Hi Ryan, I recently switched my test from Sunderland to Gosforth after having to make a sudden move here. I'm planning to practise the Gosforth test routes privately with my parents. Do you have any recommendations for difficult spots to focus on I.e. roundabouts, junctions, etc that are known to catch learners out? Cheers in advance.

What’s confusing about pulling up at 16:37 is that there is a white semi-square suggesting that half of the wheels need to be on the road and the other half of the pavement, and if you look further along and other spaces half of the white square is on the road and the other half is on pavement suggesting the same thing. In the test would you just ignore this and park fully on the road with all 4 wheels on the road?

Yes. The examiner has said 'stop on the left where it is safe to do so, keeping all 4 wheels on the road.' when I accompanied them on a previous test.
It was really specific to that stop, as they never said it anywhere else.
The examiner wouldn't fail for driving on the kerb at that point, just a minor, but why ignore the examiner at that point :)

When I stop a safe distance from the car in front so that I can see the two back tyres of the car ahead, the passenger's height (and thus his perspective) could make him think I've stopped too close to the car in front if they aren't as tall as me. As I am a tall driver, should I stop further back to enable the examiner see the two tyres of the car in front. Or will he be able to judge that I've stopped the correct distance behind?

@@akinyemiegbe9606 tyres and tarmac is a rough stopping distance from the car in front so that if something hit you, you won't push into the car in front.
As it's a rough guess, then stop where you think you can see the two tyres. The examiner will see that too.
