How to test relays is a quick and dirty way to check if your relay is functioning properly. Every once in a while you need to test a relay and when you do it's important to check it thoroughly; just because it 'clicks' doesn't mean it's good because that's only part of the equation. It has to pass both tests to be good. If the video was helpful, remember to give it a "thumbs up" and consider su...

Where is the heater drain?
The heater core doesn't have its own drain. The coolant just cycles through it when you turn the heat on inside your vehicle. To drain the heater core you have to remove the hose connected to it. See the video on a heater core flush: ruclips.net/video/FpCF1jTA0F8/видео.html
This really helps! The bulb I need to replace, but it’s loose in the headlight cover and out of the socket. Is it easy to remove the cover so I can remove the loose bulb?
Hi Harris, the photo at 1:31 shows you the inside of the headlight housing. If your bulb lies inside this part you should be able to reach easy enough. If your bulb is located beyond this part in the glass enclosure, then you have a different problem. You will probably need to remove the whole headlight to get it out.
Why not take a big bore hypodermic needle and inject some glue down to the steel support core from behind on the steering wheel.
Yes, that could work, if you have access to such a device. :)
Thanks for your video it was super helpful 👍
You're welcome! 😊
This is great! Thank you for explaining everything so well 🙌
You're welcome! 🙂
the headlight bulb* you aren’t replacing the headlights
I'm in the same boat. 20p4 Toyota sienna timing belt replacement.
Good luck! I have two videos on that. One features the timing belt & water pump. The other features the cam seals. :)
Thanks sir
You're welcome!
In America, we call that a cheater bar, technical term would be a Torque Multiplier!! Have to do what needs done sometimes..
Haha Git er done!
Thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks for the vid but, aren't you supposed to pump it wiith the bleeder screw off/loose to let the air out as you pump and afterwards retighten the bleeder screw? How is the air suppposed to escape while pumping it while the bleeder screw is closed?
You have to open the bleeder screw to let the air out. Pumping it beforehand just puts some pressure on the air to escape.
Once you remove that outer cover and reach your hand in the hole, how many lightbulbs could you access from this hole? I feel like we are able to access the bulb that would be the highbeam, but I don’t think we reached low enough for the daytime running late. Could that be the case?
Yes, that could absolutely be the case. You have to slide your hand on the bottom of the housing towards the front. The daytime running light is the lowest one.
Does anyone know what the difference is between this one and the 3 ton low profile Pittsburgh? Besides the price that is.
Yes, I would like to hear if anyone knows. :)
@Pen_Pusher Pittsburgh has flat non beveled rear wheels, no real wheel support wing plate, C-channel frame bottom and top narrower, no saddle pad, fluid needs to be topped of and bleed, welds not great, bottom tie cross plate narrower, lighter by 10lbs for a reason, etc.. to name a few. Get the Daytona.
@@prebaned Thanks. That is very helpful!
Can you tell which one is for the relay is for high beam? Mine is not working 2014 jetta
If you can find a legend online it will show which one is for the high beam. The quick and dirty way of checking is to remove one by one and turn on the high beam to see if it works. At 6:44 in the video you will see a few relays with the number "53" on it. I would try them first and then move on to those showing "643" on them. Good luck!
I have a 98 toyota sienna with 327,000 miles maintanance is certainly overdue. With timing belt water pump replacement cam seals etc...should i expect to get another 300.000 miles more out of ny 98 toyota sienna with of course the oil changes done along the way.
how many miles did it have before the timing belt was replaced?
120,000. I do mine every 60,000. :)
This was so helpful to do as a woman who doesn’t like to ask for help. Thank you :)
This is not an easy task. I have made several attempts temps to no avail. Is there an alternate way?
Yes, you can remove the headlight from the vehicle and then change the bulb when you have better access.
Thanks man.. appreciate the video
how do you know if you need Cam Seals replaced? lots of miles or is there evidence of a leak?
Hi Jim, I just do it when I go in there anyway to change the timing belt. Call it preventative maintenance. :)
Watched several videos about how to bleed, but different videos show different methods. Which method is the standard one?
Sorry, can't help you there. I can only show what I do. :)
So where did you mount the kill switch and what is you address?
I mounted it in the car I drive and the address is in the street where I live. 😉
Well intentioned but his hand is blocking what needs to be seen by the viewer.
Sorry Evelyn!
sir could you please help me out, i wanted to install a new sport steering wheel but the bolt for mounting the wheel does not fit because of the black thing underneath the original steering wheel that cables go through is there any way to remove it?
I would not remove the black thing. Is your bolt the right diameter? Test it without the steering wheel to see if it fits. You may just need to get a longer bolt?
What is the refill method to make sure you get all the air out of the system? No one seems to cover that.
Here it is: ruclips.net/video/pupAltgfhaI/видео.html
Thanks bro for your guidance on video.😀
You're welcome!
This is crazy, no need to do all that, just undo the clips and lift the cover from the right. Gives enough clearance to remove and replace the air filter. Easy-Peasy. This may sound silly, but I've seen folks replace the air filter without removing the plastic wrap! DO remove the plastic from the filter before installing! :)
I have never seen that, but I guess it could happen.
@@Pen_Pusher I've seen it on mechanical nightmares or just rolled in youtube channel, not in person, I'm not a pro mechanic.
If there are multiple relays of the same type the easiest option is to swap them for a minute.
Yes, that is the best way to check, for non-technicians. 😊
Great job. My '96 Carolla has the exact same issue with the same door. Another guy on youtube got the lock to work by shooting PB blaster down both sides of the window glass. If that doesn't work your approach will be Plan B.
Steve, my approach should be your last resort! 🤣
@@Pen_Pusher Thank you for replying. If I may trouble you.... None of the trucks with PB Blaster worked. Both handles still pull freely, seemingly as though the linkage is disconnected. The door lock pulls up halfway and then jams. I have another idea. Since the lock mechanism may need to be replaced I am thinking of drilling a hole in it from the outside. Right above the keyway. Do you happen to recall, is that opening in the body about as large as the door handle piece, or if I drill in above the where the key is inserted will I likely hit the body/frame?
@@stevebakker6884 Hi Steve, if you look at 12:17 on the video you will see what it looks like from the inside. There is open space all around it. 😊
What is the type for the bulb lamp?
Check the video at 00:15 🙂
Is faster to cut the line in a better place and run a longer line.
Yes, that should save some time. 🙂
I wish I had watched this a few months ago when I had a tuneup done on my 2000 sienna. They told me they had to take the engine apart and that was why it cost me 700! I will never go back to that shop now and I've been there a few times. Thank you!
Hi Sherrie, don't be too hard on yourself. We learn and we grow. We keep moving forward! 🙂
this is an amazing well structured video, i’m a visual learner and i feel that you explained and showed everything amazingly. thank you so much for this vid
Thanks for the encouragement Johan!
This is a great video, but i can't get a grip on the housing part to twist. To all engineers that design stupid stuff like this, it needs to be punched in the mouth. Why is changing a bulb taking me over an hour
I am with you there! There must be an easier way...
The three series of videos with bumper removal, service mode, and alternator removal showed me what I needed to know to do this myself. Very informative. We didn't have to drain the coolant. We were able to pull the subassembly far enough forward to finagle the alternate under the AC hose and up the cooling fans without breaking anything. the alternator went down the fan and under the AC hose easier than it came out. We also changed the tensioner pulley and belt while we were in there. Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for the feedback. This is the reason I make these videos!
Hey was this issue effecting one or both of your headlights and was at all of the bulbs in the assembly or just the headlights specifically.
It was just the headlights in normal mode. They would still work on bright. Go figure!
Did you maintain the water temp at 82c? And how long in the water until the thermostat opened up? Was it only open that big?
Just keep the water on the stove top. As the temperature rises, wait for the right moment to insert your thermostat. Yes, it does not open very wide - just an opening for coolant to flow through. :)
hello sir would it be the same procedure for a 1996 civic?
Same basic procedure. The size of your socket may be different. :)
@@Pen_Pusherthank you :)
In case anyone needs it, pulley threads for removal tool are m8-1.25
Thanks for that Olds!
Can I use a garden hose to drain the reservoir coolant
Yes, you can undo the reservoir connection to the radiator and then flush it with the hose.
You forgot to show the very beginning where you take the windshiled wipers off etc
It is a different video. Here it is: ruclips.net/video/f5ac6rs1U4Y/видео.html
Awesome video Thank you!!! You saved me from getting rid of two Jacks!!!
You're so welcome!
Hi Thanks for the informative video I am having a hard time finding the little clip that goes on one side of the tailgate handle cover. It is not the same as the panel trim ones. Do you know what model are they to buy them? Do you have a picture of it? Thanks
Hi Claudia, I am not sure what exactly you are referring to. At what point in the video do you see it? Is it possible for you to take a screenshot of it?
@@Pen_Pusher Hi, yes of course I am not sure if I can post a photo in the comment but you are pointing it at 2:32 min Its the white clip on the right side of the screen.
@@Clauditaxx Okay, I see. Maybe you are thinking about car trim clips. There are lots available on Amazon. Here is an example: www.amazon.com/GOOACC-Retainer-Assortment-Tailgate-Fastener/dp/B07XKZHFHX
Mine doesn’t have that black piece that holds it up. Mine is more indented in. Maybe I’m missing a rubber piece? Anyone know?
Yes, there should be a rubber pad that sits on top of the saddle of the jack.
Yeah I found one on Amazon I’ll probably get.
Is there anyway you could tell me the shape of the pad there?
@@KraftyKris10 It fits exactly the shape of the saddle. I am sure if you ask Harbor Freight they will have one for you.
Thank you that back screw was all I needed to know
You're welcome!
I have 2002 Sienna and have not replace after 22 year. Do I need to?
Interesting that you watch a video on replacing a timing belt and then ask the question of whether you need to. I am curious how that came about?
Hi Mate, Nice video, Do you work more on VW cars?
Hi Eric, no just this Jetta that I intend to keep going for the next few years. 😊
@@Pen_Pusher OK, No problem Jetta in the VW car list. How to message you? We may invite you to test our Launch VW audi scanner

Actually, it is a vacuum, but using its blowing rather than sucking function. 😉
Me quede dormido viendo esta vídeo per muy interesante thanks😊
You're welcome! 😊
There are coolant lines going all the way to the back on the vehicle (heating radiator by left rear wheel). This gets a fraction of the total coolant. To test - drain. Then measure how much came out. Then note the system capacity (11 quarts). Something is better than nothing I guess!
Thanks Brian! 😊
