It was the height of style and sophistication, so much so that even the Chinese Emperor Qianlong couldn’t resist traveling down from the far north to visit-multiple times! In this episode, we’re heading to my friend Jasmine’s hometown, Yangzhou, where we’ll taste the famous Yangzhou Zaocha morning tea, explore the breathtaking Geyuan Garden, and try our hand at making a unique traditional craft, Tongcao flowers.

Zaocha sounds amazing, like having a good time with good friends and good food. ^^ What I'm always surprised about is that you have shown us so many not widely known arts and crafts, and you still find more of them! Tongcao looks so delicate, so much time invested in something so transient! One could get philosophical about it. ^^

    I love your dedication to try every craft at least once yourself! I think that's one reason why I instantly liked your videos, I am quite similar... I always want to know how things are done and how it feels to make them. ^^ Your lion's head at the end looked really good! It takes serious skill to imagine a 3D form and then craft it from 2D materials like wire! As for your question, which colour should the lion's head be? It's really hard to decide, they're all so beautiful. Blue and gold might be nice? ^^

    annual salary? really is little yet the recognition makes the custodial job sound prestigious. if they had more tourist hotspots and advertising along the way surely more people would come. Perhaps a wider road too, although I understand funding less remote area roads would be more practical. How to protect buddha from nature is a strange thought without context
