I just watched a video on Seoulite TV and my reaction is the same. People abuse cultural norms of hierarchy and the rich/poor divide in society to abuse, bully, harass and force juniors into actions hidden under the excuse of being part of the team. MBC will investigate themselves and find themselves not liable. The first step should be an independent investigation. The government can make laws, but if society still accepts outdated behaviours from bosses and seniors then no law can do anything. Her bullies probably went through the same thing (not making excuses for them) and thought suck it up like we did. Unfortunately, I think it will eventually fade away, MBC will find a dispensable member of the team and blame them, just like the police found a expendable person in the case of Lee Sun Kyun and now nobody talks about what he was put through.

Her bullies were killing her for 3 years under the watchful cold eyes of MBC. Some of you BTS fans will remember how toxic and problematic MBC has always been. Their statement is shameless and offensive. SHAME ON MBC. Condolences to the family. FIGHTING! Justice for them and the victim!!

I certainly hope something significant comes out of this case. Two things can be right; Yoon's supporters are probably using this opportunity to silence a critic, and NBC has a toxic workplace bullying culture. SK needs to do more to protect its vulnerable. I hope the family pursues all guilty parties and hold them publicly accountable.

All my sympathy to the familly. I hope they will uncover the truth and get justice for their beloved late family member. only 28 it is heartbreaking and after all this suffering. As for MBC no comment. I dont think they know what ethics is.

An independent investigation needs to be held as MBC executives have an interest in downplaying the bullying. Is there no police investigation?

This is disturbing and sad…I question MBC’s statement…if officials did nothing after she reported it they should be reprimanded.. And it takes a long time to change cultural views

I have no proof whatsoever, but I totally believe Ms Oh's statement that she did report the bullying... and I also believe that she was ignored. I have heard that weather reporters are highly considered as excellent marriage prospects for chaebol sons and daughters, and at times, even more highly valued than potential marriage partners from 'old money'. I only mention this because could explain why those reporters allegedly were seemingly unafraid of any consequences or accountability. Bullies in general who have been allowed to continue their awful behaviours towards others, often develop God complexes and malignant narcissistic behaviours over time, and the apparent belief that they are far superior to everyone else, and therefore 'untouchable'. The company must be thoroughly investigated and held accountable, but let's not forget that the bullies should be at the top of any investigation list. Unfortunately, money talks, or in this case, potential connections to high ranking families. The best way to start tackling this issue is a change in laws that will protect victims of bullying... and more importantly, hold the bullies and those who choose to ignore any reports or complaints accountable with considerable punishments. Unfortunately, given how widespread bullying appears to be in South Korea, I fear it's going to be a long uphill battle, especially when money can make so many issues disappear. I truly hope that Ms Oh's extremely sad demise leads to a positive change for others in the same or similar situation, and that she and her family receive some sort of justice. May she rest in peace, and they find the courage to fight for change.

I don’t know actual numbers on this but it seems that Korea has a really high number of celebrities committing suicide. It makes me think if this many celebrities are doing it how many non celebrities are doing it. It’s really concerning.

I'm not usually a medical drama fan, but this was amazing!

I love the show. Episode 4 was my favorite although all episodes were excellent. The show is also very funny in some places which lightens up the atmosphere. It's an entertaining mixture of action, drama, and comedy.

There needs to be thorough transparent investigation into it. It's whats driving young men to support Yoon, as his support has gotten larger. You can say they are baseless, but until an in depth investigation is done nothing will change. Also the democrats shield and hiding and not wanting a transparent investigation just stokes it more. The claims you made are just speculation also, nothing 3rd party. Also your used of BLM was a democratic tool in the USA to take power, and they did, but people saw through the lies because of their abuse of power. Unless the Democrats in South Korea, stop power grabbing and playing fairly, South Korea might really see a right wing landslide just like the USA.

As a fan since they joined Pledis, I don't trust the Flover fandom very much because at crucial times they left the group stranded and unsupported, and only compared to the other Hybe groups. Anyway I'm worried because leaving aside Fromis_9 has been a group that from the beginning has been unstable because of the whole idol school scandal to the change of concepts and that the members have said they didn't like their debut concept and practically from their DM song they liked their concept. In Pledis they found stability but the fans didn't work for them and didn't respond to the content they had and eventually Pledis stopped investing in them, cancelled their variety show and didn't give them comeback. Supersonic was a sign of the success that was slipping away but the renewal came and they didn't renew it. Now with this news personally it doesn't bring me peace of mind because the new agency is coming out of nowhere, where we practically don't know if they are going to have resources and that three members have not joined leaves me thinking that the agency is not to be trusted.

I dont know anything about Fromis9. They should get a new name since their contract ended. Also, there are so many little companies that sometimes don't reach anything and end up in bankruptcy or scams.

They (Hybe and Somu) should give GFriend the same "gift" specially because the way they endend thing with the group, this would be the bare minimun and a gift for the 10 Years of the group.
