I'm a burnt-out twenty-something making video essays in my free time to pretend I'm a productive individual who's capable of finishing passion projects. Disclaimer: I tend to bring up Buffy the Vampire Slayer...a lot.

This is my favorite video essay of all time. Everything you said was so amazing and interesting. I never found myself getting bored. In just less than 20 minutes youve inspired me a bunch. You're awesome
One of the most cohesive and insightful video essay that I've ever seen, thanks for sharing;)
Everything you speak about is in the movie. so what's your point? Or... you just want to be stupid?
why are you insulting her bc of YOUR stupidity?
So Jenny, what are your favourite musicals of all time, if you don’t mind me asking?
I'm learning to rekindle my creative spirit after college and covid lockdown put me in over half a decade of burnout with some extra neurodivergent trauma for seasoning. Thank you for making this and thank you for the validation tackling the idea that "unoriginal" stuff like video essays and reviews aren't worth making

Hey, 1st essay of yours. Just wanted to say this was very polished and well stated. I think a lot of us are working through the process of meaning making and trying to figure out if our dissatisfaction is manufactured or genuinely should inspire change. Just wanna say props for working through it in public. Congrats on your creative expression!
Tldr, because it's a great damn show

“Don’t let the French man win” fucking killed, just finished Nausea and hated how much it related.
As someone who loves avenue q really great video! I had my quarter life crisis a few years ago and I've definitely seen there's an increase in young adults feeling underachieved. Or maybe it's a part of the human condition. At this point, I'd rather be a dinosaur.
Clicked on this video from my RUclips recommended page, this is the first time I’ve seen your channel but I’m really glad I decided to watch this video. I’m very much in the same place of hating my stagnation but feeling unable to change it, feeling like I came out of my education without a real understanding of exactly what I want or who I want to be, feeling “forgotten by the system”. This video made me feel more normal for what I’m dealing with rn cause it’s what a lot of people deal with. I haven’t really listened to Ave Q since before college but I think I’m gonna after watching this video.
you're my favorite niche youtuber/artist!! i find the way you talk about media very compelling, and you even convinced me to watch inside job. i think that's the impact that shows how much of an art videos are. it kills me how much art especially in fandom is considered content. the things i like about fandom are people connecting and discussing things they liked or disliked. in a word where media is being churned out by studios or cancelled by execs left and right, i think a video sharing about something you find interesting or impactful enough is some of the most important art we have.
“My rocks are anxiety and depression”. Same.
First episode, save his ex from the evil King. Last episode of season 1, save the King from his evil ex.
Another banger video as always
What's the Nathan Fillion quote @6:54 from?
I don't have any witty or profound comment to make, but I figured I could at least let you know that I look forward to your vids. Some have even brought perspective to troubles I've had. I don't know about repetitive, but the day gets a little better when I see you uploaded 👍
The only thing that stood out to me about House was the episode that said asexuality was a problem that could be explained away with tumor. Or the episode where a genius was taking DMX to literally dumb himself down and he started sobering up admits that he thinks so little of his wife that he compares her a monkey.
There’s a reason why fans of the show have nicknamed it “Hate Crimes M.D.” The asexuality episode is a big ole yikes, and the writers act like being a tortured genius is a barrier to entry for basic happiness. That being said, the way it tackles a topic like chronic pain is endlessly fascinating to me. The show is definitely flawed, but I’m nothing if not a sucker for flawed media.
@@JennyCook57 I’m a sucker for flawed media and talking animals
I liked the old school anime reviews, they were thoughtful and relaxing. Especially the ones with surprising strong female leads like Nausica or Porko Rosso.
You should lose the bgm
I got a job. I'm better now.
At least someone around here does😅😊🎉
Also want to say that you are huge inspiration for me and my writing
That’s so incredibly cool. I wish you and your writing nothing but the best!!! And don’t get too discouraged with job hunting stuff-it’s a brutal process, but if you hang in there, something’s bound to turn up (I know that sounds like an empty platitude, but it’s infuriatingly true)

you can no longer watch nomad for free
"You shouldn't watch 'Galavant ' for Galavant. You should watch 'Galavant' for King Richard." SPITTING FACTS.
I eloped this past August, and I'm on my way to finish my bachelors next year. I'm 26 now, but I didn't think I'd make it to 18. I'd contemplated suicide and was set on doing it after graduating high school because I couldn't fathom the idea of living past that. And then I met my now husband. Happiness was always so romanticized to me, it was intangible during the depth of my depression, but finding contentment in my mid twenties put everything into perspective. It does last longer, and it fosters a place for happiness, even if it's still fleeting. I revisit this video essay when I'm feeling unfulfilled, it's a good reminder that a change in perspective is all you need to realize your glass is half full, and that you can always pour more water in.
RUclips kept recommending me this video, so I finally watched it to stop it from trying to gasslight me that I never watched Galavant XD It was a really sweet video though, I enjoyed it a lot. Honestly, it feels almost like a miracle that a show like Galavant exists at all (and that it even got a second season!). I'm really sad that it was cancelled, but yes, at least the ending was a nice ending :) Just... just imagine if we never got the second season and it was left on the big season one cliffhanger T_T
I like your style, this is only the second video I'm watching but you're goooood dude. I love it.
Your Fantastic mr fox video genuinely changed my incredibly goated video
What a love letter to your grandad.
this is the third time I have watched this in the last couple years and it never ceases to make me shed tears
Saying existentialism and free will are integrated is uhhh a Lil misleading.
Well at least Brother Bear- and all if not most of the movies from the 2000s- has the greatest thing that Wish doesn’t have: heart.
The show was canceled and then put on Netflix where it became bigger than it'd have ever been on TV with the way they promoted it.
Want to know something crazy, by the way? There was almost an “Avatar: The Last Airbender” musical. It was being made by a woman named Katherine Lynn Rose on RUclips and got out a fairly impressive number of songs…until Viacom/Paramount/Nickelodeon got wind of it and shut it down for copyright reasons.
Nomad looks like glidedguy
I wonder what will happen now
Came across this video after watching Galavant for the 4th time, I like your analysis and I agree, King Richard is an amazing character, one of my absolute favorites from any entertainment medium. Also love the Avatar funko pops, I have the Zuko and Iroh ones myself.
Excellent essay, you captured the essence of this amazing experience. They named their daughter "Old Dolio". It's just... I'm reading a Miranda July short story collection, "No One Belongs Here More Than You" right now, and she comes up with some of the most unbelievable things I've ever read. Like this movie, they're mostly extremely bizarre, yet strangely touching. She goes into a whole bit about the picture of a whale on a birthday invitation stick on a fridge, and i kinda wished i would've died right there, with this being my very last thought.
Something about the scene where she's face down on the massage table and the tears are falling straight down out of her eyes just killed me.
To think I was one of the few that saw the trailer in ABC of season 1. Saw the season 1 and season 2 in ABC, I LOVED IT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. Especially the first song where it goes "and asked her for her hand, well more like a demand, well more like have his henchmen snatch her" killed me and still does.
Also loved King Richards growth.
I tried finding the soundtrack cd and after checking eBay for a year I found each season disk for 90$ EACH from France. The show is so underrated it’s soooo good though
Uh...i would say the best part about the anthology was The Mercs they stole the spotlight.
I rewatch this serie at least once a year. It's such a fun catchy show and I hope someday SOMEHOW it gets revived as a cartoon musical or something.
Please keep rewatching it on Hulu if possible because it will only stay streaming if Hulu sees it's getting views! I put it on and just let it run and run. Disney (which made it) doesn't care about the show much and kept it off all streaming for nearly two years. So we all need to watch it like crazy iin hopes they see there are viewers!
@@cruz9530 Oh dude screw that, just pirate it mate
Fantastic video essay
I'm okay with it only having gotten 2 seasons, but I would like a reunion where they're trying to stop Madelana &/or save her from herself. Galavant & Isabella load up their 3-7 children on a family road trip quest (making all of the VonTrapp jokes). Tad Cooper is only ever a a shadow overhead, occasional fire, & sound effects, just really lean into the budget constraints. This would also be Sid's time to shine as the hero of the piece.
