Sydney Metro Bankstown conversion, how we'll keep Sydney moving
Просмотров 14 тыс.3 месяца назад
🚇 The city extension of Metro to Sydenham will open in the coming months, providing a fast, frequent connection through our CBD, and out to Chatswood. 🚌 When the City section of Metro opens, we’ll give the new service a bit of time to bed in before we start work on the extension from Sydenham to Bankstown. Buses will replace trains during that 12 month conversion. This will be disruptive, and u...

The Chalmers Street entry at Central Station is now open

We were days away from opening the Chalmers Street entry at Central Station when a fire ripped through a Surry Hills building just metres away. 6 months later, the building - which withstood the impact of falling walls, searing heat and gushing water - has been rebuilt, cleaned up and is now open to the public.

This is disgusting when all you politicians are saying you're doing "everything to stop Domestic Violence". I'm not anti-trans or ant-gay, but to allow a man play women's sport is very dangerous. Allowing a man into women's dressing rooms and toilets, is that going to stop the mental health of those who will eventually rape women? How will this hold up in a trial at Court? You politicians are allowing this, so are you all accountable? Equality was ONLY for work rights, not to change your sex of birth from day-to-day. If you're born with a penis, you're a man. A woman has a vagina, womb, uterus and can produce a baby, a man cannot. This defines a women and should stay that way. I hope you all get voted out, because you're all making Australia a dangerous society for all women who are born a women. Shame on you all.

So how does this help people with actual mental health conditions that do lead to gender identity issues? They will be denied help they desperately need because by way of government policy, their condition will not be recognised, hence, no help will be given.... Anyone remember people with Lime disease? According to government, it did not exist so anyone with symptoms went without any treatment.

I've been voting Labor for the last 10 years and consider myself centre left, but this bill is proof they've gone too far to the left and thus I've found myself being forced to the centre right and who knows in 10 years I may be forced to the far right if the left continues on this trajectory. Believing you're a different gender than you actually are is a mental illness (gender dysphoria) and while people shouldn't be treated differently based on their beliefs, the fact remains you can't magically change your gender, in the same way you can't change your age or race, it's basic biology. I'm all for anti-discrimination, but most of this is wild. Farewell ALP.

And so the cancer grows. At least the bill was ammended to allow Catholic Schools to teach the Catholic Faith and employ those who will not teach against it.... BTW, last week I went to the doctor and told him I believe I am Napoleon Bonaparte. He referred me to a psychiatrist. Yesterday I told the doctor I believed I had turned into a woman. He said "congratulations".

I love the reason they took the Bankstown line out of the city circle is to relieve congestion for the city circle but they put another line on the Corridor running near the parramatta river along the T2 line into the city circle. That is really great (sarcasm)

Thank you for keeping our iconic trains running well into the future. They are a gem, and have truly defined the standard of transport for Sydney, and represent an era of engineering and design ingenuity, pushing the envelope boundary of what can be done in the 80s. Many fond memories of watching trains pass behind the fence at Mortdale station as a kid in the 90s.

Tried it out yesterday and I am glad I am not a regular commuter forced to use it everyday. It is not the most comfortable train I have been in ,only because it is new it gave a token of comfort but for long term use not that good. If it was Australian designed and made, then comfort would be there . Elderly people with back issues this train will aggravate their condition unless they can sit in corner like position to support their backs as the train starts to move. Signage could be better for directions to rest rooms for first time travellers ,surely with all that money spent a few extra signs I doubt would blow the construction budget.

Now you have succeeded with this ,I am concerned with the future of St Mary`s . Allow me to bring my concern to your attention. The connection between old and new is a worry. Freight trains rattle through St Mary`s and have a history of breakdowns west of St Marys bringing the line to a complete stop. Should this happen with the new connecting services it would not be good . What do you think advance planning might do to avoid this issue thank you.

Agree to a point. Sydney does desperately need vast improvements when compared to other global cities of her size. The real problem does not get addressed however. A much higher percentage of our population used to live in regional and country areas prior to the mass immigration post WW2 times. The trend changed significntly and if nothing is done Sydney will never keep up with the required infrastructure.
