Hi and welcome to my channel. My name is Aaron Arizpe and i'm a cinematographer and photographer living in Austin, TX. I like doing reviews of filmmaking hardware that interests me. My goal here is to step up the review game by injecting what i've learned about films into the reviews themselves! Whether thats actually using the photos for a real, planned and prepared photoshoot, to actually filming full scenes and shorts that are straight out of hollywood. Please feel free to contact me!

sounds like a perfect camera lens for the dmv guys
Does this lens vignette on the GFX mount
What a discovery, to chance on this video and channel. Subbed!
what is the tripod you are panning the young lady run on? man what a channel.
Well, no auto focus, I am out.
One of the best lens reviews I have ever seen. Unfortunately it is giving me GAS and I keep thinking of pulling the trigger on it when for the same price I could buy a full frame camera and prime...
Totally agree. I have never seen more sexy review of the lens! Congratulations for the idea.
insane way to split a log
Cosina are world class lens designers, I am not sure anyone else could make justice with the Voigtlander name as they have.
Cosina are probably the best lens designer of modern times, the modern Voigtlander, Leica, Zeiss they are all Cosina creations.
This is the best modern classic look I've ever seen. Everything about this was awesome! Both the film and the look were awesome. I felt like I was watching a lost western from the 1960s
What film emulation lut did you use?
These shots are beautiful. Wonderful location you selected! The crank is the right amount of jank. I got an old Som Berthiot Dmount lens for 8mm Bolex that my grandfather passed on. It has a lever for zooming in as well as a viewfinder in the lens - it's a lot of fun to use.
Does this also cover s35 like the others?
Do they all cover s35? Even the 29mm f0.8?
at the time of filming, this lens was not available for purchase or rental. I have no gone back to test this lens, but I assume that if the 10.5mm and 25mm lenses do (which have the smallest rear elements), then the 29mm almost certainly will work.
way way better than the average lens review. in fact, one gets a bit of a sinking feeling when they realize its actually just a lens review
Congratulations, gorgeous film and brilliant review. I have one of these lens my self, although I have yet to put it through its paces. You just gave me an I idea actually... 😉😊
What's the song that starts at 7:57?
Damn, why am I just finding out about this lens half way through 2024?!?! The video footage made me gasp for air 😮 WOW
Just confirmed that A: Lensrentals carries this and B: you left a review there! I may have to rent one and see how I like it. I'm concerned I won't be able to part with it, and I don't really have that kind of money right now.
this was so nice to watch, super quality, enjoyed lots. Great writing, delivery, filming and editing!!!
stunning work, love it!
So far this is the only English language review I can find on RUclips, which is crazy. I know it's an expensive lens, and I know micro four thirds isn't the most popular system, but there are WAY more reviews of the $7000+ OM 150-400/4.5. At any rate, cool review, now I need this lens. Also, I wish this lens had the contacts like the E-mount 35mm I used to have so the camera could know the focal length for IBIS, and so I could have the exif data.
I used to shoot Sony and had a 35/1.4 Voigtlander, loved that lens. I REALLY want the 17.5/0.95, and this lens looks cool, too.
Beautifully done, thanks for the excellent review! I love that third parties are bringing a bit of different character to the GFX system, like this TTArtisan and the Zhonghyi Mitakon 65mm. There are some super Fujifilm lenses now, but it's nice to have alternatives, even if they are big and heavy. To my mind it makes sense to have the 45-100 F4 for work requiring clean, safe images, and this 90mm plus the Zhonghi 65mm for more characterful portrait work. Time to start saving ;-) PS I think the format's great.
I agree with you about the 45-100 as it is my main workhorse when I need the GFX system. Luckily, with bigger format sensors, more and more lens manufacturer's are beginning to come out with lenses that have full coverage for that size sensor.
Wonderful job and footage. Keep coming back here
I havel all three except the 60 mm
Hi! Thank you a lot! This review is fantastic. I know 25-250 for a long time. I love it! For some reasons I m looking to get it. But thanks you a lot!! Because now I know one more camera. I wanted to ask you couple of questions. 1st - what is the difference between 25-250 like your then 25-250 HR? 2st - what can you say about rolling shutter in that camera? How do you think, is it worse or better then I BMCC 6k pro? or Alexa? 3st - maybe the most tricky question. Can you check you DMs? please =)) Again and again huge thank you for that review!
I have it, I love its lens
this looks so incredible i had to search my like history to find this again because i kept thinking about it.
Hmmm very well done video! Bravo!
Love your format, really appreciate the work going in videos like this, subbed! PS: if you're one of those people that don't like the way their voice sounds and needs to hear this then: your voice sounds great, I would listen to your podcast/radio :)
I appreciate that! I actually don't mind my voice, but wanted to try something new as I had always planned to not be the host.
Wow…what a presentation! Beautiful photography and video production, and that lens❤️👍🇦🇺🙏Subscribed.
Hey, just saw that you have focus rings for the voigtlander Norton, would you kindly let me know which measures are for those lenses ?
I couldn't find any other reviews, while I was hoping for some footage of the 60mm on a GH5. But I'm so happy I came across your video. Loved every second of it and it convinced me... I'll buy the 60mm and I will find another Voigtlander lens to complete my set, so I don't have to find another expensive Sigma Art lens to match my 18-35. Thanks a lot!
Brilliant.
The intro is amazing! Where do you find your music?
Almost all my music is sourced from Artlist
Did I click on a movie ?!
insanely good production quality AWESOME WORK !!!
Thank you!!
Man those first 2 minutes were Branded Ad worthy!
Thank you so much! No paid content here tho haha
and i love these portraits!!!! good god this deserves at least 500k views!!
good god this video is amazing what???!! thanks for the video friend!
This format is phenomenal for short form reviews and thank you for putting quality into all of your content. With regards to the soundtrack, what are the tracks used in this video?
Thank you so much! I don't have the tracks off the top of my head but I'll ammend my comment later when I have them.
Your videos are awesome, and I appreciate each and every one. I can tell you're passionate about what you do, and it shows in your style.
Thank you so much!
Hi! Is this the s35 version of the angenieux 12-120 mm?
as far as I know, it is a true 25-250mm, tho, it was used on a super35 sensor.
I use gh6 + voigtlander f0.96 60mm and 17.5. It’s amazing! I love this camera a lens. In my channel have examples. Thank.
*Update, I bought the s6, 10.5mm has slight vignetting in DCI. Could be a stylistic touch🤷🏽♂
Not much to say. Awesome. Thankyou
WOW!!!! That is one hell of a presentation. Simply incredible. I subscribed. 100%
Do you think is it too much effort to use it blackmagic 4k with 2.6p crop for avoid black vignette? I am thinking about buying this lens because there is a well used 2nd hand in my town but i am not sure...
I think that if you are going to be purchasing this lens, you should absolutely try to use it first. Any seller shouldn't have a problem letting you throw it on your camera first. Good luck!
Nice production, so much effort. You replicated the the 50's style very well, from lighting to clothing, and casting. I applaud you for the terrific effort and production. I almost clicked off though as the first three minutes was very long with limited material to digest. These are all great arguments you present for the lens. But given the price tag and it's abilities and limited versatility, it may be very niche.
