The board itself is fine, and I'm just sharing my personal opinions. You may have your own and that's fine. "Tapping" it to feel the layer that is covering the playing area, much like how it feels tapping on a wooden board, its film of printed squares. "Flimsy" because of materials chosen and the fact that the playing area doesn't feel as solid as a wooden one or as close to it. "Easy to break" in terms of durability. I accidentally dropped something on this board, not to mention the screen as well. For regular use, it's fine. I have it and I'm still using it when I have time. It's a great board.

And I hope I was not being too offensive... but I was a bit annoyed, because the (imho long and enduring) tapping reminded me of some bad ASMR 😂 But also I just wondered, what exactly it was, you meant. That we all might have different preferences- no need to argue about that. I had many e-chessboards, and purely from feel, nothing beats the wooden DGT with wooden pieces (I guess, the big chessnut might be similar). The DGT Pegasus was an overall disaster amd a shame for the company, the square off (the rollable one) was an interesting Idea- but none of them even sported piece recognition. However, chessnut did really play a leading role when it came to make piece rec. affordable- and quite flawless (hello, Air). The Evo feels premium overall (o.c. this might be subjective) and is a completely unique approach with superb support and updates. That a screen can be damaged is no surprise, but so does every tablet and smartphone. I can hardly imagine what you had to do to damage the evo. I have cats wandering over and no damage done...but yeah, everything can be broken

Hi ! I haven't used it enough until the battery depleted. I did use it sometimes without charging and got a good use out of it. It's a lithium battery, and since your device is new; you may want to deplete the battery and then fully charge it and store it half charged. It may extend the battery use over time. you can also use it while charging and use a power bank if necessary.

Hello there ! Thanks for your feedback. Regarding your question, there is a usb C slot. It works like a phone for storage, etc, if you were to connect it to a PC. If there's a suitable app you can use to play through a wired connection, it should work if it's an android app. By manufacture default, i haven't come across any feature regarding your question.

I haven't tested these under sunlight yet. but generally, these are bright, and I think the Air+ leds stand out the most. It should be better under sunlight, but not strong sunlight.

Hi, I prefer the Chessnut Go for portability and it's compact form factor. The chessup 1 is larger and a little heavier when carrying it around even when it's in the bag.

I am awaiting the chessup 2 at the moment. I think it comes down to your preferences. The Evo has a larger screen, and both boards are integrated with chess.com and lichess. The Evo may be a little bulkier with some weight to it than the chessup 2, I suppose. Chessup 1 has come a long way for chessup 2, and now both boards have significant similarities like piece recognition and great LEDs. You may favor the chessup 2 pieces to the Evo if you perhaps want bigger looking pieces. I do have chessup 1, and I think the pieces are great.

It's fun to play and addictive. At the time of the recording of this video, I mentioned a few bugs to iron out. They have improved its use overall by now with updates. I like the convenience of not having to set up with a phone and that everything is integrated. I like the bag 🎒 aswell since it can be carried on your bag or the side, but i think it's pricey. The pieces are quite glossy, we can change the pieces with wooden pieces from Chessnut also. Build quality could be improved a little, but it's not a big deal. Overall, it was fun to play.

To answer your question, I think that for portability and convenience, the Evo is suitable since everything is already integrated. However, it does carry some weight, but it is more convenient to get going on a board right away. It's more customizable than the exclusive with additional apps. I hope that in the future, developers create apps to adapt to the Evo. The exclusive, however, feels more elegant with its wooden pieces and feel of playing with a real board. The Evo could still improve with its overall build quality, but it is still playable and joyful with its modern features. The Evo has extra features, unlike the exclusive such as apps integration. There is a metal layer in between the board that prevents it from bending. It won't bend easily. I don't fully understand what you mean by "curl up a bit by the ends". Well i haven't seen any curling on mine.

You don't need to connect this online to play with it. If you want to play against the computer, you will need the chess classics module as shown in the video or any other computing unit to connect to the board from Millennium. You don't need to be connected to the internet because the programs are already inside the computing unit. You can also play over the board with another opponent without being connected to the internet and having the computing unit to record your moves.

Hi. You will need to be online to sign in the Chessnut app, and you'll need an account that is free. There is a study feature you can use to set up the pieces as you please and continue the game from there. I haven't attempted it yet, but you can connect the Chessnut Air to PC for analysis/study.

I'm not sure. Same electronics as the PS2 connection, also there is a separate connector for USB that makes it more strange.

@@All-Awesome Depending on when that model of chess computer came out, Millennium were transitioning from PS-2 to USB-A. On my DGT Bluetooth boards, they have the older Mini USB-B connector, not USB-C. When I asked DGT why, I was told it wasn't worth spending the extra cost of development. If you want USB-C. then you have the board that doesn't have Bluetooth.

This model was released in 2015. Thanks for sharing the information. It's interesting to note. I have the DGT Pegasus and DGT Centaur models. In a couple of hours, I will be releasing my video about the Tournament 55 by Millennium. It's pretty much similar to the Chess Genius Exclusive.

How are you facing issues with the piece recognition ? Ensure that there's no electrical interference. Don't keep anything magnetic near the board or other electronic devices. Keep a distance between your phone and board.

It's just a public table. Normally, this table is for Chinese chess. Apparently, the table is a little high.

Hi there. The battery is not removable, I doubt that it will fail in the long term. It can also be used while charging. If the battery does fail, it will need to be replaced. However, I haven't experienced this with previous boards and I've been using them for a long time.

@@All-Awesome Thank you for your reply. I had a bad experience with the Square off Pro. The battery no longer charges at all. The device only works when it is plugged in. This company is not serious, they have no after sales service. I also had a battery problem with the DGT Pegasus after a little over a year, DGT sent me a new device, they are very correct. But why didn't they adopt the electronic chess piece recognition system? Now, faced with competition from Chessnut, they have lowered the price of Pegasus considerably.
