I have both. The Digitakt is the brain of my rig. To me, the Digitakt is easier to use than the MPC. The playability of the MPC is what I focus on. Together they have been integral parts of my studio.

I assume the Digitakt 2 can sync up to the Hydrasnyth and send midi sequences out so to make synth sounds so you can have more than just sample based sounds from the Digitakt 2, but is there a way to play samples in the Digitakt 2 and have synth sequences from a synth like the Hydrasnyth at the same time? Or is that something only the MPC One + could do? I'm asking this since I'm trying to figure out if I want something from Elekton or Akai.

Minifreak filter sounds way, way better to me. I'd love to have both though. Both seem like incredible instruments you can make just amazing music with. Hydrasynth is a bit glassy, I am a bit more in the market for something a tad more raw. I think Minifreak is a bit more raw.

How would you handle any edits you decide to make on the instrumental? i.e. making a change to the sample chops or drum pattern. Would you go back to the MPC to make the track edits, or do them in Ableton? I ask because I'm just now exploring pairing the MPC One w/ Ableton...

What is omitted in every APC 64 tutorial: precise intervention in automation of very sensitive controls (eg sometimes FilterCutoff) is hardly possible without jumps, since you have to pick up the value and the point is difficult or even impossible to hit.

Thanks for the great video as always! I bought myself a Matriarch for the New Year and unfortunately the box says it's already assembled in Taiwan and this is noticeable by the uneven placement of the buttons and I was also upset by the lack of paper instructions

Do you know if you have the Roland Fantom EX6 and you have a 88 note MIDI controller keyboard, will all 88 notes play thru the EX6 hooked up with MIDI?

Nah had an akai force and network midi driver is awful when using ableton controller mode it knocks out other devices. Needs devs to read their emails and fix it. Also, MPC only does 8 tracks and on a gig you can’t wait for 2 minutes keeping your audience waiting to load the next project (song). Maschine plus scenes are much better live playing option for live. I would Wait for a new maschine plus 😂 kudos for you being a product placement RUclipsr synthfluencer seems it’s the only music thing that earns money these days and gives you freebies. Well, for those that need more ram, theres a way to upgrade it to 4gb, all mpcs are limited to 4gb ram upgrades. The internal hardware is very old and outdated. Inmusic is just milking the akai mpc brand for what it can at this point with little innovation.

We need to be able to set time signatures. Please Akai make this a Daw so we truly can be stand alone. It's close but my biggest want/need is changing Time Signatures having the ability to set the amount of bars I want in a loop and designate the time signatures I want to individual bars. PLEASE

A very good, well-considered video - and as an owner of both of these (or more accurately, a Key 37, which is technically my wife's), I do think that all of the comments that you've made here about both, are very reasonable and fair. A great comparison video!

I’ve had a Hydrasynth KB for a few years and love it. Traded a Peak for a Hydrasynth Explorer plus cash (which in retrospect was not my shiniest moment) as I wanted a mobile keyboard. Turned out I never really used it outside of my studio. I also had a Microfreak for a while but sold it. Now I have the Explorer up for sale, keeping the KB as my main keyboard and ordered a Minifreak Stellar which was on a Boxing Day sale for $150 CDN off. Looking forward to having the Minifreak with its sequencer and multiple synth engines especially with the recent 3.0 update. It can’t run on batteries, but will be lighter to take places than the Explorer.

11:15 I think that's just the envelope shape. The filter sustain sounds higher on the plugin.

Just picked up the mini freak and added it to my key 61. Very helpful video , Thanks, great stuff.

To my ears seems the plugin got a octaver effect only and the behringer a extra kind of analog drive, the two are interesting (to be honest I think there is clearly something missing in the plugin, lacks of personality). I'm wondering about the durability of the behringer (interested to buy a model d, and also a pro-1).

Why use the page down key the trick is choose say oscillator 1 orange select button but tap it multiple times to jump to the page you want never move your hand it's so fast and intuitive I'm looking at the screen while I tap it works on all the buttons

I have major issues with the tuning . I have mine in the System 55 and it just goes out of tune quite quickly . Very frustrating. I love the sound but .....

I found your channel, a couple of days ago. Since that time I've watched every one of your videos. I must say, I've enjoyed every one of them and have learned q few things along the way. I just wanted to say, AKAI owes you some money as after watching your videos I bought an MPC One+. Your videos were what pushed me to finally pull the trigger and make the purchase. I own an Iridium as well and after watching one of your videos as small thing you did in that video that wasn't even part of the basis for the video unlocked the Iridium for me!

It's an IQ test. If you can't figure out the more complex one, you failed. Luckily they make gear for anyone to bang rocks together.

hydra synth looks class ,,,for my money id by neither only because i bought a jd 08 ,,korg monologue .and tb03 ....which should get most of thease sounds ,,,,/plus i own a dijitakt 1.......everyone rates the mini freak ...i like to ...but the build quality on the hydra ...is gorgeous,,.id swap maybe for something of equal value ,,but the boats passed for thease 2 for me ....the next is either a sh4d or a technic 1200 second hand ...

I use my MPC for sequencing like you do and I get what you are saying. But when using Ableton Live with the Fantom it is the best!
