sound clip of the Cougar going up the road after putting on the new exhaust
Просмотров 71611 лет назад
A buddy shot a clip of me running up the road. Was going to be a burnout video, but the new asphalt proved stickier than I expected. I eased into it, thinking it would spin like it always does.
Video by one of the guys at Autozone as I was leaving in the Cougar

Working on building an exhaust system on the cougar and decided to get a sound clip of it before I put the muffs on it.
Tach it up, make that Cleveland sing.

I know, crappy sound, but nothing captures the sound just right. It hit about 7500, or close to it, which is were the limiter is set. Was just playing around.
Cold start of the Cougar now that she is tuned just right. This is how a Cleveland should sound.

All tuned and running great, finally. Even with the big lumpy cam it will idle at 650 RPM all day long.
70 Cougar cold start and drive off

Needed to make another grocery store run this weekend and the wife shot a short video while her and the little one where playing. Seems the only time I drive the car is when I am running to the grocery store. Hell of a fast grocery getter.
A little tire spin at 20 MPH or so.

Slowly getting used to the power of this beast. Still not full throttle, but had more speed going before I got into it.
The trip back from the store in the Cougar.

The tripod just couldn't handle the G's.

Made a run up to the store and decided to set up the tripod. The initial take-off was about a little over half throttle.

Damn thing sounded like it was beatboxing
That's the sound of freedom! Murica F'Yeah
That sounds mint 👌👍what cam are using , I've got a 351 clevo running a f246
Michael I think that's about the best sounding cleveland I've ever head and I'm putting a cleveland together right now and would love to know your cam specs please.
I would have to dig up the cam specs. I will tell you that it is a solid roller, and requires lots of maintenance. Also, you have to run high quality parts, it is destructive because you have to run 650# valve springs
@@trumiketru thanks I'd appreciate it and I'm currently setting my motor up for a solid roller now ,Bam solid rollers, comp roller rockers ,rollmaster timing chain torrington bearing . I had a custom cam ground by bullet cams duration at .50 234/238 lobe lift .3533 .3533 seperation 109 timing events 12 42 52 6 duration at .20 288/292 gross valve lift .611/.611 valve lash .10 intake degree at 105
@@trumiketru I have no idea what this will sound like though my guess is not as nice as yours.
@@trumiketru I forgot to mention that I'm building a stroker, 351C molnar forged crank molnar forged rods, mahle dished 10:5:1 pistons ...408 stroker
@@fredranalli3504 mine is 289 297 adv. 256 264 @.050 .650/.650 102 ls, it has a very aggressive ramp angle. It's a custom grind from lunati. When I ordered it, the specs I gave them was 256C 264C 102 +4 on the intake
Im 14 and got a 1970 mustang coupe restoration and puting a 351 cleveland hoss and tips or anything i should know
Search for the 351 Cleveland forums. There tons of link and info there, and guys with way more knowledge than me.
My whipped n’ oily 190hp sbc with a blown head gasket would blow this things doors off… I’m joking man.. sweet car, don’t see too many of them anymore, don’t sell it, you’ll regret it
SICK!!!!!!!
They're fun, but yeah, dirty motors.
Fucking gnarly, shitting bald eagles

old Broncos are cool - still have the XR7?
I do, drove it yesterday. She has been neglected since I got the bronco, but I'm going to start working on it soon, big brakes are next on the list
@@trumiketru Good to hear. Fire it up and post another vid. when you get a chance

Man brother that 351 Cleveland sounds nasty mate.
Give us the specs on parts used
That thing sounds awesome!!! Love the Cleveland and I am mostly a GM guy. Badass!!!!
Ok
My dad has a 65 mustang that's cammed and the profile is so large it can't idle without it stalling
I don’t know if a better sounding muscle car than that! I love the sound of flowmasters on a canned Ford, especially this one. The last time I heard a Cleveland it was in a panthers with poppy and raspy sounding mufflers. This one makes me want to build mine.
Ain't nothing like a Cleveland 👌
The best engine ford ever made
@@terrypresnell7874 FACT
@@terrypresnell7874 one of the best Ford made .
Yes, what the Mopar 318 polysphere would have been if Chrysler had put the effort into developing it.
It's a custom grind solid roller from lunati.. 650/.650 256/264@.050 11.25:1 compression

they are 3 inch 40 series flowmasters with turndowns before the axle and an x-pipe. I will get more videos up as i get a chance to work on it and drive it more
You gonna post more videos ?
Dude!! You took me back 30 years. I had a friend that I helped build a Boss 302, single plan, solid lifter. I love the Cleveland in all it's forms. It is amazing how much it sounds like that Boss 302. Thank you. Pssst. My first car was 1970 Cougar, 351C Thanks again.
Patrick Farmer so. .for those of us that don't know engines..what make this better than a Windsor? Or other big engines?
Dave with a fire axe standing on a hill of skulls The Cleveland has heads with huge valves compared to the Windsor making the engine super efficient. The boss 302 is a 302 block using the Cleveland heads and that's what makes it a legend.
The Windsor only needs a thousand or two dollars spent on aftermarket heads to breathe.
Yooo my first car was a 70 cougar
