She looks like a playmate, but sings as Sarah Vaughan. Amazing!
So underrated I love Mel Torme
His entire act is top-notch. And then he starts tapping and it's a master class!

Remember, folks: you must believe in spring. RIP Bill Evans 🍻🍻
I have adored him all my life. He was the absolute greatest . I was seventeen and of course into the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin etc.and then someone introduced me to Sammy. I was blown away and I've loved him ever since. All these years after his death I still love him.. ❤❤
That was perhaps the most perfect arrangement I've ever heard. Torme was the best of the greats, a superb vocalist!
The velvet fog beats Sinatra on this one! 🤩 Soooo smooth!!
Mel was a family friend when I was a kid (I'm 85). He was so nice to me. When I grew up, whenever he appeared in NY, my wife and I went to see him perform. Between sets he would come and sit with us. The greatest singer ever.
Such a beautiful memory!! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks pals!
From roadhouse, honky-tanks, catfish-fries, with heavy tinge of Storyville and Big Muddy blues, Brother Ray has taken such to stadia and velvet brocade halls,…never a false not and dripping with soul. And audiophiles will note the entire absence of processors and sweeteners. Nuttin’ here but real chops.
Where you from. Lol
I would say his voice was, dare I write it, WAY better than Sinatra's! Just magnificent. I really love Sinatra, but Davis was incredible.
素晴らしい!
Interpretation of the melody like this requires an understanding of the chords. Sarah Vaughn was equally skilled. From there, the great timbre and intonation of his voice make for the perfect vocalist.
Mathis could sing the dictionary. What a voice!
Loray looked better than May Britt.
Mel was the man. He makes it sound so easy. So do the jazzmen. Fabulous.
Any studio recording cannot compare to a Ray Charles live performance of the same song. Such is the case here. Ray simply takes your heart and soul here.
Exhibit A would be the spinechilling, standalone, showstopping version of Do I Ever Cross Your Mind that Ray starts up around 38 minutes. Hard to pick a favorite Ray live cut, but that one might be it for now.
He makes it looks so easy to sound this amazing
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow this is a rare gem
He pulls you right in at the end❣️
Is this the live recorded at Music Inn for the italian RAI? If so, he was very upset due to the bad conditions of the piano he was performing on; he was supposed to play three sets that day but quitted the club after the first one
Thank you for this information!
@@risboturbide9396 you're welcome, mate!
Live exceptionnel ! Un homme au sommet de son art !
I'm sure he's amusing those in heaven and making their day that much better❤💔👍
to this day no one can touch him
TV show?
He was the Greatest All Round Entertainer the world has ever had.Amazing talent.
Linda canção, Wanderlei Cardoso(brasileiro) gravou uma linda versão dessa música chamada Fale Baixinho
The most talented entertainer of all time.
Un moment de grâce. Juste sublime.
The conspicuous absence of Sammy saying they hated him for considering himself a Jew is telling!
A very sweet and charming number with Mel & Susan.
...it doesn't get much better than this...
I really love this, even though it’s from a time gone by. Good work. Good find for 2022 and beyond. Thank you Johnny Jones? 🌹❤️
In Honeysuckle Rose he shows what a formidable stride player he was too, this was not often heard from Erroll. He's my favourite jazz pianist, a unique talent who could not read a note of music. His driving left hand was like a strumming guitar in a rhythm section, his harmonies were gorgeous, his improvisations were brilliant, his introductions left everyone wondering what he was going to play including Eddie Calhoun on bass and Kelly Martin on drums, he composed around 200 pieces including the gorgeous No More Shadows and All Yours which he plays here, he always performed with such unbridled joy unlike some stony-faced jazz musicians. He died way too soon on 2nd January 1977 aged just 55, not long after being diagnosed with lung cancer. All that smoking caught up with him I guess. If only we had had him for another 30 years. I would love to have heard him live, I wish he could be reincarnated somehow !
Genius at work. My favourite jazz pianist of all. Too young to have heard him live but I love to see these RUclips uploads of him playing. Such joy in his playing, it's infectious. He composed around 200 tunes too including gorgeous ones such Dreamstreet, Misty, Dreamy, No More Shadows, Nightwind, All Yours etc. Loved his left hand which was like a strumming guitar, the chords with the right hand, the wonderful introductions and endings, the changes of rhythm and dynamics, the brilliant improvisations, the occasional phenomenal stride piano as good as Fats Waller, the gorgeous harmonies, the occasional quotes from classical composers...he could do it all. So sad that he died aged just 55 on 2nd January 1977. RIP Erroll Garner, gone but never forgotten.

Love Mel. Love this song.
Lets it say me in this way. There are many other good pianists in the jazz item. But most joy come(for me) from erroll.
Chills down my spine. First time I’ve heard this song and chills down my spine.❤
From the US: Could this be from a BBC "Show of the Week" aired July 15, 1967? The Beeb showing off their bright & shiny new colour cameras for all of the UK to see? Only problem is the band is conducted by Angela Morley (Wally Stott), no "Stan Keaton" or "Stan Kenton" (Kenton was off the road that year).
Great singer.
Wonderful song.
Amazing entertainer... Thank you, Sammy.
Thanks for this excellent clip. am trying to find a clip that used to be posted. It had Torme rehearsing this song for a Judy Garland show. (She was onstage but not singing). Really delightful -- can you help?
