When I started my university in Krakow, I had a Polish teacher, she was from Czech republic and I'm from Slovakia 😂 Now I understand everything, but back then I wasn't that good at the Polish grammar and speaking.

Sometimes we have (almost) same words in both languages but we create (form) sentences differently. For example: Mluvím česky (in Czech), hovorím po česky (in Slovak) ... but in Czech language the word hovořím exists - almost the same like "hovorím". Je mi 36 let (in Czech), but Mám 36 rokov (in Sůlovak) and we have the same word "mám" but use it in other occasions

Very nice video. When "Ř" appears in the middle of a word, as in "potřebuji" or "samozřejmě", is it also pronounced softly? So something like an “Š”?

I’d love to learn Czech and German. I recently found my paternal family and my great grandparents immigrated from trubenz (I think) Austria to the USA in 1880s roughly. And I need to learn so I can search records. I can’t seem to find much on the surname Ohnmacht I believe my great grandfather was born in Olomouc, but I’m not certain if they’re German or Czech ethnicity.
