Sniper with a HEN Blade 160gpm@50psi with a Turbo plus 25psi Backpressure Increasers
Great hose, when dealing with 63lbs nozzle reaction with a 50psi back pressure leads to excellent performance. Now this example has increased the back pressure by 25psi with the same 160gpm@50psi nozzle pressure and 63 lbs reaction force. In other words a 75psi back pressure with all the advantages of the 50psi nozzle pressure. It is possible with the HEN Turbo 160gpm Back Pressure Increaser.
HEN Turbo, Back Pressure Increaser, A Large Problem Solver
160gpm@50psi@60lbsRF, with a 75psi Inlet Back Pressure Addresses These Issues:
1. Nozzle Bite, easier stiffer/handling, leads to better water placement.
2. Reduces Nozzle (Weight / RF) & Hose (Construction) induced whip in the Small Handline si...

Wildland season is around the corner, many are fielding the HEN adjustable smooth bore nozzles as their go to vegetation fire suppression stream development system for a reason. They provide superior stream dynamics from Blade to Tight mode, HEN adjustable smooth bore nozzles are the best forestry nozzle made today, take a look this one is common sense. Available for order in 20, 30 and 45gpm @...
UL Fire Attack Experiment#11 Flow & Move Narrow Fog (What I was looking for, & choose to be there)
Просмотров 5286 месяцев назад
I took this video, and this experiment was one I was very interested in. Their was a debate about what a narrow fog consisted of, 20-30 degrees. 30 degrees is mentioned often in texts. What I was looking for, how good is the "sealing" of the advance for lack of a better term of hallway during flow and move. I expected good, as a 30 degree fog nozzle with no movement has basically equal air entr...

This is simply a modified fog nozzle. Droplets of water move air. A line moving 150-180 gpm covers an entire room quite well with little movement simply based on velocity alone. Look at the water mapping studies done by FSRI. a solid bore will move closer to 200 gpm at 50psi and so sheer volume and limited velocity will overcome the fire without need to cover an area with a modified fog line. I look at this line as simply an attempt to decrease the amount of air entrainment for fog nozzle adherents. There is little to no explanation of what issue is this nozzle attempting to solve that isn’t being done with our current lines.

Edge concertation vs tiny droplets and spread out over large spaces. www.linkedin.com/in/dennis-legear-54659140/ read the articles. I have been truly impressed, was hired to prove pattern. I said I was hired to disprove pattern ve existing patterns. I have thrown every monkey wrench at it. If my hose was on fire and my family was on the line... Bladed Pattern at 160gpm@50psi with a Turbo 75psi back pressure would be what I want to show up in a qualified Nozzleman hands.

Do you think overall gallons used will be less than what was documented by UL in their interior and exterior hose stream study? You discuss the overall gallons used on 1 and 2 room compartment fires being pretty much less than 200 gallons while flowing and moving. All things being equal with a smooth bore vs blade at 160gpm, do you think that the coverage provided by the blade would reduce water usage and increase effectiveness? Really awesome to see history in the making.

The easy at which the pattern is applied, with the down stream coverage enhancements, picking more fuel simultaneously with a still concentrated GPS per sq foot in the 80 oz or greater sweeps, plus the already large droplet storm front of the nozzle in the gas column pre object impact. This creates a proximal cooling by the nozzle immediately, allowing a better advancing path for the nozzle team, plus a most like a higher rate of change with gas being contracted and with better make up air, proper amounts of air entrainment with less work. You add this up all together and equal nozzle men / women 7/8 vs 160 Blade will do better quicker suppression with the blade. Often that will lead to less water use, the more important item is it helps the nozzle position perform better at their key functions.. Its a extremely good equipment enhancement in mission both life and property. I have produced a series of articles here traying to explain it.. www.linkedin.com/in/dennis-legear-54659140/

Paul Grimwood has had a lot of expose to the high pressure/low flow European style of firefighting so for him to pick a solid high flowing line is very telling.
