Thanks for this! These videos and you sharing your skills/knowledge is greatly appreciated 👍 I was removing the remains of a snapped off bead sight last night, when it finally let loose and I was left with a hole in my barrel I thought I'd screwed up royally but this was very reassuring :)
Im currently about to begin cutting down a 28" barrel with bead sight down to 18.5..im goong to drill amd tap a new bead hole by finding dead center to the best pf my ability. My family owned a machine shop for 60 years until we sold it 7 years ago. This would be much easir with one of our 3 metal band saws or CNC machines. But have solme skills using calipers and micrometers and can use a center pinch pretty well. Im turnig a old deer 12 gauge into a home dwfese gun. This particular btand dowsnt have a piatol grip available but im going to cut the stock grip and sand and stain and maybe need to use some wood filler but im looing forward to the project. The only part that gives me pause os the stock ans forend are both in beautiful shape and have great original finish.but for hoke defense im a fan of a dark gun as its likely going go have 1 slug and 4 00 OUGHT buck in it.
Sounds like a fun project. I can understand how you feel about the wood. I would just scrape the finish off and coat it with some furniture wax. Won’t be shinny then, but it’ll look nice. I don’t think going with flat black is going to gain you much. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I really learn many things. Do you have a tutorial video on 0.223 suppressor manufacture for an American Ruger? We have many foxes taking our lambs, thought a suppressor might help.
Greatly appreciate the compliment. I do not have a video about suppressor manufacturing. I would advise you to stay away from aluminum though. It won’t take the pressure
Hey thanks. I appreciate that. Yeah I need to start filming again. I keep finding myself half way through a project and thinking “I should be filming this”😂. Been a very busy couple months to say the least. Thanks again for asking.
Nice work. The machining videos you do are my favorite!!! Thanks for sharing your work with us!!
