A fail, unfortunately. 01/10/24 0917 I don't know where the fail is, actually. The candidate chose not to let me accompany her on the test and for the briefing. Also the email result hasn't been sent. I think it could be an observational fault. Also! There is a copyright strike against part of the video. DVSA guide to driving - Stay in your lane: Once you're in your lane, stay in it and follow the road markings to your exit. Funny turn given that the left hand lane traffic often goes straight on here. The van could have been in big trouble if it had gone wrong.
Don't follow me, I'm lost too!

I don't quite know how lost this person was in the red car. Not just the wrong lane to turn right on a roundabout, but appears to want to go 4th exit or more. Maybe they forgot their lunch.

I live in a borough in NW London (Brent). There are loads of these type of junction, and at every one, lurking about 30 yards away, is a council camera car pointing straight at the junction. They're cash cows. Makes me wonder if they serve a genuine traffic easing purpose, or are they just there to pick the pockets of disgruntled drivers.
Right... you're **technically** correct, but they only add to the congestion if it is not clear to go. The first vehicle who had to stop and wait is in the wrong, for sure. The other 2, who quickly followed in the gap both ways, have taken some initiative and used some common sense in my opinion. I'm not hating on the video, especially as you've not said or done anything wrong, just voicing an opinion as I believe common sense is lacking on the roads 😇
@@fords005 healthy debate!
What about a mini-roundabout? Yes there is the wait for your turn, but traffic does move.
The 4:58 incident on the roundabout, the other car didn't indicate. So its intention was to follow the lane and go straight a head (I believe), So i think it was a harsh decision. Especially as they managed to stop for it in time.
@@redginge4840 the examiner used the dual controls so the candidate didn't stop in time really.
@@Nav1g8r1 Wow, that puts it in a very different light.
The student and instructor must have both realised it was a fail after the lorry incident. It's a sick feeling. It would have been kinder of the examiner to say, "Let's just head home".
@@redginge4840 sometimes you think that
13.12 be careful the have a mini roundabout sing but is old roundabout they chancing to junction Examer didn’t tell you nothing even sat nav tell you next mini roundabout
Pointless rules are bound to be ignored. If these drivers were simply empty headed they’d blindly stick to an unnecessary left turn. I get that we’re all part of a system, and ideally, the rules should be followed to the dot. But for that to work, the system itself needs to be perfect, and it obviously isn’t. What I don’t understand is how you can look at a situation like this and blame the drivers who are simply adapting to an illogical rule, instead of focusing on the people responsible for creating rules that don’t reflect real world needs. These drivers are likely locals who have to navigate that junction daily. All the extra time wasted on taking pointless left turns, only to circle back, adds up. It’s no wonder people would choose to check for safety and move on-it’s more efficient, less polluting, and reduces unnecessary road risks. It’s like getting irritated at someone for going 42 in a 40. They’re not being reckless; they’re making a reasonable decision based on the circumstances.

At 6:30 if the examiner ask to pull over , do you have to be partially on the verge or four wheels on road? Thanks
All 4 wheels in the road, even though the markings show that you could.
@@Nav1g8r1 thank you Ryan! So, that mean fail if you pulled over the verge?
@@yberi3467 yes, that's right

You missed speed sign and don't know the speed limit. What should you do?
@@ramandeepkaur5 speak to your instructor. Drive to the conditions, weather, road surface, traffic etc. So the default speed limit is 30 where there are lampposts. All the rest is signed at the side of the road except NSL. NSL doesn't have lampposts at the side of the road, unless it is a dual carriageway. (sometimes)!
Thanks.
Where did he fail ? I didn't see any wrong. Can you reply which one is his fault please. Thank you!
27:03 at the junction, turn right then turn left at the mini roundabout.
Thank you I've seen it now. Is that safe to pull over on broken cycle lane if the examiner ask?
@@yberi3467 yeah. You can stop. It's not a solid line.
@@Nav1g8r1 thank you again
And it’s the best
Yeah it’s good for me
Why did the learner keep to the right lane on a slip road 21:52
You can use either lane to join the dual carriageway, as long as you join following your routines. The default lane is the left hand side but the candidate didn't do anything wrong on this occasion
Thanks mate I have my test soon so I wanted to be sure, so keeping on the right on the slip road wouldn't get you any fault init ?

It is actually straight on making it the left lane even though it is past 12 and 3rd exit doesn't nessarilly make it a right turn. On this roundabout the 4th exit is right. To take 3rd its left lane despite being past 12 you can use the right lane to go straight but have to be aware of traffic in the left lane. I would personally use the left lane ae the first 2 exits are so far left making the 3rd exit straight on despite being past 12 and the 4th exit is further around making it the right. Its a roundabout where the rule bool gets thrown out of the window
It’s coz people don’t count the actually second exit as it doesn’t go all the way through so they count that one as the second exit instead of 3rd exit, it can become complicated if you don’t know ashington area but very easy to use once you understand the logic behind it
Subscribed you just now.
@@asifalsunny7447 thanks for subscribing!
This always annoyed me, I think it counts as straight ahead because technically the right exit road bends right. So that's why I think they put it past 12 on the sign. But in my opinion, it should still be at 12 on the sign even though the actual road bends slightly.
And the annoying bit isn't just having to learn individual weird junctions to pass the test, it's how I'm supposed to deal with roundabouts in an unknown area when driving there for the first time.
@@FLASH24x it's a tough one. Often signage is not reflective if what is actually there. A little bit of improvisation and practice on regular roundabouts should set you up nicely for the complex ones. Or so you would think.
How should have the leaner responded to the overtaking car? I thought that would be a learners fault only if he had been driving much below the speed limit and forced a car to overtake.
@@arun1paladin so... Mirror checks. If you see a car overtake, don't accelerate until the car has passed. Maintain speed.
