      Perez has sponsors, big ones - Disney and the Mexican who was once the No.2 richest man in the world - has LOTS of fans in North America (remember where Mexico is? And what country it borders?), and because of that second one sells tons of Red Bull. And he's not as bad as you think, since most F1 fans and pundits suffer from recency bias.

    You know your video is Awesome, but I have to correct you about something that most formula 1 RUclipsrs say and is not right; In the Race, Carlos doesn't have a similar Pace with Charles Leclerc; according to @formulapace, which have Data between 2021-2023, Leclerc is 2 tenths of a second faster in race pace than Carlos, and actually we can see it clearly in the races ...is pretty common we watch Charles being faster than Sainz and finish the race ahead for like 4 or 5 seconds and still with good tyres. It makes more sense say that they finish the race close to each other when speaks about race position.

    • @f1alpaca
      @f1alpaca 2 дня назад

      Yes, you're right, Leclerc is sometimes two-tenths faster than Carlos, but what I've noticed is that whichever driver is in front during the race generally has better pace and usually finishes ahead, assuming there’s no tire offset. So qualifying and the race start play a big part in that, which I find really interesting because it’s not the same with other top team drivers. So while I agree that Leclerc is a bit faster than Sainz, I feel that overall it doesn't have a significant impact on the races.

    Concering how strong yukis season has been and the improvements he has made and the consistensy he has shown in scoring points on many ocations in a midfield car it would be intressting to see how he would perform in a front running car so he definitly deserves atleast half a season in redbull to show what he can do

  • @ILUVJDM0051

    Yuki isn't mature enough, he's easily frustrated and doesn't provide solid car feedback like Ricardo or Lawson. Dont get me wrong Yuki is a good driver, but dont get me wrong, but he is only there because redbull is making honda happy.

    Lando Nowins is now Lando Throwins. He crumbles under pressure and almost never converts on Sunday. He has the most consistent car (usually the best), and has only got one lucky win off the back of a well timed safety car. Even with his points tally and podium count (expected given the car), I just cannot see how you could have him with Max or above the Merc/Ferrari pair. This is just opinions though, so either way, this is a very well constructed video and I enjoy the fact you've included a rating for those obviously held back by the car (a point many people leave out when rating).

    I respect your decisions but have to disagree with some placements. I know the sauber drives like it could be confused for the safety car but Zhou in the same tier as Alonso just pains me. My Opinion vvv: S: Maxiepoo A+: Leclerc A: Norris, Piastri, Sainz, Russel, Hamilton, Huuuulkenberg B: Alonso, Albon, Ocon, Gasly, Yuki C: Bottas, Ricciardo, Stroll, Perez, Magnussen D: Sargeant, Zhou

    • @f1alpaca
      @f1alpaca 5 дней назад

      See, you're being biased by putting Leclerc in A+. Look, the rest of your ratings are almost fine, but the sport doesn't work like a high school test where you just look at the drivers' results and grade them accordingly. There are so many other factors to consider. You can't compare drivers from top teams with those in the midfield because, first, they don't have the same level of cars, and second, the pressure at top teams is much higher. That's why I created the 'midfield gods' tier, which is the same as the top tier but for drivers in the midfield. I feel like people have misunderstood the tiers I've created. Putting Nico in the same tier as the top team drivers would be unfair to everyone. Compared to Sargeant, Zhou has been much closer to Valtteri, and Zhou has a higher finishing position than Bottas as well. He's been behind in qualifying, but I've already mentioned that. The tier where I put Alonso and Zhou is exactly what it says, 'Held back by car.' It means the drivers could've done much better with a more competitive package. Drivers in that tier are the ones who have shown comparable performances or have outperformed their teammates. It doesn't mean that I'm comparing Zhou with Alonso. You can never compare a two-time world champion, one of the best drivers of all time, with a driver who has only driven for two and a half years in a slow midfield car. I'm sorry if my tiers caused any confusion. I didn't think people would see the tiers as grades, otherwise, I'd have clarified that in the video.

      Sure, he's only got one win, but he's closest to Max in terms of performance. Max is only miles ahead because the car was really dominant at the beginning, but Lando is catching up. Yes, Lando made some mistakes that cost him wins, but so has Max. When you look overall, Lando is the one in championship contention. That's how I see it. @@f1alpaca I see it as since Miami McLaren has had the best car. In that time he’s had 1 win, his teammate has 1, leclerc and Russell have 1 Hamilton has 2 and max has 3. For me that’s not good enough, for a driver in the fastest car, I think max has gained his lead on him every race bar 2 since Miami, which he shouldn’t be doing. He’s still up there but you can’t call him 2nd best on the same level as max when max is massively outperforming him mostly in a worse car. For me the 2nd best probably has been Hulkenberg on the whole, sainz leclerc and Russell have had their moments, but Hulkenberg is in a haas constantly getting good quali results and converting most, and has finished p11 a bunch so his points don’t even paint the full picture. Up until Hungary he’d finished in the top 11 every time he finished with a few p6s in probably the 8th best car on average this season, 7th at times

    «And if he continues this momentum, he will no doubt be ahead of his seven time world champion teammate». It´s literally the oposite. Lewis started slowly and now is beating him. He was better in Spain, Silverstone ( Rusell best case scenario would be a p3), was better in Hungary and was better in Belgium ( outqualified him by a lot, took the lead on track, and managed perfectly the race. George car was illegal, and, in order to make that strategy work, or he would have made an extra stop, finishing fifth, or he would have to manage more, and a heavier car, so basically, Lewis and Piastri would pass him. While I agree with you that Lewis has been getting better in the last few races (I've mentioned that too), I wouldn't say that Russell has gone bad and that Lewis is outperforming him. In Hungarian GP qualifying, it was partially the team's fault for sending him out on low fuel on an improving track, which cost him in the race. At Silverstone, he suffered a DNF, again totally out of his control. Spa was a shame because the win was stripped from him. I wouldn't hold these unfortunate instances against him. For me, if it weren't for these misfortunes, he would have been quite ahead of Lewis in points. That's why I don't think he's falling behind Lewis and have rated him higher than Lewis. Yes, Lewis is improving, but George still holds the edge. Or at least that's what I've deduced from the first half of the season.

And Hungary is Lewis best track. George doens´t have the pace to challege Lewis at that track. Perez was even faster than him. My problem with your assesment is that, in my view of course, the trajectory is for Lewis to keep getting better and better. George was performing better but that stoped since Spain, even acouting for his bad luck. On pure driver performance , Lewis has been better than George since that race. Just one less win, come on. It's true his race starts haven't been great and have cost him places, but when you look at the overall picture, he's the one who has had the most consistent performances, whether it be in qualifying or the race. Ocon with mental control and a good car would certainly be a title contender; he clearly has the skill.

      He’s lost to Gasly, Ricciardo and Perez as teammates. You need to beat those drivers if you want to win a title.

    I like Zhou but bad luck likes him more. is he getting a seat in 2025?

    • @f1alpaca
      @f1alpaca 20 дней назад

      It's hard to say if he'll get a seat in 2025. I think he should because he has shown many times that he has the potential to perform at a very high level given a competitive package. However, there aren't many seat options left now.

    Strolls dad bought out his own team in Formula 3 as well. They also got found out for illegally upgrading the suspension for the car. The family buy themselves victories.

    As a Zhou fan, I feel that his weak point is qualifying and having to make up for it in the races (similar to what we’ve seen with Lance Stroll) Zhou is definitely a quick driver and as I said in another comment, I think his best bet is rejoining Alpine but this time as a driver
