I went from 30k points all the way down to 10k trying out different volley builds that included amazing first volley. It’s good against players that you were expected to beat, but not so great against good players with high power. They just hit it so hard that it’s hard to time your first volley. If you don’t get a winner off of your first volley then are essentially cooked because the volleying mechanics of the game aren’t great lol. Drop volleying seems to be the most effective though if you do want to go that route and use volleying skills

Good question. This was just to show how control shots were really good after that update. With the new season, I definitely try to mix it up a bit more

It could be your players build maybe? Power is very much favored in WT

@@MoreAyReef my Player have 98 Power, 97 backhand and 83 forehand but Lacks serve and volley idk if i should drop backhand and put maybe more on serve

Yep, just hold the stick up. Also having high bh and fh helps get you closer to the line more consistently

You can get angles with topspin shots and slices

I appreciate it! I like Full Ace Tennis a lot!. The issue is that I don't have a PC :(. Only have a Mac which doesn't have the game. Potentially in the future.

I sucked at first too. But now ive gotten way better. Its all about deep shots. Hold up on your left stick up+left up up+right and hitting perfect shot will make your opponents shots harder for them to make. And thus will give u a easier time of putting away a shot. I started off like 50-140 online. Im 23-7 in season 4. 159-174 now

@@sonian6642 for instance... I play Serena Williams and i Got out powered forehand and backhand by mcenroe.... Even when i used max power with perfect timing he killed me

​@@trounbyfirei use serena as my main now. Shes a beast. I can out power almost anyone. And when i put shots at their baseline. Its hard for them to keep up. And then i just hit a winner easy

@@robertgout530 I would agree with you but it rewarded perfect timing. Right now is a match of attrition. Whomever runs out of stamina first wins the point. And rallies are longer than TS4. That shouldn’t be the case. The complete opposite of how this game played on release day. Mind you I wasn’t a power meta guy either. I’ve had the same build since the game started and I learn how to serve and when to play certain shots etc. now is just bad bad bad

Yeah, it's a tough situation. Last season it sometimes felt like those angled shots were the only way to end the rally. Now with that being nerfed, rallies just feel too long (much like topspin 4). I support them nerfing those angled shots, but they should've done something to make sure that rallies wouldn't become super long. 1) Give more viability to volleying 2) Make the speed stat actually mean something 3) Make the stamina stat more impactful so low stamina actually leads to much more errors. 4) Something that Tiebreak does which I like is that slices need to be hit back with either a topspin or slice shot. If you try and flat shot a slice, chances are it will hit the net. Most TopSpin players only flat shot because that's all you need to do to win. But if you actually need to choose the right type of shot when hitting, that could lead to a lot more shorter rallies as players make more mistakes. Feel like that would be a really nice change.

@@MoreAyReef I 100% understand your points. Since I wasn’t a power meta guy, I learned how important timing was/is. Only way to fend off the power guy was with angle shots. Personally, I mix & match my shots so it wasn’t all flat control shots like most players. The issue is that you’re literally playing against a wall now. First guy that runs out of stamina loses the point. More times than not of course. Is like 2K has good intentions but horrible decisions.

i have power 40 and beat power players in top 100, but its a net rushing game. Im sure it makes a lot of them angry 😂

I totally agree with you. This game feels like scripted slow motion baseline tennis with no possibility to go to the net. Totally unrealistic.

Good question. I find that using the right stick leads to much more accurate serves than the buttons. Also slice serving on the stick is more accurate than flat serves on the stick.

can you show how to counter the wide angel serve? and the how to counter the dropshot, and how to counter very deep shots. basically how to get better :)

Let's see a Rafael Nadal playstyle in honor of his career and announced retirement. Go Stamina and Speed with a big forehand and decent power. Let's see that topspin invasion all day with as many inside out forehands as possible!

Yeah it definitely feels that way for some reason. Most do hit where I want it to hit, but sometimes it doesn't go as deep as I want it to or that it should. Quite weird

the forehand and backhand are main attribute that affect it , reflexes affect return of serve and ability to return power shots
