Real Avid AR15 "Armorer's Master Kit" Unboxing
What an amateur, turn the appropriate size center in situ, problem solved
I like your process because it doesn't make a gun look new. It has the used but pleasing vintage look. Thanks
There is a 116 weather warrior also
All good points. These are all things people overlook when picking up a hunting rifle. I go far more indepth than that these days but i put my rifles together myself according to the intended applications. Very good points on scope mounting specs but don't forget eye relief and how it changes person to person and scope to scope and if you will be shooting while standing, bench, or prone
Great feed back sir, thank you. What else do you do? Be interested to see your check list. Probably see a few things I should add to mine. Thanks again
@@MastGunWorks like you addressed, scope setup is the big 1. Should double check that no screws are loose. I usually blue locktite all screws. At least scope mount screws since that seems to always come loose for everyone. Oh and check if the free floated barrel is actually free floated or touching somewhere by sliding paper under the barrel. More in depth stuff would be I think it's important to get your cheek hight correct by either different height scope rings or a cheek riser. And I usually change my trigger weight depending on if it's a hunting rifle or not but that's more of personal preference and I always keep safety in mind when doing that.
@@1badombre82 Good stuff man. Yeah we’re on the same page. You definitely pointed out 1 or 2 things I’m going to start checking though. You ever check head space? I’ve kicked it around, but haven’t unless it’s an AR or AR style.
@@MastGunWorks I don't check headspace on everything but I did on my 308 bolt actions because they are easy to adjust and because companies like savage send them out with very large headspacing for hunters and I wanted to tighten that up. Especially on my precision rifles
Alguien sabe el precio del arma?
Hello, could you please make a video or send me pics and maybe measures of the firing pin? I'll give you contact if you would send me pics. It would really help me to restore my flobert that looks the exact same at least from outside and it is also 32 rf.
I would be happy to, but I no longer have access to that particular rifle. Sorry about that
Nevermind, thank you anyway for willingness :)
My grandfather had one when I was a kid. Great rifle until Remington quit making ammo for it. That kind of killed the party.
That ADL is in good shape! The 22-250 Rem is one of my favorite cartridges. Maybe that rifle just needs a GOOD cleaning of the chamber and bore. Could be heavy carbon build up in the neck and freebore area.
👍
Deference between".22 and 5mm
Proper steel conservation! Mark Novak keeps being proven right.
I’m no expert, but so far the dude seems to certainly know more than I do.
You got an a3 stamped sheetmetal mag assembly instead of machined mk1.
Básicamente es igualmente ala shotgun pointer sts8 es exactamente lo mismo
I just cant
My problem is a the bolt is jammed. Shell is still stuck in chamber post firing. No rubber mallet but my buddy has one will try this out tomorrow.
That’s rough man. Hopefully you’re able to coax it open
I just got a western field model 228 fr 16g and I’m looking for info on it. Could use a new stock
Check out Outback Gun Parts. WA (the owner) is a wealth of knowledge
For how long do you boil it?
Around 30 minutes each time
@@MastGunWorks thank you 😀
Hey Josh, I miss your great videos, I have been rewatching some of your videos. I hope all is well with you and your family.
Thank you sir! Hoping to get back to posting content soon. We moved, and I’m working on building a house. Appreciate ya!
Question: Is it normal that the barrel extension which is mounted over the chamber (slides in the receiver) is loose/can be twisted on the barrel?
The parent cartridge of the 22-250 Remington is the 250 Savage, NOT the 308 Winchester!!!
What scope?
I believe that’s a vortex. I’ll have to look and see what specific model he used
Hi, thanks for posting this detailed video. Great video for newcomers to this work.
This is a GREAT video and well-done sir. I tried to read all the comments, but I never saw any about using a .001 indicator. And I understand we have to sometimes use what we have available or what we can sneak home. Most dial indicators have 1" travel and .001 graduations and the specs for accuracy are plus or minus .001 for the first two revolutions and then plus or minus .002 thereafter. A dial test indicator is more accurately built and can be held to much tighter specifications. These indicators go down to .0005 or a s tight as .0001 in their graduations. Thank you again for sharing and aim small miss small!
Hey thanks for explaining all that. I have a 0.0005 & 0.0001 indicator. I’ll use those when I REALLY need that extra level of tolerance
Good stuff. Thanks!

That flag is fuckin epic.
LoL, thanks 😂. I actually saw that on another guys wall.
That fuckin' snorting is annoying
Can’t figure out for the life of me how to remove the bolt
On the CZ shotgun you have to get the handle off first. It’s not fun. You have to get the bolt lines up just right
Can’t figure out for the life of me how to remove the bolt
😡😡😡😡😡👎👎👎👎
Flip the "6" piece. Upper crook of it goes over the front of the lever. There is supposed to be a spring to keep it rotated back, over the lever tip.
Great video
Thanks!
I learned the 870 barrel lesson from a man named Don Corson who operates as Corson's Barrels in Kingman Arizona.
Good video
Thanks
That guy should have his head examined. My grandfather gave me a 30-40 Krag in 1967 to use as my first deer rifle. It was all original with the military sights and everything. Me being a stupid 14 year old thought it would be a good idea to scope it so I paid a gunsmith to mount a scope on it. It worked out well for a few years and then I bought a Remington 760 and hunted with it while the 30-40 resided in the gun safe and only saw the light of day when I took it out to clean and oil it. Well, fast forward to 2021 when I auctioned off most of my rifle collection I expected the 30-40 to bring pretty good money. It was only one of two that I put a reserve on. Highest bidder was less than $500. I consulted a well respected gun shop and he said if it would have been an original specimen it would have been worth about three times the highest bidder but as is he was not surprised at the lack of bidding.
This guy don’t know what he’s talking about! Don’t spread bs when you don’t know what the parent case even is. That’s how you get your channel blocked from my feed! By by.
I apologize for my ignorance. I compared dimensions with a micrometer. That’s what led me to my theory. Thanks for correcting my error.
I recently got a 645. The previous owner had it since the 70's it had an easy life in his basement making bicycle parts! I stored it for a few months now I have it set up in my basement! It cleaned up nice and is in great shape.
They’re good mills. The company is still in business so you should be able to get parts and info pretty easily. Happy machining!
Good info. I have a couple of Savage Rifles I am wanting to upgrade. Savages are similar to Gloxks -- reasonably priced with lots of aftermarket parts available.
Bolt too dry. Always ensure there's a bit of grease on the back of the lugs and in front of the bolt handle (extraction cam)
What machine is that
Wells Index 645
Early 20 ga wing Master made on 12 ga receiver.
That is exactly right. Ended up finding out it was a odd ball barrel they probably only made that way for a few years
All so mod. 58 auto is same barrel .
the front sight protector is on backwards.
Any advice for the 720? Is it basically the same? Any known aftermarket oversized bolt handle and release? Thanks!
Honestly no. I’ve typically made my own. Might check with Brownell’s, Midway USA, or eBay.
@@MastGunWorks I found a 720 G3 that came with an oversized release and handle. It’s fantastic!
Just an FYI...22 Hornet is a centerfire cartridge.
Dude, change that water...
It tastes better this way 😂
Don't know whether its possible to cause some type of damage to the trigger/sear by improper bolt removal and insertion but the correct procedure for removing is to close the bolt, pull the trigger to fire (which on a 52 causes no damage). Then WHILE pushing forward hard on the trigger unlock the bolt and withdraw it rearward. To replace the bolt start it in with the lug down at 6:00 and while holding the trigger back hard slide the bolt the rest of the way into the action. Takes some jiggling sometimes.
Thanks for the info. That was quite helpful
This was very good info!! I was wondering for how long I have to boil them parts, and you did say an hour and a half so awesome possum! I found a ½x28 muzzle brake in the woods covered in red rust and I'm boiling it off right now :) If will make a fine addition to my 30-06.
Glad it was helpful!
How can the bolt be so sloppy it hits the lip? Did you check the bolt to receiver clearance? And a 22-250 rem 700 is a rifle, not a weapon, nor is a 22-250 based on a 308 case.
Again, based on what I was seeing from testing I have a strop suspicion the bolt nose recess was machined too small. I believe these are typically bored out to around .012”-.015”. It’s also been my experience that most factory rifles like this have “sloppy” bolts. Custom actions are usually a lot tighter on the bolt to bolt raceway fit.
How hard would it be if I bought a parts kit
To build one?? I would say if you do your homework, and have the proper tools it shouldn’t be that hard. Most of these mil-surp rifles were meant to be mass assembled and field serviceable. Where you’ll run into issues is trying to put mil-surp parts in a commercially manufactured rifle. Which is what I ran into with this one
