when he doesn't play is as important as when he does. I'm old now,but mud told me ,blues is tone..this is a great example of that.spike..Vancouver wa.

I got to meet the lovely gentleman years ago at the Jazz City Festival in Edmonton - he wandered into the "Mission Control"...i.e. volunteer headquarters wanting to know where he could get some Chinese food...we were only a few blocks away from Chinatown. Note that he didn't ask or demand someone else get it for him. He came back and visited later too...a class act and put on a great show in the ballroom. I didn't realize at the time as a twentysomething what a legend he was.

A friend has "Blowin' the Family Jewels" down to a gnats arse and I want to be able to back him on the bass and guitar. I hadn't previously understood how good Bill was. I really need to find the sheet music for it to get the chords and basslines figured out. I love that song.

When I saw this band first time around 2005 or something, I was totally blown away. This Lewen Guitar virtuosity, band swinging and great singer/harmonica player that Greg is made their show one (if not the) of the best I have ever seen. Don’t forget the colorful vintage suits and black and white shoes the band usually wore. It was amazing. I danced the whole night through and I am not much of a dancer usually. Their Wig Flipper album is one of my ”deserted island” albums. Now finally on spotify aswell. Check it out - play it loud!

One of the BEST jump and swing blues guitarists on the planet. The whole band swings hard, Marky is a great drummer too. Saw this band at Doheny Blues festival and they were hands down the best band on the circuit. Going to see Junior Watson and Rick Holmstrom today and hope they swing as hard as this band!.
