    Thanks for sharing. Just purchased it. I can recommend joining a local chess club, mine is very small, just 8 people who regularly meet on Thursdays at a local school.

      @@TerencePetersenAjbro I was defeated many times ! I only started picking up chess later in life, we mostly learn from the games we lose. It's the adrenaline and fun that keeps me playing ! I think that as long as you have the motive, keep playing regardless !

    Really like that Chessnut EVO is an integrated system. No smart phone, computer, nor tablet computer required, which eliminates bluetooth connection problems and frees up those devices for other tasks. Playing chess on-screen does nothing to prepare you to play chess over-the-board (OTB). Seeing, feeling, and touching actual chess pieces is important. Imagine future developments that enable the Chessnut EVO board to automatically move opponent's pieces. That would be so cool!

    which one would you choose chessnut evo or chess up 2

    • @All-Awesome
      @All-Awesome  2 месяца назад

      I am awaiting the chessup 2 at the moment. I think it comes down to your preferences. The Evo has a larger screen, and both boards are integrated with chess.com and lichess. The Evo may be a little bulkier with some weight to it than the chessup 2, I suppose. Chessup 1 has come a long way for chessup 2, and now both boards have significant similarities like piece recognition and great LEDs. You may favor the chessup 2 pieces to the Evo if you perhaps want bigger looking pieces. I do have chessup 1, and I think the pieces are great.

    Very informative review!
    Is there an USB slot to use for an extension to play with a wired connection instead of playing on the Wi-Fi?

    • @All-Awesome
      @All-Awesome  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello there ! Thanks for your feedback. Regarding your question, there is a usb C slot. It works like a phone for storage, etc, if you were to connect it to a PC. If there's a suitable app you can use to play through a wired connection, it should work if it's an android app. By manufacture default, i haven't come across any feature regarding your question.

      Hi. Yes, you can play a chess game against the computer without an internet connection. You may download and install chess programs as well as use them without an internet connection. It already comes with engines pre-installed.

    Behind you seems to be an old auto-play computer chess, that moves pieces magnetically with a mcanism under the board. Am I right? Milton or Milton Bradley?

    I like these things but moving for the opponent is a pain

    • @All-Awesome
      @All-Awesome  Месяц назад

      Moving the opponent's move can be a bit of a nuisance. However, i owned a few mechanical robotic chess robots in the past, and they failed over time. Maybe the new models coming out like the Chessnut Move will work better in the long term. Also, another thing to consider is blitz and timed games. A robotic move must be fast enough to counter the time limit.

    • @All-Awesome
      @All-Awesome  2 месяца назад +1

      It's fun to play and addictive. At the time of the recording of this video, I mentioned a few bugs to iron out. They have improved its use overall by now with updates. I like the convenience of not having to set up with a phone and that everything is integrated. I like the bag 🎒 aswell since it can be carried on your bag or the side, but i think it's pricey. The pieces are quite glossy, we can change the pieces with wooden pieces from Chessnut also. Build quality could be improved a little, but it's not a big deal. Overall, it was fun to play.

    This has the same issue as car infotainment screens, you're paying for a dedicated screen. The screen on the left can be replaced by a phone app.

    • @All-Awesome
      @All-Awesome  8 месяцев назад +2

      That is true. The main reason why Chessnut manufactured this board with an integrated screen is so that it can be used standalone. Making it more convenient for a user to set up and use his/her phone for other uses and conserve battery.
