I have the Dowel Max and the Jessum Doweling jigs. They are fine, accurate products. The only reason I don't have a Festool is because I don't need one. I don't do production work or large pieces of custom furniture. For those applications I think it would be invaluable. I don't begrudge anyone who has one or needs one. Personally I think the DVD is a nice touch. There are people in rural America who don't have access to 5G internet speeds. So this might help them get started. Good video for this excellent tool.

Where I come from, 1/4" is divided by 4. If those marks represent anything they are 1/5 of whatever those longer marks represent. If they are 1" apart then it would be 1/5th inch markings.

I like the plier wrench more because it is such a big upgrade to the old style adjustable wrench. The cobra’s are good but not as big of an upgrade over regular Chanelock water pump pliers.

@1:24 the actual difference isn't the offset throat giving you access to cut 'longer things' with the 61 02 200's. The actual difference is the location of the pivot giving far MORE leverage to the cutting jaws. The offset adds a (more important?) bonus.

I recently picked up a pair of these and the only thing I've found an issue with is THHN jackets. The oil jacket is too slippery for the nose of the stripper to keep a firm grip on so what I do is when I have enough tension on the handle to grip the wire but before the blades start to move I grab the nose of the stripper with my off hand to apply extra force to the griping anvils. I've found this to be much easier than trying to hold the wire.

Don't buy Milwaukee pliers. They are total crap. Apply pressure, and they are trying to open in your hand. Morons at Milwaukee. Also, stay away from their crappy tape measures. They are only suitable for several uses before they are worthless garbage.

Wow thats crazy, I knew you guys mainly used Torx screws as a standard, were as here in the UK our standard is Pozi, mostly because people are not willing to pay the much higher pricing for the Torx bits. However, when I have used Torx screws, I honestly have not ever noticed them wobbling like that at all, (actually I lie, there was one brand someone got us to fix ply to a floor and they were actually like that, but also was really cheap) so maybe with the higher pricing we have on most of the Torx here, that is why. Maybe if you got more expensive screws they would have much less slop/play?? Also yes, Philips were designed to cam out intentionally, I dont even know why they still use them in construction to be honest, Pozi is a much better adaptation to Philips, though they are still not the best option.

I purchased two Knipex pliers and both needed breaking in. When I held each plier horizontal and released the lower handle the jaws open 30% on one plier and 40% on the second. Even after adding light machine oil there was minimal improvement. I made a slurry of WD-40 and 100,000 grit diamond paste and after 10 minutes of working the handles was I able to get the jaws to open 100%.

Channel Lock is my favorite American brand, then probably Western Forge and Wilde. But getting a pair made correctly with a good fit and finish, especially from Amazon, seems to be getting harder to do. Over the last couple of decades, there has been a noticeable drop in US tool manufacturing quality. Especially when compared to brands i've bought from Japan or Germany. I really don't like when I'm holding a USA made tool that I just purchased, and it looks and functions like the person who made it didn't care or pay attention to what they were making, and just wanted to get through the day. They aren't holding their work to high standards like they used to, and they are still charging high prices. I've had bad issues with 3 pairs in the last 2 months alone. The jaw grinding has been way off, and one pair of nice, long bent-nose western Forge made pair wouldn't even open halfway, as well as being ground to one side of the jaws by 3mm at the tips. Every pair I've received from Japan or Germany has been absolutely perfect. Even the Icon pliers I've bought have had better initial quality. I still prefer USA made, but our manufacturers need to go back to producing quality over quantity like they used to, without charging us an astronomical price for it. Apparently, I'm not the only person who's noticed or had issues.
