You know what's really frustrating? The overall plot and subplot had potential. The haunted house and the mystery, though short, was satisfying. I actually wanted to dive deeper into the main plot with Zade and his hunting down these organizations. But yeah…this book is torture porn and I'm all for kink, but this is straight up SA. And the amount of it, is nauesating! I swear you can't come into a chapter without Zade wanting to SA Addeline and doing so. 🫠 i read this and kinda want to read the second one cause I wanna know who was the person holding Zade at gunpoint buuuuut….i think i’ll pass.

I’m so glad I watched this instead of reading this book. I admit, I was almost convinced to read it by the cover and the hype. I’ve had the worst luck with hyped up, popular books lately. The Silent Patient was AWFUL. DNF’ed Normal People because it was so boring and not nearly as well written as my favorite booktubers said. Song of Achilles was okay, but my expectations were through the roof and it didn’t deliver… I’m cleansing my palette y sticking with classics for a while, before trying another hyped book. Anyway, this was so entertaining to watch!

Killer Clowns from Outer Space I don't think would frighten you - it was meant to be too campy and funny, and isn't actually frightening in any way. I albolutely adore/d Labyrinth, one of my favorite movies ever. Not frightening at all to me, but it did teach me life isn't fair. The Hellbound Heart was an amazing novella and movie. Tales From the Crypt (the show) also had some quite creepy episodes - especially if you watched it as a 🐐. I think you'd like the The Frighteners from '97, I believe. Does take some 'inspiration' from real life killer teen couple of the 50's, but it's truly a unique gem. Michael J Fox and Trini Alvarado.

The final letter to the reader is so insidious because it… sounds like something predators say to children they abuse. “Don’t tell this to anyone, this is our little secret, no one would understand our love”. It’s just inexcusable to put something like that on a book that deals so poorly with an unfortunately common issue such as CSA. I commend you for tackling this once more, because my stomach churned just listening to what it entailed. Great video as always and thank you for being so considerate to your audience ❤

The author telling us about their 4 year age gap in the worst possible way was… a choice. Like the 18 and 14 part could’ve been left out, I would’ve much preferred if Callie and Adam never knew each other until the Thanksgiving get together
