Not only is she better than Mariah, but better than any singer in the WORLD!!! No other singer thrills me and captivates my SOUL as much as the Queen, Aretha Franklin, with her heartfelt songs! She could sing anything and practically did! Some have said that Mariah is more versatile, that's ABSOLUTELY not true! Aretha sang in more genres than any other singer in the history of American recorded music, thus far! Please do your homework, before coming with a lame rebuttal! Aretha sang soft, soothing and pretty, where many people swear, she could only "SCREAM!" She could be explosive as a volcano or as mellow as a cello! Her "vocal-acrobats," scatting, improvisation, EMOTIVE-SOULFULNESS, piano-playing and overall musicianship, puts her ABOVE and BEYOND EVERYONE ELSE!!! In my opinion!!!

Mariah has this golden, liquid tone that in her upper register shines even brighter but is also even more pleasant to the ear. She IS the ultimate singer and without a doubt the most beautiful and versatile voice in the history of recorded non operatic music.
