Philips Norelco 9400 vs Philips Norelco 7300
The Philips Norelco 9400 and Philips Norelco 7300 are both pretty good shavers. I think the 9400 wins out in the Shaver Battle because it has more cutting actions per second and more self-sharpening blades. I believe those 2 improvements gave me less irritation with the 9400 versus the 7300.

    • @ShaverDude
      @ShaverDude 2 часа назад

      @@GoldEagle141 yes, the 9400 is good for sensitive skin. It has a special coating on the head for smoothly gliding over your skin. I do not have a very thick or tough beard so I cannot say for sure. I am guessing it would do well, but for really thick and fast growing beards the S9000 Prestige or the Braun Series 9 Pro are probably the best way to go.

    I can't imagine how many returns these companies get (and what they do with them). Especially since everybody's face reacts differently to all the shaver styles. I currently use the Norelco 3800 and it does a very decent job (with the Norelco original blades). I bought the Chinese knock-off replacements and they suck. They're trash. Stay away from those. So now I have to order the REAL Norelco replacements. I'm always on the lookout for a Braun or a more top of the line Norelco if I can find a good sale. Maybe even a Panasonic as I've heard they actually cut very close. Like the ARC-5 or something. Thanks!

      @@ShaverDude Thanks for responding. And please know that you are not alone. I have put this question out to over three dozen thee-and-aye RUclipsrs during the past couple of years. Unfortunately, only one (beside you) responded civilly, if at all. And he didn't really have a good idea why he did it. I'll offer you my thoughts. First, although I obviously know nothing about your personal life, I feel confident that you don't speak this way in everyday conversation. Very few people do. So that would pretty much eliminate the geographical-accent theory. I've noticed people revert to this way of speaking when in front of an audience, or even just with someone they perceive as higher status. In short, I think it's a subconscious attempt to sound smarter. There are times when the aye and thee pronunciations are correct -- e.g., immediately before some words beginning with a vowel. But we're not dealing with that here. I believe you and other RUclipsrs are using it as a way to create emphasis. Like if I said, "You are THEE RUclips channel to watch for shaver reviews." (Meaning, you're the best.) Used once in a while, for the right reason and at the right time, this can be useful and effective. But when used frequently and without other purpose, it's simply too much emphasis. It is as if we are saying that "Every thing I say is extremely important!" It is akin to TYPING IN ALL CAPS. The listener feels as if they're being shouted at, even though no actual shouting is taking place. (Incidentally, my father used to do this when I was a kid and making fun tape recordings. I noticed it, but what too young to question why he was doing that. Now I recognize that he was playacting a character that he wanted to sound smart.) How does all this land with you...?

    I started my electric shaving journey with a few Brauns and at a certain moment switched to Philips and never looked back. For me Philips shavers have some distinct advantages over Braun. Firstly, for my heavier beard grow rotary Philips shavers give better results especially in the more challenging areas like the neck and the jaw. Probably results vary person to person. Secondly, Philips shaving heads last for many many years,much longer than the recommended two years. Currently I have a shaver with heads 11 years old used daily with quite heavy beard grow and only now I was thinking of replacing the heads although it still delivers decent results. I finally decided to upgrade to this newest S9000 shaver. With Braun the foil really did last 2 years max before you got holes and you immediately have to replace them otherwise you will cut yourself. Thirdly, Philips rotary shavers are way more silent compared to Braun shavers. It isn't even close. For me who sometimes has to get up for work at 3 am this is a great advantage. Lastly, It is my experience Philips shavers just keep working. I still have my first Philips shaver as a backup at my girlfriends house and it's at least 25 years old, probably older with only the heads replaced once. It still holds a charge for multiple shaves, it still works perfectly fine and my teenage stepson uses it regularly when he can't find his own shaver in his mess. He thinks I didn't notice 😅 Yeah, I'm definitely team Philips 👍

      As an every day shaver, probably not. It is cool and really small and it did shave better than I expected. As a novelty, yes it is fun to have. If I wanted a budget shaver, I prefer the Braun Series 5. But that is just me. Everybody wants something different.

    I've have the latest Phillips series 9000, the Panasonic Arc5 and Braun S9 Pro plus.. Phillips is the closest and quickest but leaves a rash/reddish under neck if getting the flat hairs .. Braun is the best IMO, especially when going over same area a few times with the tricky hairs under neck line, very gentle, the Braun pro plus trimmer (a upgrade compared to std pro model) is a far better trimmer than the phillips or Panasonic models.. Hope this helps 👍😊

    Interesting, have always been a Braun guy. But on my Series 9 the power button just popped off and have had it about 3 years or so, so considering looking around. Surprised to hear it's a closer shave, most reviews say the rotary's are not as close? Also, how is it when shaving near your side burns? I can usually get a clean cut up to the side burn with the Braun, so am concerned about using a rotary. Not even sure how I'd shave a straight line? Are you still using the Norelco as your daily?

    • @ShaverDude
      @ShaverDude Месяц назад

      When I am not shooting a Shaver Dude video, I use the S9000 Prestige. The low end rotary shavers do not shave as close as the foil shavers, but I think the mid-range and high-end rotary shavers are as close as the foil shavers. About the side burns, just move the shaver left-right and it will do pretty well. I struggle most with the rotary shavers under my nose, but I just hold the Philips Norelco horizontal and that appears to work.

    Running 9 Braun and the Norelco: dry- series 9 preferred. With pre electric liquid, gel, cream: series 9 is better. With a thin lather such as cremo or shave soap: the Norelco turns into a frigging beast. It WILL shave as close as a blade!
