Hey, I’m Josh from AusMoto!
If it’s got two wheels and an engine, I’m probably riding it-or reviewing it, or maybe camping next to it!

I quit adventure riding...?
After receiving a few messages as to why I haven't uploaded any adventure or dual sport motorcycle content recently, I thought I'd address the question on whether I have quite adventure riding.

This was my wife’s first camping trip ever, and we tackled tough tracks and visited iconic locations like Mt Stirling and Craigs Hut. After one year of ownership, it was time to get a new exhaust on the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and get the ECU flashed and the motorbike dyno tuned to get some more performance out of it (not that it needed it!). The ECU flash and dyno tuning was performed by Phil over at Phil Tainton Racing. #superbike #supersport #gsxr1000 #gsxr #sportbike #sportbikes #dynotune #horsepower #SuzukiGSXR #MotorcycleMods
Chaos on the Road to the 2024 Phillip Island MotoGP!
Просмотров 50 тыс.2 месяца назад
Myself, my brother and our dad ride our motorcycles from Melbourne to Phillip Island on a group ride with hundreds or maybe even thousands of other motorcycles riding to the 2024 MotoGP event. This wasn’t a ride without incident, and unfortunately we do come across a biker who had crashed which seems to be quite a common occurrence on group rides. All in all though, it was a great day out and w...

Is the KTM 690 the Mythical Unicorn Dual-Sport? | Bikes & Bants
I'm stoked for that bike restoration! It's one of my biggest hobbies, and because I currently can't ride due to an injury, I'm trying to do as much of it as I can. Currently working on a 1990 Honda NX650 and some old KTM mopeds from the '80s.
They have cool bikes 😂
Yeah, they got new husky 500s haha
Ha ha mate if I spent that long on the wr I wouldn’t climb back on for a few months either. It’s a hobby mate, keep posting up what ever videos you like, we will be here to watch them. Good luck in 2025
Haha yep, thanks for the support mate, appreciate it!
@ good luck mate.
I, and probably many others, know exactly how you feel. The high and LOW is real and after a big trip like that, just riding around local is quite boring. I plan a 2 week trip every year and how I deal with it is: I start planning my next trip on the way home from the current one. I consider the local rides and dirt bike rides as practice for the next ride. I'm counting the months to my next big ride in July. Just do what makes you happy bud, we will be here.
Yeah, a lot of people have chimed in and said the same thing. I reckon you're right about the planning bit as well, having that to look forward to can make a big difference and that's probably why this stretch of not being motivated as lasted longer as I haven't had a trip planned. Thanks for the comment, Dave, I look forward to hearing about your big ride in July!
I've been on some big trips and I'm the same I can't be bothered with a afternoon or day ride.
Yeah mate, it’s hard to get motivated for one
Yes!
👍
After my cape york ride (only 3000km) in October 24 I never went near my bike for 8 weeks and still haven't ridden much, not even my Beta 300rr. I did a lot of research on my next adventure possibilities. I am getting keen to adventure again now. By the way, your simpson desert episode's were awesome 👌 and is now definitely on my bucket list.7
Yeah mate, I reckon a break is needed after these big trips and appreciate the comment about the Simpson video, it’s definitely a trip worth doing!
I feel you man I had a couple months off the bike after we done the simo. Definitely needed a break after spending nearly 2 weeks on the bike in harsh conditions.
Glad to hear it’s not just me but yeah, now that time has passed, I’m already itching for a big adventure!!
Nice vid mate, I agree with all the comments, make the videos that make you happy. Looking forward to your 2025 content mate.
Thanks man, hopefully we can finally get a ride in together in 2025 🤙
@@AusMotoAnytime mate
It's pretty common after a big trip mate, the exact thing happened after I returned from a tassie trip back in October. Take the pressure off yourself, just head out and do a day ride, just you. No camera👍
Glad to hear that it’s not just me and I reckon that’s the go, thanks mate 👍
Hey Josh; OK you need a break from the ADV rides on the 250...Considering your body injuries etc Perhaps it's the time to change bikes. There are Adv Bikes that can allow you to sit up more, allow you to have some fun and be comfortable; Honda Transalp 750, Suzuki V-Strom 800 etc...good secondhand bikes you can buy; You need a break to recover and its YOUR Channel so do what makes you happy; We are simply along the journey with you and if some leave that is their choice. Happy New Year, its a new year and time for some change... David....Adelaide....Triumph Scramblers 1200x and 900.....
Thank you David and you may be right about the bike, if I had a more comfy, larger ADV bike, I’d be less tempted to tackle the tough stuff and would have been back on the bike sooner! Appreciate the support as always and a happy new year to you!
@@AusMoto Yes a larger bike but also allow yourself some time out on the Adv rides...Keep up your interests.
Great video mate. Thanks for the update! Agree with all the other comments, keep on doing what you love.
Thanks heaps!
Yeah mate in my experience, changing up the content doesn't do ya any favours with the algorithm, but I say fuckin' make the videos you wanna make and to hell with the popularity contest 🤘 cheers
Thanks mate, that's the plan! 🤘
Yes Josh, MVDBR.....Young Josh...you do what you want to, take your time, look after your physical and mental health; David...Adelaide....
I second that, don't be a slave to the algorithm, do your own thing. In the future you'll have an awesome catalogue of memories to revisit 👍
@@TwoTubesADV exactly mate, I just enjoy sharing things I find interesting!
Keep doing whatever makes you happy 👍
Sure will mate 👍
Good on ya mate, similar vibe to how I have structured my channel. a bit of everything, just keep your PreZENce in Mind' shaka
Thanks mate!
You do what you want to do, Josh. If people like what you do and tune it, good. If not, doesn't matter. Bikes will always be in your blood, and adventure is in there also. Your channel will grow either way. Cheers mate 🍻
Cheers mate and congrats on 5k! 🍻
Mate, do what you enjoy, go back to the roots of why you started the cannel, chasing the algorithm is not worth the time or effort.
Agreed mate, that's the plan going into the new year!
Bro it's how I feel I went from a ls R7 to a R1m and I went wtf did i do lol
Hahaha yep
Wasn't this advertised as a 5 stroke?
I wasn’t alive when it came out, so no idea haha
The Lawrence brothers Good luck getting away
👍
Ireland needs police like this
👍
Their still not street legal if the cops riding on dirt bikes I am too
Haha yep
Le falto mono y llanta a esa gsxr 1000 la mía ase como 9.50 stock

What’s wrong with riding in the bush unlicensed? You’re not going to hurt anyone, I hate how Australia is so controlling, you can ride in the bush unlicensed in America just not on the road that’s how it should be
Yeah, it’s a bit of a joke
You can get away easy if you no the bush your riding in. They have no chance brother. 😅😂
Might have to try it 🤣
Love the bike. Is the tank a clear tank or white tank ?
Thanks mate, it’s the clear tank 👍
GSXR's from 2003-2012 were absolutely amazing! ❤
Yep, no electronic rider aids, crazy power and pretty lightweight, love them! 🤙🤙
They can’t ride for shit just ride away
Wsh les keuf il viennent te demander ta compo
👍
I been in love with one for 19 years, and no complains, greetings from Tarrazu Costa Rica.
They are an amazing bike!
I almost tore my nuts off once going over the handle bars ;(
I have done a similar build on my wr250r. I have saved money by redoing my seat myself also have bought cheap parts from aliexpress and nicecnc. You have built a bulletproof lightweight adv bike. The day you sell it is is the first day of regretting😢that decision. $15,0000 is not that much in the scheme of things. You have a reliable, comfortable cheap to run adv bike.
Yeah, I've been super happy with it, longest bike I've ever own and it's never let me down on some bike adventures! Most recently crossing the Simpson Desert unsupported.
Awesome video mate, Nothing better than simple bush camping 👍
Thanks heaps mate 👍
Just get the GX-1. No need for a $1000 MX boot.
Once you’ve broken your foot and dealt with the recovery, can’t put a price on protection haha
Wtf??
Yeah, crazy..
I'm currently on the couch with a broken fibula after trying the big desert on my Tenere. Absolutely the worst day on a motorbike in my life. Having a chuckle at your video. Good work fellas.
Glad the video could bring you some enjoyment in what I imagine is a tough time! Good luck on the recovery mate, I broke a couple of bones in my foot last year and it wasn’t fun but the time passed and I was back on the bike in no time!
Ha ha great effort mate. Everyone’s going to have thier own opinion on what you need but it’s a personal choice. One thing thou unless your on sand you don’t need to air down. That’s a myth created to sell you a air compressor
Cheers mate, yeah I’m a complete noob when it comes to 4x4, just going off what I’ve seen on RUclips which also isn’t much haha
@ best thing is to keep doing it, see what works for you, what you’ve forgotten, and what’s rubbish ie pillows ha ha. Everyone’s going to try and sell you the best camping gear you must have for a trip. But just take what you need to enjoy the night away otherwise you’ll be towing a 26ft off road caravan before long
Great video! Sure is different from riding a bike!
Thanks and it definitely is!
we camped by the river on your passenger side , good thing the water is quite low that day.
Nice and yes, wouldn't want to do any deeper for my first water crossing haha
Great stuff Josh, enjoyed watching your adventure. Im buying another 4wd myself and hope to go explore the high country too. cheers
Thanks heaps, Bazz! It’s definitely a different experience compared to the bikes, but it’s a tonne of fun!
Haha mate I was there the day before, saw my name when you flicked through the visitors log at Craig's hut 😂 I left pineapple flat probably not long before you got there.
Haha small world! 🤣
Rechargeable camp shower Shower tent Collapsable bucket Billy for boiling water. This was revolutionary for us when travelling. Being clean is nice, I don't care what anyone says
Ordered the camp shower the moment we got home haha but the collapsible bucket is a great idea, I’ll grab one of those! And for sure mate, much rather go to sleep clean if I can haha!
beautiful drone shots and great job driving those tough tracks! it was great to see you both having fun and enjoying yourselves in the great outdoors. Your wife done well for her first time camping and sounds like she is keen for the next one. looking forward to more 4by4 videos! cheers Grant 🍻
Thanks Grant, we had a blast and she’s already planning the next one! 🍻
That was awesome, I love your old man passion and agree with him 100% 😂
Thanks Ant, glad you enjoyed it! 😂
OMG, there was a perfectly good river to have a tub in. Need to move past the preciousness!
Haha yes, I think with a few more camping trips under her belt, she'll be embracing the filth!
Can you itemise your 30k, please?😊😊😊
Majority of it is the car itself and the rest is made up of 4x4 gear e.g. recovery gear, maxtrax, etc and then the camping set-up like tent, mattress, etc. In the near future, I'll do a full breakdown of the set-up and can include the costs in that one 😊
30k worth it
She seemed to like it, so 30k for a shared hobby doesn't sound so bad 😂
Can’t believe you’ve never watched The man from Snowy River😳 You’re camping, “nobody cares” what you look like 👍🏽
Yeah, I'm going to have to sit her down and have her watch it haha and agreed!
