    Hi, thanks for the video and nailing down the problem. I have completely same issue - broken 2 nozzles that came with the printer. Additionally second nozzle damaged printing surface and yes I printed only PETG. After a week of communication with Sovol and sending them photos of the damaged parts and photo of the serial number of the printer they finally send me replacement parts. Since the parts shipped from China it will take up to 3 weeks to deliver :( . While I waiting the replacement of the standard nozzle I decided to buy on Aliexpress in Sovol official store the nozzle made from the hardened steel and has thread so it will not have same problems as the original nozzle shipped with printer.

  • @oleurgast730
    @oleurgast730 17 дней назад

    I made the error of ordering it in printed alluminium. It required some postprocessing (the 4mm bore for the tube was too rough and I used a drill to "polish" it inside and the little bore at the top I also had to widhen a little). However, I paid 88€ for two heatsinks, so I think the extra work is worth it. Everything works well. Actually there is an alternative to custom made heatsinks. Some people already made adapters to insert Bambulabs X1C or P1S/P1P hotends into the SV08. You could use such an adapter and a Panda Revo for the X1C. While the Panda Revo normaly costs about 160€, sometimes on sales using coupons and points, you can get down to a hundred Euros on Aliexpress (I got one for 102€, but I use it in my Qidi X-Max 3). However, one downside of all solutions for Revo at the moment: It conflicts with solutions to use the Biqu microprobe II. I manually modified my coldend to make both fit, using a file. Maybe the best solution would be to design an adapter to use the Revo Voron coldend inside the SV08. In the new PZ-version, so the hotend automaticly becomes the ABL-Sensor. Do not forget to set the slicing direction to clockwise in Orca Slicer if using Revo. Standard is counter-clockwise. A counter-clockwise drawn circle actually creates a smal momentum unscrewing your Revo nozzle. Esp. using organic supports, this could cause problems.

      @MaximalistWorkshop Месяц назад

      Sure thing - if I'm understanding "mc", that's probably not high enough flow for the SV08, though. The SV08's hotend is rated at 30 cubic mm, and speeds as low as 420 mm/s using a .4 mm nozzle width and .2 layer height probably uses all of that volumetric flow. Since the SV08 is meant to be able to move as fast as 700 mm/s, it arguably needs something more powerful than even its stock hotend. That said, there's no reason a hotend couldn't be designed to run at 50 or 100 cubic mm using a CHC/v6 nozzle

However, upon further inspection, these "new" threaded nozzles seem to reuse the nozzles of the SV06+, which were not compatible with Volcano-style nozzles due to the tip on standard Volcano nozzles being much shorter. There might be some configuration magic to make it work, but I was hoping for a drop-in replacement. Also, putting the heater block directly against the filament instead of having a nozzle in-between them can provide improved thermal performance and thermal stability. Not saying press-fit nozzles are a good thing, and I agree with you intuitively, but Bambu and others did have at least some reason to switch. Since Bambu doesn't have this issue anymore and hasn't in a long time, it seems fair to say that press fit nozzles can be fine. Also seems worth pointing out that none of the press-fit nozzles from Sovol except for the original silver ones that Sovol said had QC issues are failing, which at least suggests that the design was fine. Otherwise, we'd see bronze nozzles popping out of the hotends, too.

      "Resolved" is a strong word in our view. Sovol agreed to send out grub screw hotends to anyone who requests them due to PETG concerns, but it remains to be seen whether and when they actually do so. As of our writing this, MW hasn't received any.

    Have you tried the bambu Lab hotend mod?

      Not yet. Since Bambu Lab hotend mods are the first thing that gets made for any printer these days, I think they're great and I'm glad they exist, but they're not super exciting to play with. I was thinking it'd maybe be cool to get one of the adaptors CNCed, though. I'll probably put one together in a month or two when I do a SV08 hotend tier list or something.

    I got my printer yesterday (ordered 24.07) and the stock nozzle is still the old silver one (no thread or bronze) but ordered the new hardened steel nozzle and hope it will arrive shortly. Does anybody know if I have to have a failure one the nozzle to get a replacement with the new one?

      Sovol announced a day or so ago that if you email them and let them know that you are planning to print with PETG, they will replace any of the old model nozzles for free. ruclips.net/channel/UCYhM6mA76jjTMER5YTdgDSwcommunity?lb=Ugkx65kAu1Tp3qsVGOQRy_S6Xv0XPhUGC7ik

    I swapped my SV08 over to the bambu knockoff hotends. It was a really simple swap. The peace of mind and hardened steel nozzle was well worth it.

    Press fit nozzle? Such a bad idea. Every other printer is threaded or witha grub screw.

      Aren't Bambu Lab nozzles press fit? I remember seeing similar failures to the ones Sovol is having now on the Bambu Lab X1C. I think it might be press fit on the Adventurer 5M series, too. The new K1C unicorn hotends have a press fit insert, as well. None of these have grub screws that I'm aware of.

    This doesn't make any sense, its not even close to the price point of the Flashforge 5m... I have had 3 K1 printers, returned every one of them... I have had my 5m, not one single issue, just prints (don't believe the crap about the build plate, just wash it with a quality dishwashing liquid and apply some elmer's purple school glue ( this protects the build plate from PETG and TPU and makes PLA just stick!)
