It's a weird thought when I watch your videos It transports me while wearing Prada Infusion d iris, into an awkward breakup situation , where you had one to many awkward breakup and you start acting strange like numb and funny while running the whole process of breaking up with someone in a cafeteria where people starts looking already but you don't really care because you just wanna finish the entire process of a breakup throwing lines like, "how dare you" any break up lines from you to share???

My mom bought the Goutal vetiver in the early 90's. I stole it from her, and it was the first fragrance I ever wore. I was probably 11 or 12. I wanted to find it again, but I learned it's been discontinued. Im so bummed.

Terrific video. This was my first serious bottle of perfume. My bf at the time gave me the parfum for my birthday. He made out that he had especially chosen it, only to admit years later that he only picked it because of its legendary status, haha. Still, I loved it back then in the eighties. Revisiting it again in the twenties. I have the modern EDP, pre-barcode parfum and EDT. I think company bean counters would rather foster a taste for more commercially profitable newer offerings in the masses than encourage the demand for old school quality.

"...oakmoss huffer." : D I guess I'm that too. Been admiring Mitsouko for decades. Shalimar was too much for me when I was young, but now I enjoy it too. I'm not a fan of Lush shops with their hippyish vibe and garish soaps. However, you've intrigued me with Devil's Nightcap. (Breath of God was much hyped , but it wasn't for me.) Filthy Dirty category, HAHAHA! Jubilation 25 is among my most favorite perfumes! Of all the perfume youtubers I watch, you have the most similar taste to myself. I can't think of many who wear chypres either; my favorite style, but then since it's not a style made anymore the way they used to be, with some exceptions in niche, I can understand why. I am not ready for fall whatsoever. Here in the Seattle area it started raining last week and after several days of rain, today it was sunny but the temperatures are never going to go back to the 80s and 90s but rains have come early this year for sure. I have been trying to wear all my summer perfumes this year but some I just never got around to wearing, mostly the citrus ones. I have too many of those for the small number of days I feel like wearing them. I always feel they don't last nearly long enough to waste a day on. I'm doing the big beachy and tropical yellow florals at the moment and loving them. oxJulia

I'm ready for fall. SE Virginia summers go on too long. (miss Michigan weather ). This evenings' fragrance is Cafe-Cafe. Gets me in the mood for spicy scents, but light enough for an 80 deg. day. It’s been 3 years and as much as I like it, let’s be honest…I do miss wearing my perfumes out in the world, smelling them out in the breeze or when it’s raining or during the hot summer days. You get to know each so well and mostly, they do change depending on climate. Since I don’t have many opportunities to get ‘glamorous’ or ‘elegant’ I wear all my perfumes at home (what a waste 🤣) but I’m an oversprayer and reapply many times during the day - poor husband when he gets home. He doesn’t like 50% of my wardrobe and says I smell like an old lady - perhaps it’s good that I work from home. I wear anything cheapies, expensive, floral, woody, muscy, spicy, aqua. Good evening Wendi. I really enjoyed listening to the factors determining what fragrances you want to wear to work. I agree with you very much that your particular job can have massively changing emotions/environments from one minute to the next, and that you have to be considerate on what you decide to wear to work as a person who really enjoys their fragrances. One fragrance I find very affordable and is a very nice scent for work is Davidoff Zino. Even though it is sold as masculine fragrance, I think a lady could easily wear a couple of sprays to work and it would smell beautiful on her. Another couple I wear to work are Guerlain's L'Instant De Guerlain and also Guerlain's Vetiver. Thank you for a very interesting and thought provoking video. I will look forward to your next one. :0) P.S. When I read the title the Eddie Cochran oringinal version of the song is on the one that came to my mind immediately.

I once read in an older interview of Marc-Antoine Corticchiato that Annick's Eau de Sud inspired him. I can TOTALLY see this. In both Iskander and Eau de Gloire. Having never smelled vintage Sables, I'm super curious if it's much like Immortelle Corse. I'm so glad you've pointed me to this house!

I'd believe it Eau du Sud has been around for a long time and it's very of its own...now thinking of it Parfums d'Empire has a lot of overlap with Annick Goutal. Creative and natural seeming at the same time. I've always wanted to test Sables but I"ve not gotten to that one yet, truthfully sometimes immortelle is too much for me to wear.

Hei! A nice list there! I am retired, so I do not have to think about not offending people at work with my perfume, but I do have a large kitchengarden where I spend a lot of time in the spring and summer. I tend to not wear any perfume before the evening in this season, unless it rains and I am inside. When I am outside in the garden. there is always so much smell from flowers and vegetables and grass, and I can not really enjoy my perfumes. What I have been wearing lately is Byredo. I find they have some great offerings, and I buy them secind hand so they come a bit cheaper. Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost, and also Eyes Closed are some of mny favourites. There is one perfume I enjoy out in the sun, Rituale from Mendittorosa, a very heavy perfume with beeswax and incense(I think), smells so intoxicating in high temperatures.

I agree I was weeding yesterday and I could smell my roses and my little marigolds. Along with the green earthy scent of ripped out weeds! No perfume needed for those times. Your kitchenette sounds so lovely and relaxing! Gypsy Water is the only Byredo I have and a decant at that ... I grew to like its minimalistic approach. And the Rituale sounds pretty I like heavy hitters for sure.

Hi Wendi, I work from home so the minute my husband leaves for work, I put on whatever obnoxious fragrance I’m in the mood for.🎉 😂 Hopefully it’s at its base notes by the time he gets home and he never knows I was wearing 5 sprays of vintage Poison! If I have to go out, I’m very conservative with my fragrances and will wear something very quiet. I like CD Rouge Trafalgar or even EL Green Tea. 😊

Bless your heart for the line of work you do. It’s not for the faint of heart and I can imagine how draining it can be. I’ve not smelled Prada d’Infusion Iris, is it anything like Hiris by Hermes? I love Hiris! It’s my go-to perfume for when I’m anywhere really and don’t want to offend anyone and yet, at the same time, want to enjoy a small scent bubble of my own. Currently, new-to-me this summer is Lilas by Fragonard, a realistic lilac perfume and it’s really inexpensive. It helps me feel less sad about summer being so fleeting. Ugh!

    • @wendisparadeofperfumes5034

Infusion d'Iris is a little bit like Hiris. The Prada though is more green and powdery with galbanum and mastic, honest to say that the iris is in the background, versus the Hiris which is a green iris but it's ALL about the iris at the forefront. That is another lovely for sure! I love Lilacs ... might have to look that one up. The Poudre is basically Prada Infusion d'Iris but with a more Chanel personality. It's slightly more elegant, aloof, and floral feeling. I’ve been a hairdresser for 25+ years so working in close proximity with the public I have to be mindful of what/how much fragrance I wear. I do wear perfume to work every day, I just have to know the correct dosage for stronger ones, or don’t wear them at all. Both Shalimar Cologne and Champs Elysees ETD work on cooler, less humid days. For lavender, I wear the original Helmut Lang , au the Bleu, Lovely and Terre de Lumiere. Good timing Wendy. I searched for reviews on this house last month but they weren't much. And yours just turned up on my feed today 😂. I do have 2 Annick Goutal on my wish list. Ambre Fetiche and Vanille Charnelle. I tried Ambre Fetiche last week, and it's too syrupy and dense for my liking😢. I was about to remove it from my list, but that's until you said 'appropriate for winter'. Seriously as a frag head why didn't I think of trying it again then. Do you have Vanille Charnelle? If so, can you tell me about it? I have Vanille Exquise and Nuit et Confidences. I like them both. They both have a place in my collection. I love your view of artistry in perfumes. Majority of influencers on RUclips just started niche perfumery and think it's a leveling up lifestyle which I find juvenile. As they become designer snobs 🙄. Can't stand it. A lot of niche fragrances promoted are not made of the finest ingredients nor have any form of artistry 😢.
