I see some people hating on Philips for some reason. I’ve had my s9000 prestige for 4 years. Never had a problem. Shaves super close. And not a lot of irritation.
The problem is that Phillips only sells the knives without the whole head including the bottom part, this creates a problem because the bottom part and the top cover inside which the knives are located wear out over time. In addition, the last time I ordered knives (from AliExpress) they arrived dry. Where do you order a new razor head when they wear out? How do you keep them cutting smoothly? Is there any spray or is the cleaning car enough for you?
I have a narrow beard along my jaw line, chin and thin across my upper lip. The foil razor is better at shaving among the line. More accurate. Most of the time I use a wet razor, Gillette Mach 2 with just three blades to negotiate the various little areas and angles better. I use a Brian 7000 series foils on my neck and cheeks when I’m in a rush
I started my electric shaving journey with a few Brauns and at a certain moment switched to Philips and never looked back. For me Philips shavers have some distinct advantages over Braun. Firstly, for my heavier beard grow rotary Philips shavers give better results especially in the more challenging areas like the neck and the jaw. Probably results vary person to person. Secondly, Philips shaving heads last for many many years, much longer than the recommended two years. Currently I have a shaver with heads 11 years old used daily with quite heavy beard grow and only now I was thinking of replacing the heads although it still delivers decent results. I finally decided to upgrade to this newest S9000 shaver. With Braun the foil really did last 2 years max before you got holes and you immediately have to replace them otherwise you will cut yourself. Thirdly, Philips rotary shavers are way more silent compared to Braun shavers. It isn't even close. For me who sometimes has to get up for work at 3 am this is a great advantage. Lastly, It is my experience Philips shavers just keep working. I still have my first Philips shaver as a backup at my girlfriends house and it's at least 25 years old, probably older with only the heads replaced once. It still holds a charge for multiple shaves, it still works perfectly fine and my teenage stepson uses it regularly when he can't find his own shaver in his mess. He thinks I didn't notice 😅 Yeah, I'm definitely team Philips 👍
Thanks for that. I do think the Philips covered the neck better than the Brauns.I hear complaints on both sides for longevity. Some people have great luck with the same Braun for years and some people have Norelcos that last forever.
I have a Philips 9721/89 with the new sh91 blades that are also from the prestige and the BRAUN s9 9345s and the BRAUN in the daily shave and in fine soft skin and fine hair definitely offers a more flush shave durable and sharp
@@crystalesfuxias everyone's face is different But the S9000 prestige is more than just the blades, the surface of the head is different so it glides smoother
Also the triangular head is huge and very difficult to maneuver more than anything on the upper lip the sideburns and behind the ears. In addition, rotary discs cut further from the skin than BRAUN sheets.

Interesting, have always been a Braun guy. But on my Series 9 the power button just popped off and have had it about 3 years or so, so considering looking around. Surprised to hear it's a closer shave, most reviews say the rotary's are not as close? Also, how is it when shaving near your side burns? I can usually get a clean cut up to the side burn with the Braun, so am concerned about using a rotary. Not even sure how I'd shave a straight line? Are you still using the Norelco as your daily?
When I am not shooting a Shaver Dude video, I use the S9000 Prestige. The low end rotary shavers do not shave as close as the foil shavers, but I think the mid-range and high-end rotary shavers are as close as the foil shavers. About the side burns, just move the shaver left-right and it will do pretty well. I struggle most with the rotary shavers under my nose, but I just hold the Philips Norelco horizontal and that appears to work.
mr Shaver Dude, I want the best speed and comfort in shaving. I dry shave every day or every two days. What shaver will be the best? s9 pro or old S9000 Prestige?
The S9000 Prestige has more cutting actions per minute and a better metallic surface on the head of the shaver, so I think the S9000 Prestige would do slighlty better.
