    Just did this install myself in the night took my 2 hours to finish it, but then i noticed on the drivers side the clamp where the primary meets secondary was touching the coolant hose. So just a beware for anyone doing this, also not advised by if you don't have an E12 socket, use a 10mm :) i believe its also a 6mm allen socket for the DP hanger bolts

    I prefer the silver one you just installed to the BMW replacement, nice video! Easy install other than the sensor removal. Curious Lenarto if you’ve had any valve pan gasket issues before 50k miles?? I’ve read a lot of F90 owners had valve pan gaskets leak in to cylinders 7&8 (drivers side) causing miss fires. They noticed when they did spark plug changes and pulled plugs 7&8 they had oil all over them.

    • @LenartoGarage

      Thanks! I haven’t had any oil pan leaks nor valve cover leaks. Oil in the spark plug tubes would usually indicate a valve cover leak. I did have to replace the oil filter cover. The stock one wouldn’t stop leaking even with new orings.

    i had much more to do. I have the same model, but i had to do much much more. The car had 262k KM on the clock and an eigine failure. I have the whole engine rebuilt, replaced the gearbox and have all suspension parts and complete front and rear aixes replaced. partial paint job was also done. The car drives like a new car now. it is a nice car to drive now, but it costs a lot of money to restore such a car and should be done if someone has no aim to resell at a profit in short period of time, cause that calculation will not do it. the parts are so expensive and also the working hourse on the mechanic to rebuild everything is also anot a bargain. In other words we can also also say that the ones who simply buy cheap make sure that you have the money ready twice the amount that you paid for the car if things have not beeen done

    • @LenartoGarage
      @LenartoGarage Месяц назад

      Sounds like a fun project! If you do the work yourself you can keep costs down or spread them out over time. I wouldn’t recommend an old German car to anyone that isn’t doing the work themselves. Of course, the cost of parts can add up, but the parts on this car are much cheaper than newer high end performance cars.

    Do NOT install a lightweight flywheel. Use the factory clutch and flywheel. The Porsche flywheel has a rubber damper that is vitally important for the harmonic balance of the rotating assembly. Light weight flywheels tend to snap crankshafts in half. The balance of the system and the ability to absorb vibration and shock is critical. Install the “IMS Solution” from LN Engineering. That’s what is in my 2004 “50 Years of the 550 Spyder Edition” Boxster S. After 50,000 miles, still spinning in there just fine. Good luck.

    You have to replace everything while you’re at it including the bolts. Then clean out all the oil including taking the spark plugs out.. make sure you use proper cleaners for each part. Very good job though. I am just perfectionist, want the boxter to last forever. Haaa

    Man, I'm disappointed to hear this. I ordered a set of secondary downpipes to go with my custom exhaust I had built. I think you will have to get rid of the stock Exhaust as it is still restrictive at the rear with that middle box between both mufflers. Did you already remove the resonator in the middle?

    • @LenartoGarage
      @LenartoGarage 3 месяца назад

      No, rest of the exhaust is stock.

      @@LenartoGarage ok. I just saw the other video where you added the primaries. You should consider removing that resonator and adding the Dinan x-pipe if you want more volume.

  • @bfrat5071
    @bfrat5071 3 месяца назад

    Hey, is running downpipes worth it? Other than my project gamma front intakes on my F90 everything else is stock. I am in need for more exhaust note it’s way to quiet. I was looking into purchasing an awe full cat back track exhaust as it has gotten pretty good feedback from other owners.

    • @LenartoGarage
      @LenartoGarage 3 месяца назад

      The catted primary + secondary pipes combo did make a difference, but I found myself wanting a little more sound at times. If you can find an exhaust that is the same as stock with the valves closed and rowdy with the valves open, that’s that I would recommend. Of course, that’s going to cost more.
