Rick Estrin in Spah Convention. Instrumental slow Marion's Mood. He's playing with: Big "Eyes" Smith - Drums Rusty Zinn - Guitar Ronnie James Weber - Bass
Hi Vernuft Well, it is a Walter tribute, after all, Marion being Walter's first name: Marion Walter Jacobs. But you know that, right? And so Mr Estrin quotes from a few of Walter's pieces here....Blue Midnight and others in passing. It's a fine performance, for sure. Best wishes from the Isle of Man, U.K.
love this guy. seen him several times out west. he has a great sense of humor and usually wears metalic colored suits. his base player will "charge"the audience like a bull elephant.
You're right, in fact, "Blue Midnight" and "Quarter to Twelve" are two instrumentals which sound very close each other in their musical shape and way of playing. I love them both and try to play but I hardly can...
the main problem with that songs, is the tongue trino (i don't know how you call it at least we call it that way in argentina), but keep it up, wish i had a scanner, i have "blue midnight" on "papers", but for me, there's only one turnaround that's worth it, i think is the 3rd
A masterclass in tone and phrasing and soul. Unmatched.
when he doesn't play is as important as when he does. I'm old now,but mud told me ,blues is tone..this is a great example of that.spike..Vancouver wa.
This is one of my favorite slow blues performances. Awesome!
wonderful !!!! a geat performance ,a pleasure to watch and listen to .
the greats of modern blues...
