Toni, Brandy, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, and Aaliyah are my favorites. Mariah is #1 overall, though. Celine, Whitney, Christina, Aretha, and JoJo all have great lower registries, though. Especially Aretha live, and Christina has one of my favorite D3 notes ever. Great video!
In Low notes, for me this is the place: 1. Toni Braxton 2. Mariah Carey 3. Christina Aguilera 4. Whitney Houston 5. Céline Dion 6. Aretha Franklin 7. Beyoncé Knowles
Hey You! Great Job On this! Pictures were orgasmic as always. Loved all the selections you used. They all looked wonderful :) Now the best to me are Definetely Mariah and Aretha. I can't pick Between them 2. So round and resonant. Next: Toni Beyonce Jojo Brandy Whitney Aaliyah Christina Then Celine. All Great :)
You are awesome, this video is awesome. FOr me me perfernce wise I'd go with Mariah all day anyday just because she can still sound super beautiful when she take it low, I love the breathy quality she adds to it as well, love the power and richness. Then Aaliyah. But Technique wise it's Aretha, Toni, and then Mariah. Great video!!
it's amazing how a pop artist (Beyonce) tops the list with all of these soul singers... she's the best to me bc not only can she sing so powerfully, but she can dance her as* off too & is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! #TotalPackage
All of Xtina's low notes are whispered tbh. My faves are Mariah and Aretha and Beyonce and Brandy and Toni.(lol I can't chose one). The rest are great too.
@MimiDahhling30 No she didn't she says "I been working day and night baby..working day and night." The background noise is the Bb2 that is not Aretha..
I can't really rank them from best to worst, but Brandy and Beyoncé, in my opinion, have the best lower registers of these ladies; and they easily take the 2nd octave notes. Aretha has had some better lows, I know for a fact her F2 is brilliant, but that's not in this video so I won't really count that. Mariah's lower register is good but it's not nearly as good or well-supported as Brandy's or Beyoncé's. I LOVE Toni's D3s. Celine did surprisingly well down there too. That's all I have to say on the matter. Whitney, Christina and (past) JoJo were more comfortable singing higher.
1. Queenriah, From top to bottom this womans voice slays. 2. Toni 3. Brandy 4. Xtina Aretha is the queen so there's no need to say anything about her voice. She is the vocal standard for ALL female singers! Whitney has a nice tone but she's out of her element far as lower register is concerned. Celine can sing but she's alot better far as belting. Lol @ Aaliyah, Jojo, & Beyonce being added when there's absolutely NOTHING special about either of there voices.
@BZBlaner "Christina: Lower register is a myth" hahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahah that is hilarious. You always have me dyin with your comments!
ok for real tho this is really actually pretty easy. it goes in order: 1: mariah, no singer period has range like her from low to high. she wins, get over it. 2: toni, shes know for her lower register and does it effortlessly 3: brandy her tone is perfect for her lower range wich makes it even better. 4: beyonce. that descending run she does in dance for you seals the deal 5: christina. her lower register is actually better than her upper. more controll and support
Mariah is uncomparable in low register, like in any of her other registers! She's the most bersatile and the greatest vocalist to ever grace the world! The only one in this list that can compete with her is Toni and maybe Aretha. P.S. Didn't Mariah's range stop at F2? When did she hit an E2?!
@Dam112 I agree with you. I don't get how the one thats arguing with you can argue that mariahs tessitura is her lower range. She says it herself, she regards herself an an alto because she says that she is most comfortable in her lower range. Yes she has an extensive range anyway but barely any women can go down to an E2 so that definitely says something about her comfort skill and ability in the contralto range.
@pedy19 Perfect ex of Mariah displaying NATURAL range, pretty much singing the entire song on the 3rd Octave!! Specifically B2-G4..that's 2nd tenor!! Well outside of ANY soprano's control. She's not just 'touching' a few of those notes, she's HITTING them throughtout the entire song, with ease, and effortlessly . You see how bright, supple, and rich her lower register actually is? That's where her voice naturally falls. Striking diffrence in the amount of effort she executes from high belting!!
I always liked Mariah Carey's low notes the best, and i still pick Mariah. Mariah can do a whole song in that register lol (Stevie Wonder tribute). But I like Mariah's best because she actually sustains the low notes. I always choose the person who sustains the notes with vibrato no matter what register its in. And when it comes to low register notes, Mariah comes out on top. Brandy was also outstanding in this video. Aretha to me was the weakest link. Her notes were so quick and not sustained
I think the best were Toni, Aretha, Beyonce and Brandy. everybody was good but I think those 4 were the best. The only ones I didnt like were Whitney's and Celine's but there not known for their lower register, they're more like "belty" singers, singers with a really strong chest voice.
@ThkmraShe can, but rarely does. & E5, and F5, aren't outside of an Alto's range, to say so would be ridiculous! Typically pure 'sopranic' range is G5 & upwards, w/o losing power, texture, strength, and tone. Singing below C4 is not outside of a sopranos' range either. But that occurs less frequently. Comfort & ability to hold the notes is key also in accessing if its apart of one's range, not just 'touched'. To further my point on Mariah see her tribte to Stevie wonder of 'U and I'!!
@Stefano94x Well you'd be very wrong!! Mariah is a Contralto, though she is a lyric one. Her voice fall perfectly in her lower register..ever hear her speaking voice?
for me from the selections you chose toni and brandy take this... celine sounded nice going down the a Bb2 and B2 but she was the only one that wasn't enunciating any words
@pedy19 'young' voice that hasn't properly matured is able to accommodate over-extention. As time wears on, the cords harden, grow, and rest in place, & it's not able to as much. The case with Mariah..I'd even put Whitney in that category as being a 'natural alto', who exhibited a higher 'Sprinto' sound very early on. Ex 12 year old boy, able to sing 1st tenor..puberty strikes, now he's Baritone. Was he a 'real tenor? No, he simply needed time to grow into his true voice(sound)
@WhitneyElizabethH but, you don't like christina, you have like 100s of comments saying it, on one of your videos, you said "the battle of 3 vocal titans and christina"
Christina has a B2 in "Prima Donna." My friend @CareemBrownMusic can confirm that. Anyway the best were Toni, Brandy, Christina (I love her light, almost haunting lower register), Mariah, Aretha is a beast, but I prefer her live low notes these are great too thou. Beyonce's lower register is excellent. Jojo's lower register is exceptional too. /.\ (Aaliyah) is the Queen!. Aaliyah & Brandy are 1st, then Toni & the rest.
Interesting...well, Aretha's voice has lowered over time, so those low notes sound really solid nowadays, and I'd say she won overall. Beyonce sounds spectacular in her lower register, given that she can produce a completely solid and audible B2. Mariah, Brandy, and Celine all have excellent lower registers with a good solidness, and Toni sounds good from C3 up. Aaliyah and Whitney have the same problem for lack of real comfort that low. Christina's low notes are just too foggy.
i was dissapointed that anita baker wasn't on here, she has an amazing lower register. As far as this list goes Toni has the best (in my opinion) lower register of the group since as a low contralto she uses it more often so it has more nuance. Jojo also uses hers well and as a spinto saprano she's very good at maintaining her tone in the low part of her range. Mariah also has a great lower range which she uses for dramatic effect well. The rests voices kinda got a bit to lyric.I like a warm reg
@MimiDahhling30 she does have some songs with great low notes without auto-tune mostly unreleased stuff! this is great but some of them use there lower register alot different like Mariah mainly shines in harmonys when it comes to her lower register while singers like bey dont have great lower harmonys but amazing upper harmonies! and aretha is alot better live! Brandy,Toni and Liyah are BEAST!
That said...Brandy slayed them all: the lows were soooo clear and controlled. Mariah comes second and Toni is an extremely close third but I'm 100% positive that Toni has better Bb2s and B2s than somewhere out there. Then again, Mariah has done all of those notes and more LIVE...on multiple occasions.. Then it's my girl Aaliyah (beautifully expressive lows). After those four, Aretha, Beyonce, Whitney, Celine, Christina and then Jojo. What song was Brandy singing when she was singing the B2?
@Thkmra Pretty much Mariah has just been singing outside of her natural range 4 yrs; beautifully, and skillfully, but the fact is sooner or later it was bound to catch up with her. The degree to which a high-pitched voice sounds at 19, to a low, 'warm one at 35 is evidenced. As ur voice matures it goes to where it always was auppose to, for lack of better words!! In reading, and coming upon MULTIPLE statements of her 'flexible vocal' cords', she confirmed: Alto with range. agin ask her urself!!
@KingLild2010 I know right Britney's B2 in Dramatic is one of the strongest low B's ever, but i guess becuz she doesnt belt high notes she can't be included!!!
In terms of sexiness, Brandy and Mariah are tied. Beyonce comes in at third: honestly, she's a bit of an afterthought. Everyone else kinda falls to the way-side.
Honestly let's not put support in this thing. None of them support below c/c#3 (Beyoncé can do that), d3 consistently. So all second octave notes are not supported! Which is fine since they are women! However I'd say that the best are Tony, Aretha, Mariah and Beyoncé in no specific other. Don't know much about Brandi but she sounds great too. They are the ones with the stronger lower register. However an honorable mention goes to Céline, who has a much higher tessitura and still goes all the way down to bb2/a3 and can support until Eb3 (Mariah supports d3, just a semitone lower), which is great. I honestly like Céline's lows better than Whitney's though even hers were beautiful
Mariah and Beyoncé hands down... They sound extremely amazing in their lower register, effortless, full, and their tonal quality is out of this world.
those videos effects are so intricate and spectacular! love this video
Great Job!! The production was awesome! For me mariah, Aretha, Toni, brandy, and aaliyah were the best :)
Whitney's run/riff to Eb3. YASS GAWD.
yaas
That was so fierce! What's the song?
In Low notes, for me this is the place:
1. Toni Braxton
2. Mariah Carey
3. Christina Aguilera
4. Whitney Houston
5. Céline Dion
6. Aretha Franklin
7. Beyoncé Knowles
Toni and Mariah's lower registers are really impressive! So much emotion
Hey You! Great Job On this! Pictures were orgasmic as always. Loved all the selections you used. They all looked wonderful :)
Now the best to me are Definetely Mariah and Aretha. I can't pick Between them 2. So round and resonant.
Next:
Toni
Beyonce
Jojo
Brandy
Whitney
Aaliyah
Christina
Then Celine. All Great :)
Mariah and Toni for sure...they're speaking voices are pretty deep so they have a natural ability to sing down there
what was Aaliyah's B2 song?
I loved Whitney's lows hahaha ... but Celine's ones were amazing.
Amazing video, good job!
Brandy, and Aaliyah!!
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!
Mariah , Beyonce.. those low notes 're very full, round.
Jojo B2 is a C#3 :P Great video! Out of all these ladies Jojo is my favorite so i'm gonna go with her.
You are awesome, this video is awesome. Agreed, & Thanks for commenting again :)
@Chimier Thanks for commenting! :) Nice list.
@hessounusual95 D3 is 'These Are The Special Times' & Eb3 is 'Dreamy Eyes'
All of Xtina's low notes are whispered tbh.
My faves are Mariah and Aretha and Beyonce and Brandy and Toni.(lol I can't chose one).
The rest are great too.

i think mariah has the best breath support in her Lower register its literally like talking for her mariah wins for me i loved the pics you used :)
Whitney and Aretha are the best.Great video!!!
1. Queenriah, From top to bottom this womans voice slays.
2. Toni
3. Brandy
4. Xtina
Aretha is the queen so there's no need to say anything about her voice.
Mariah, Aretha, Toni win for me bye everyone else. Nice video :) Liked and Shared :p
beyonce s low register is my favourite, but aretha s great too!!!
I like them all, but specially Mariah and Toni! amazingly beautiful low notes...
Toni's is amazing, Mariah's is good too, Christina's is so weak imo.
@BZBlaner "Christina: Lower register is a myth" hahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahah that is hilarious. You always have me dyin with your comments!
That voice Whitney had...nobody will ever top that. nobody. she is like one of those "once in our lifetime" voices.
@Stefano94x thankya

what song does toni sing @ 0:39
@MimiDahhling30 Hun those are your opinions. I just stated mine dahlin' that's all.
toni, aretha, mariah, beyonce, brandy
@pedy19 'young' voice that hasn't properly matured is able to accommodate over-extention. As time wears on, the cords harden, grow, and rest in place, & it's not able to as much. Those Mariah, Xtina And Celine's Photos Are Beautiful...
and again I ask, has anyone ever listened to Adeva, Gladys Knight, Mavis Staples, Tracy Chapman and above all (or should I say below all) MARLA GLENN?
@MimiXtinaChelleKRow haha thanks for watching !

Toni Braxton.... Her lower Register is very deep.... the Queen of dark voice
@Luxiusta07 elegant ? feminine ? KI ! bye babe ! LOL *smooches*
@WhitneyElizabethH are you joking about christina?
Christina have a B2 in Lotus album
@KingLild2010 I know right Britney's B2 in Dramatic is one of the strongest low B's ever, but i guess becuz she doesnt belt high notes she can't be included!!!
I'm a Lamb all day. and the other days in between, i'ma Braxton/Brandy
1. Toni
2. Brandy
3. Mariah
@TLPOMNIMEDIA and yes i know brandy's a contralto as well but the light lyric-ness of it is kinda put off when she goes really low.
@123buffylover
You too
as for the rest, they are more natural sopranos with the range to go lower but not as much support as my top 5.
In terms of sexiness, Brandy and Mariah are tied.
Beyonce comes in at third: honestly, she's a bit of an afterthought. Everyone else kinda falls to the way-side.
