Sharing my motorcycle repairs, and motorcycle restorations with others. My interests are in 1960's and 1970's Japanese made motorcycles, mostly dirt bikes, dual purpose, and street scramblers of the era. You will see full restorations, engine work, machine work, welding and painting, all having to do with these older bikes. Follow along, I want you to hang out with me in my shop. I will show you how to repair components, not just replace parts. Based in Montana USA.

Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Месяц назад
In this video we take the Campus 60 for a ride and find it wasn't shifting into 3rd gear. All down shifts worked well. The bike also died on me on the ride after about a mile. It would start back up but if given any throttle it would die again. Sounds like a blocked pilot jet, also wondered about a bad condenser or coil. But it really sounds more like the pilot jet. I did adjust the shifter suc...

Measurements don't lie. Your preliminary measurements verified that the crank was pinched when checking runout. I really like your in-depth analysis.

Excellent in depth two-parter on that crank build Dale. Enjoyed watching the process. Greetings from the Isle of Wight, UK.
😊Good morning Dale. After finishing up with the TS400 engine, I feel a little more comfortable about working on some other spare engines that I have. Thanks for everything. Have a great weekend. Very nice work!
Dale that was very informative thank you .
I graduated in 75 and these bikes were popular I had the 75 Yamaha I purchased new. I never should've sold it but back then they were all over. Love the Two Stroke sound and simplicity. We never saw it coming that they would be outlawed. One Rocket launch from our Billionaires would equal all our two stroke bikes pollution combined from then till now.

I reckon it'll be a smooth revver now.
all sounds good Dale, thanks ,hearing in one ear isnt fun.
I'm watching casually here after a tired day with electronics repair.
GM Dale Here with coffee at 5 am learning from you doing the crank. Learning a lot thanks Dale
Hi Dale, when I was much younger, I never dreamed that the ball and roller bearings would go bad just by sitting, well I was wrong, I have seen the damaged bearings. the engineer I was working with told me that it was from electrolysis damage. that really was a wakeup call for me. my last job we had to rotate the large motors in storage once a month to help this problem. now I worry about the motorcycle that I have in storage with a ball and roller bearing crank. Rich
Still very much the best crankshaft videos on RUclips Dale. You analyse because you have an engineer's mind. Data equals decisions. I just hope that the video you watched where the guy got it wrong, wasn't me! Best wishes, Dean.
