6 Soft Impact sounds, 6 Medium Impact sounds, 6 Hard Impact sounds, a Scraping sound, and if it's round, a Rolling sound. For every single object in the entire game. For example, two models of different kinds of scissors each have their own full set of sounds, rather than sharing a set. SOMA's sound designer went to warehouses, pools, lakes, kitchens, and everywhere inbetween. He stepped on glass with boots, pushed dry ice into old metal sheets, threw stuff, smashed stuff, and had a blast while doing it. To my knowledge, not a single stock sound was used in the game; the resulting quality is a direct reflection of this passion and effort.

The chicken shooter game is a remaster of Morhuhnjaghd from the 90s. Us post soviet east euros played it a lot.

The one game i liked from Data Design Interactive was Austin Cooper S Racing (could also be nostalgia)

11:50 - This might be a bit of a hot take but if a game takes less time to complete (without speedrunning) than the grace window for a refund, that game shouldn't be sold for money.

9:17 - Pancake Bar Tycoon, Death and Taxes, and Sudo Cats, all of which are shovelware. Might want to redo your hypothesis about trophies and the eShop being immune to shovelware, when it's right there when you open up the eShop.

Hell, I had a copy of a Crazy Chicken game (The Good, The Egg and the Ugly) where he runs through a jungle avoiding obstacles. Pretty decent platformer. Sad to see it's been reduced to just shovelware slop...

Sorry but I would disagree about Superman 64 being shovelware, that is just a bad game. It had tons of advertising budget, something shovelware doesn't usually have. The devs that made it didn't just make it real quick. Superman 64 is an example of a really bad game.

Seeing the Crazy Chicken title takes me back to when I played Crazy Chicken’s Atlantis Quest on the DS. Definitely a rushed game, controls are hit or miss, but simply loved it cause it was mindless platforming with somewhat banger of a soundtrack.

You can search by genre on the switch eshop. Go to the search tab on the top, and there should be a search by genre option. Its still not good, but if you really want to search by rpg you can do it

Both the WiiU and the 3DS eShops had curated lists, recommendations by users and a better sort function by game genres. It also tells you which games had a physical release and which ones are digital only. The Switch eShop is literally worst in every single way except maybe the starting load time.

I dont really get how the people or algorithm or whatever that is over the ps store because there are so many mobile/ai games its absurd.

There are a good number of these games and they are fairly iconic. It certainly surprises me that they got released on current gen tho, they feel like a relic of when physical PC releases were still popular in the 2000s and early 2010s.

0:04, I have on switch, and 3DS "Crazy Chicken" also known as Morhun is a long running series since the pc of chicken games from (i believe? Germany) he even had his own cartoon- So one could argue Morhun is more quote "lisenced slop" but since the games came first technically speaking it's just a long running game series
