"Shaving Under The Nose" : Technique Curves and Angles - Safety Razor Shave

Answering the question "how do I shave under the nose with a safety razor"... Curving in both upward and downward action is emphasised. I demonstrate technique, angles, understanding of the cutting edge relative to the skin/curvatures and pitfalls to avoid. Oh, it's a yaqi synthetic brush but not the ...

Shaving with catridge blade is different than safety razor. You only glide it keeping the blade flat on skin once. That’s it. Shouldn’t shave a area multiple times like a safety razor

The GC 68 was a bit mild for me and the 84p a bit too much as a daily shaver. The GC 76 hit perfectly in the middle of the two, and ended up being my sweet spot for daily shaving.

I have a Gillette Tech, made in England, I guess from the 1970's. I believe the model is "The Sportsman" Tech. It's identical to the one you show except the inside of the cap lacks to two male studs, so there evidently were some manufacturing differences. I don't care for the alu handle and have substituted a heavier (claims to be stainless steel) one from a cheap Chinese clone. The blade alignment is excellent, as is the shave it gives, which I would describe as mild and forgiving. I great beginner's razor.

Thanks for this video. For a beginning budget shaver I'd recommend an inexpensive MingShi (or QShave or Yintal) adjustable safety razor. They can better adapt to one's shaving skill, plus can adapt to various lengths of beard growth. For building a lather (and most efficiency) I'd recommend a budget 26mm or larger synthetic brush with a moderately comfortable handle, like a RazoRock 'Monster' or Yintal 'Lucky Dice' brush. [Yaqi makes a pricier version]. One might be able to find a tub of Proraso shaving soap (or Derby 'Moisturizing Shaving Cream') in a surplus store, if one is so lucky. Both make very good lather. One can make plenty of lather by spreading only a pea-sized amount in a cheap plastic salsa bowl, working it with a barely damp brush, immediately extracting any lather stuck in the knot, adding a very small amount of water, then re-work/re-extract a very few times until you get as much lather as you need. (I've been wet-shaving 7 years and I'm still not half way through a tub of Proraso, but I also have other soaps..). For most people only lesser quality wet-shaving products are available locally, which will give them an unfortunate a reason to 'upgrade' (and spend more money on questionable products). If one can wait for 'Black Friday' sales, many of these budget options are available at even better prices from online specialty retailers. Maybe consider a 100-pack of Gillette Nacet or Treet Platinum blades.... Hopefully some of these budget options are worth considering.

I think the disposable razor does best for head shaves. I have a beard, so I don't shave there. I use tweezers on wild cheek hairs. Sometimes I shave under my neck. A friend bought a Pitbull battery skull shaver. He wasn't impressed with it. They were popular ads a few months ago. 🐛
