    Grace Under Pressure was my introduction to Rush, and the first album/cassette of theirs that I purchased… with paper route money. There was not a song on this album that I tempted to fast forward. While not a true “concept” album, the dark themes that run through all the songs tie it together nicely. Between the Wheels is probably my favorite single tune, but I will always love this album.

    Grace Under Pressure was a vastly underrated album. I loved all 8 songs. The songs were heavy on the keyboards/synthesizers which was the trend back then. But, each song was a rocker. I also consider Between The Wheels my favorite. Heavy on the keyboards, but one you can definitely rock out to. Hearing these songs takes me back to age 15. Thanks for the great video.

    Hi, thanks for posting the video. It brought me back many memories from that period of my life 👍 There’s a few things I’d like to point out as constructive criticism. First, you should try to make the levels between the songs and your voice as equal as possible. Second, and I don’t know how much of it is caused by RUclips, but there are many sound drops during the songs. Do you suppose they might be introduced by YT? In any case, thanks again for taking the time to post. As a curiosity, which software do you use to mix? Cheers!

    • @theoriginalrushman6620
      @theoriginalrushman6620 Месяц назад

      Thanks for the great comment, first thing you need to know is my equipment is barely capable of pulling this off, I have no sound board or anything. Second, I have a really loud voice and I am purposely trying to tone things down but I want the song and my voice to be on the same level. This video gave me so much trouble it might just be this video. I know nothing about sound drops must be YT. Funny enough I record with obs on my Dell, then I transfer through Vimeo to my Mac laptop to edit in I movie and upload from there, crazy I know, thanks for watching next stop Power Windows!!!

      Obviously you just cannot appreciate the advancement and development of this band that was, and still great throughout their journey. Just because they developed further than their previous rock sound does not at all take away from their musical genius in the later stages. The words sad and garbage never existed in anything this group produced. If it isn't your type of music anymore, I could appreciate that comment. Sad and garbage just shows how much you have no clue on musical genius.

    Probably my favorite song from Grace Under Pressure. Really nice bass hook drives it along (how rare for Rush, haha). I think it's also a song about misconceptions. How we can think we are one thing but others see it the opposite. Like in lines like "The Soviets are the Blues.......The Reds.....are under your bed". This is actually a common theme with Peart's lyrics. The first set of lyrics he presented to Alex and Geddy was a song called Beneath, Between, Behind. That song has very similar themes to this one.

Reaper is still a very decent product if you don’t want to spend the money for something like Studio One (which is what I use). Mixcraft also looks like a good bargain, but I only tested it once some 8-10 years ago, so I don’t know how they fare. Cheers all!
