Amazing tutorial video mate. Keep up the good shaves. I am sure who have watched this video have certainly changed their misconception of getting cuts and nicks with a DE razor.

Thank you for your feedback and support. Yes flawless shaves are possible to master with a DE safety razor. Technique is really important and I hope that what I have demonstrated helps others achieve that flawless shave minimising or eliminating cuts and nicks.

@@subhranilghatak1618 That is my hope. Even with my big nose, I can shave around with ease, so that's my guarantee that I think anyone can do it!!! :)

Great video. I only straight shave, but watched intently the whole way through. Oh, and I always shave against the grain under my nose and have had no mishaps (jinx)

That's terrific stuff! Shaving against the grain under the nose requires a good deal of control and until a shaver develops that level of fine motor skill then I prefer to err on the side of caution. After they have that level of skill then it becomes a moot point.
Even on youtube I've seen some pretty terrible cuts from guys using SRs. I was told by a guy who is an infrequent and inexperienced motorcyclist that he believes a good motorcyclist has had to ditch their bike a couple of times on the public roads when turning corners. Personally I think he is nuts and this is riding to die. My approach is to progressively build one's skill with as little error as possible then gradually extend one's skill. Perfect practice makes perfect.
I believe and correct me if I am wrong that it took you some time to develop the skill you currently possess to go against the grain under the nose. It took me 8 shaves with the feather SS to get right with it.

Do you ever use any pre shave products, and if you do, what do you use or recommend? Cheers.

Yes I have used preshave products. The prorasso ones do well. But most of the time I prefer just having a good soap.
The funny thing is I have a box of products still to use on the channel including preshave stuff. I will be using it in upcoming videos.
However you'll see in my videos, when I have heavier growth, I use warm to hot water to soften and hydrate the beard and will keep apply the water sometimes for several minutes. In winter especially so. Then I'll use a little of the lather and work it in by hand this helps emulsify any oils on the skin and allow the soap to better penetrate and create a slick surface. After that I brush on the lather, sometimes more working in with fingers and finally a second brush of lather before that first pass.
The first pass is essentially where most of the cutting occurs and where the layer of slickness is laid down. After the first pass, I rinse and see if there is residual slickness and then go for my second lather and second pass.
I've used preshave oils, preshave pastes etc. But my method above is my go to. In fact good preshave/soaps are better to shave with alone, I don't feel the need to apply 2 layers of different products to get a slick cutting surface.
I'll make videos talking about all kinds of things.
*Hint: applying a preshave oil and then a soap... the soap emulsifies the oil.
