I took this movie as pure allegory for America's turbulent, virulent, cynical melting pot, where the only thing (barely) keeping us together and functioning are a few beautiful, horseshit myths and ideals (i.e. the Lincoln letter). It's like a cancerous inversion of patriotic Frank Capra movies.

Kurt Russel had another film that came out the same year called "Bone Tomahawk" good flick.

Great Job, siblings. May I recommend Predestination. Not Tarantino, but a great thinker.

If you do watch Death Proof, I highly suggest watching it as part of Grindhouse rather than the separate Director's Cut. It's a great movie, but it works much much better as the second half of Grindhouse

It’s a very good reaction in general! However the edit was lacking. Count how many times spoken sentences were cut off in the middle. It’s very annoying to be honest. Especially for someone who hasn’t seen the film. This film is a pure classic. You could have gone quite a bit longer in the interest of making its presentation smooth!🙂💯

The fact that Jim Carrey released this, Ace Ventura and the Mask in the same year is insane. That's more success than most people's entire careers combined! Jeff Daniels agent told him not to do this film because it would ruin his career....Who's Dumb or Dumber?

When they call the waitress Flo, it's a reference to an old TV show from the 1970s-80s called "Alice" that was about waitresses working in a diner. The show continued in reruns long after it ended, so the reference wasn't quite so obscure when "Dumb & Dumber" came out in 1994.

One of the most unique things about this movie is they are the only two comedic elements of the entire thing. Nobody else says or does anything funny. It's so weird they writers didn't even understand that when they made the sequel

9:26 Sea Bass was played by Boston Bruin hockey player Cam Neely. if memory serves some of this was filmed in Rhode Island and Boston being right next door they wanted a familiar face for locals.

01:39 the first time I remember seeing Lauren Holly was in The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. (1990) I was smitten with her. Just do in image search from that movie of her and you'll understand why. you should be able to tell why from this movie too. (though she's four years older here. which is like twelve in Hollywood years.)

You should watch NO LOOKING BACK. It was made a shortly after this movie, stars Lauren Holly (Mary), Edward Burns, and Jon Bon Jovi. It wasn’t successful when it came out, but it’s kinda underrated.

The movie soundtrack is awesome.

Jim Carrey started getting really famous from In Living Color on TV. He piggybacked that to a movie career. He started as a stand up comedian

I love the bureaucracy aspect of this movie, and though it took me a while to get over the fact that this wasn't the Godzilla I'm used to, Shin Godzilla is creative, treads new ground, and has some really interesting monster designs, . It's also the most terrifying and alien that Godzilla has ever been (at least that I've seen). I do wish that there was a bit more setup/explanation for Godzilla, rather than him just appearing all of a sudden, then evolving at breakneck speed. At the very least, they should've lampshaded it. The "American" woman who wants to be president is ridiculous. They should've just had her speak in Japanese, or at least had her growing up in Japan before moving to the US and serving as a diplomat for them (and just drop the president thing, because: come on). I didn't really buy the way they took out Godzilla. It was too convenient, and there were too many reasons it should've never worked. So I guess I'm a bit mixed on the movie (though not quite as conflicted as I am with Minus One). Overall, I enjoyed it, but the things I didn't care for nag at me.

I think I'm the odd one out on Minus One. The human drama is really good, but I just don't care for the depiction of Godzilla. I don't much like the way he looks (and I really hate his dorsal spines popping out when he's charging up his atomic breath) or acts. He seems too background to me, and I think I would've preferred a post-WW2 movie with some kind of semi-realistic danger they had to deal with. I think I was least into things when Godzilla was on screen. Overall, I respect the movie for what it does right, but it's hard for me to get too excited about a Godzilla movie where I don't care for Godzilla.

You are right. The very end with the bus they were supposed to get on and finally win in the movie. But they stayed true to their character and improved the town thing

I enjoy the show, but it sometimes is unnecessarily gross. I can't watch it while eating lol. It's like a teenager who's always trying to shock their parents.

Dang, this is way too short. Barely got to see the reaction to any of it. Then again this comment is three years too late and from watching your Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs reactions it seem like you've gotten way better. You mentioned having watched Kill Bill though, and I went through the entire list and didn't find kill bill with a ctrl+f or through the google search. Hopefully you can re-upload that because that would be an awesome reaction to watch.

Funny you mentioned Man of Steel. Alan (Reacher) plays Aquaman and Charlene Hubble's wife plays Lana Lang, Clark Kent's love interest in Smallville. So this show is also a reunion of them working together.
