of extra work especially when you have the equipment to do it all. You need to look into a staking trailer. It stacks the hay in 8 bales then dumps them on the ground. Then you stack them on the trailer and never have to touch any of them.

    • @Sistersinwellies
      @Sistersinwellies 8 дней назад

We do have the stacking trailer but because of the size and condition of the field it was actually a lot easier and more efficient for us not to use it 😊
