All good points. These are all things people overlook when picking up a hunting rifle. I go far more indepth than that these days but i put my rifles together myself according to the intended applications. Very good points on scope mounting specs but don't forget eye relief and how it changes person to person and scope to scope and if you will be shooting while standing, bench, or prone

My grandfather had one when I was a kid. Great rifle until Remington quit making ammo for it. That kind of killed the party.

That ADL is in good shape! The 22-250 Rem is one of my favorite cartridges. Maybe that rifle just needs a GOOD cleaning of the chamber and bore. Could be heavy carbon build up in the neck and freebore area.

The parent cartridge of the 22-250 Remington is the 250 Savage, NOT the 308 Winchester!!!

This is a GREAT video and well-done sir. I tried to read all the comments, but I never saw any about using a .001 indicator. And I understand we have to sometimes use what we have available or what we can sneak home. Most dial indicators have 1" travel and .001 graduations and the specs for accuracy are plus or minus .001 for the first two revolutions and then plus or minus .002 thereafter. A dial test indicator is more accurately built and can be held to much tighter specifications. These indicators go down to .0005 or a s tight as .0001 in their graduations. Flip the "6" piece. Upper crook of it goes over the front of the lever. There is supposed to be a spring to keep it rotated back, over the lever tip.

That guy should have his head examined. My grandfather gave me a 30-40 Krag in 1967 to use as my first deer rifle. It was all original with the military sights and everything. Me being a stupid 14 year old thought it would be a good idea to scope it so I paid a gunsmith to mount a scope on it. It worked out well for a few years and then I bought a Remington 760 and hunted with it while the 30-40 resided in the gun safe and only saw the light of day when I took it out to clean and oil it. Well, fast forward to 2021 when I auctioned off most of my rifle collection I expected the 30-40 to bring pretty good money. It was only one of two that I put a reserve on. Highest bidder was less than $500. I consulted a well respected gun shop and he said if it would have been an original specimen it would have been worth about three times the highest bidder but as is he was not surprised at the lack of bidding.

I recently got a 645. The previous owner had it since the 70's it had an easy life in his basement making bicycle parts! I stored it for a few months now I have it set up in my basement! It cleaned up nice and is in great shape.

Good info. I have a couple of Savage Rifles I am wanting to upgrade. Savages are similar to Gloxks -- reasonably priced with lots of aftermarket parts available.

Bolt too dry. Always ensure there's a bit of grease on the back of the lugs and in front of the bolt handle (extraction cam)

Don't know whether its possible to cause some type of damage to the trigger/sear by improper bolt removal and insertion but the correct procedure for removing is to close the bolt, pull the trigger to fire (which on a 52 causes no damage). Then WHILE pushing forward hard on the trigger unlock the bolt and withdraw it rearward. To replace the bolt start it in with the lug down at 6:00 and while holding the trigger back hard slide the bolt the rest of the way into the action. Takes some jiggling sometimes.

This was very good info!! I was wondering for how long I have to boil them parts, and you did say an hour and a half so awesome possum! I found a ½x28 muzzle brake in the woods covered in red rust and I'm boiling it off right now :) If will make a fine addition to my 30-06.

How can the bolt be so sloppy it hits the lip? Did you check the bolt to receiver clearance? And a 22-250 rem 700 is a rifle, not a weapon, nor is a 22-250 based on a 308 case.

How hard would it be if I bought a parts kit
