Texans On Ice: Kluane Lake and a Week in the Yukon
We spent a week in Yukon Territories on our way to Alaska. From the museums in Whitehorse where we learned about the Gold Rush to the breathtaking shores and peaks of Kluane National Park, we saw so many things we've never seen before.
We camped right on the shore, witnessing the incredible sight of the ice breaking up on the lake in the spring sunshine. And, leave it to Texans, we spent many hours exploring the ever-changing surface.

We totally forgot our passports! Turns out you need them to re-enter Canada after visiting Hyder. So, plans changed! But hey, that's the beauty of travel, right? Sometimes the unexpected detours lead to the best memories...
7 Days on the Cassiar: Epic Canada Road Trip en Route to Alaska
Просмотров 30428 дней назад
The Cassiar winds its way through pristine wilderness, offering breathtaking scenery at every turn. Towering mountains, vast glaciers, and untouched forests will leave you speechless. But the beauty isn't just in the scenery - the solitude is truly special. Unlike the Alaska Highway, which can get crowded, the Cassiar offers a unique chance to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. Lo...
Biking Burns Lake - Washington to the Start of the Cassiar
Просмотров 58Месяц назад
From the border crossing at Oroville, Washington, all the way to the start of the Cassiar Highway - this was a whirlwind week of plenty of windshield time as we trekked almost another 1000 miles. Here's how we broke it down: Day1: Haul it to Prince George. Parked for an overnight at the town's casino and did some quick resupplying the next day. Day 2-4: Parked for free at the Burns Lake Village...
Out of the Way National Park Sites in Washington - Whitman, Grand Coulee, Manhattan Project
Просмотров 75Месяц назад
On our way up to Alaska, we drove through Washington from bottom to top. We enjoyed the astounding amount of agriculture that we drove through. We didn't have time for many extended stops, but we did hit up three out of the way national park sites along the way: Manhattan Project Site - Reactor B - Plan ahead! If we had more time, we would have booked the bus tour to the historic reactor. Whitm...

It's a whirlwind RV adventure from the wide-open plains of southeastern Colorado all the way to the rolling farmlands of Washington state - that's over miles and we crammed in some epic history along the way! Bastards... threatened you with a good time... diabolical 😂
Wow!! Check that out.
And these were the easier trails on the mountain!! 😳
That’s cute and so cool!!! The best way to learn!!!! Good job mom and dad
Directed and produced by the 7 year old. 😆They are a hoot - parental pay off it getting to watch their creativity bloom.
Thats super cute! 😂😅☺️🤗✨👌
Being cute is part of my job as an trad wife.

Idk if this was a joke but I really hope it was
Why would a woman who voluntarily chose her life path EVER joke about the patriarchy? 😉
Then WHY Did you go knowing this lol 😆 😂 🤣 😂😂😂 typical 🙄 women complain 🙄 feel sorry for me lol 😆 😅 you should of stayed home
Typical - another man who believes a woman should just stay at home. 🙄
I’m sure it’s a lot better then going mall shopping with all girls 😢I have all girls as the dad I really want a boy to do boy things with like paintball, dirt bike, gaming so much more
Take your girls and I’ll take my boys to the nail salon. Expand everyone’s world.
Yeah we're really evil ain't we 🤣😂🤣🤣
If not for these men in my life, I could be in an office or factory somewhere building a successful career under fluorescent lighting. If only I had chosen that liberating path.
LONG LIVE PATRIARCHY. LONG LIVE FAMILY UNIT
Oppressor!
do some of the people in the comments just not get the joke ☹️
Clearly, the patriarchy is no joking matter.
Say what?
Did I stutter?
Ah, the pain of being a mother... So many pictures to take for my husband who's at work all day.... 😅❤
Yes, he goes galavanting off to his career where he has to check in and check out at certain times and answer to a big boss while I have to completely structure my own day and make difficult decisions about what outing we are going to do that day. It’s just so unfair.
Oh no you have to do a whole bunch of badass awesome things that not a lot of people get to do all the time
We shall overcome…
@@Butterflymoments anything for the boys
I guarantee you won't regret it!
Mansplainer.
@@Butterflymoments But, you know it's true! 😏
Hiking isn't a requirement! Now wild animals are in danger due this group's need to explore
Wild animals - yet another victim of the patriarchy.
Oh such a terrible thing having to do all of those cool things. I hope you had a blast, I wish my mom were still around to do stuff like that. Cherish your time with them, and build those fond memories because they will never get it back when you are gone. ❤
I wanted to respond with snark just like I have with all the other comments, but yours was just too sweet and I couldn’t pull it off. ❤️ i have only one year until my oldest heads off for whatever is next…not ready for it to be over!!!😭
@@Butterflymoments I feel your trepidation. I've got 5 years till my oldest is ready for that and I'm dreading it.
@@Butterflymoments and snark and dark humor is my love language, taught to me by MY mom so you wouldn't have offended me.
Your mom was clearly the best. ❤️
Boy moms will live to be 105 on average if the stress of worrying about so many active risk takers doesn't get them first 🥰
Making my point for me! Patriarchy is actively killing women!
Ya we suck l.....SIKE ! ! !
If only I’d chosen a fulfilling 9-5 career instead!
Bet they didnt want to stop so you could make a complaint video when you have sandwiches to make
They believe that the place for a woman is the kitchen - and so I have I have to bring the kitchen to whatever mountain top they drag me to.
@@Butterflymoments lol. They love you.
If you don't want to be there. Go home and do things you like.
These men all live with me - there is no escape.
@Butterflymoments Is there an eviction policy in your fantasy?
I feel for ya :)
Thank you for your sympathy.
It is a true shame the horrible world that men have built. Just horrible I agree!!!!!!
Just wait - the day is coming when we oppressed women will arise… …out of our beds, where we are laying trying to recover after that last terrific hiking adventure.
@@ButterflymomentsLMAOO
@@Butterflymoments u r hilarious. I bow 2 u.
Poor lucky you!😂
I won’t let it break me! ✊
That would be a dream come true for me ❤😂 I can't do the whole girlie thing let's go mudding and wheeling instead 😂❤
You poor thing. Completely captured by the patriarchy.
You do realize once you join up with the Alcan highway at Watson Lake(Home of the Sign post forest) and follow the highway to Whitehorse, there is a summer route to Alaska up the Klondike highway and over the Top of the World highway to Chicken Alaska.
Yep! Is that your preferred route?
@@Butterflymoments I would do it either up to Alaska or back, so you get a little more different scenery, If you're spending a few months in Alaska might be better to do it first.
@@MrYoup11 cool! Thanks!
I love how your son is filming the bears at 1:38, but your girl is more interested in her Fruit Rollups! Good job on the quality of your video. Have a great trip! We plan to do it next year. Subscibed and will be following your Alaska travels closely
Haha! Important things😉
How can i 6hat with u?
🤷♀️
Epic day!!!
It really was - in a totally different-than-planned way❤️
What a magnificient journey!! Thank you for sharing a wonderful taste of this adventure. Fantastic video work!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Miss you both! You are thought of and mentioned so often.
Nice
Thanks! Didn’t find anything this time but now that we have the gear we’ll have to keep trying.
So much lichen everywhere
Look at Sonny & Rafi at 3:26 - The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!
🤣 that is hilarious! Didn’t even notice that
Looks like a wonderful family adventure! For what it's worth- In bear country, keep your dog close! Better yet, leashed. If the bear chases the dog, then the dog runs back to you, and the bear is close behind! Stay safe!
Good tip! Thanks! I’ve often wondered if the dog is an asset (with her constant barking to alert the bears that there’s someone nearby) or a liability for exactly the reason you gave.
@@Butterflymoments the dog’s barking is definitely an asset! But mam bear will protect her cubs any way possible. You don’t want to be in the middle of it.
Love seeing this. My wife and I talk about full time RVing all the time. Nice to see other Members of the tribe doing it. Nisiah Tova!
There is so much to see in this amazing country and it feels like it takes a full time gig to see as much as we do! ;) Its always a highlight to meet other Jews out on the road so keep an eye on our channel and if it looks like our paths are about to cross, give me a shout out!
Very nice.....but what happened at the end? 😜
Uhhh…an example of panhandle dark skies? 😉 Oh my gosh…🙄 just when I think I’m through the editing learning curve - noob mistakes are made. Thanks for watching anyways!
Those ain't pueblos
No?
Nice! I will definitely visit here. ❤
I’m sure you’ll find something to love about it! There’s something for everyone here!
Super sweet!!! Great video, you guys are excellent adventurers and what an education for you all! Thank you for sharing❤❤❤❤ Flower and Rocker 😊😊
Aww!! It’s the Flockers!! So thankful that our paths crossed. ❤️
So exciting! It's on our bucket list too!
Yay! Going this summer by any chance? 😉
Sry
It’s all part of kids growing up… 🥲
You have a really awesome setup! We are planning on moving from Israel to NY and starting full time rv travel for at least for a year with our 6 homeschooled kids. I'll have to re-watch this video when we are ready to organize our rv.
Sweet! Do y’all y’all have a timeframe? Always eager to meet for traveling Jews. 😉
Iam confused. Came here because I was seeking boondocking info but you stayed at a paid campground.
Did I seriously make such a noob mistake as to confuse boondocking with dry camping? 🙄 😄It was a designated camping area on national park grounds, but there were no sewer, electric or water hook ups. Definately not dispersed camping...although we tried hard to find some there! Anyways, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Cute❤
Thanks💕💕
God Bless that sweet pup
Yep! ❤️😍
Don't it make you wonder at the grace of God!
❤️❤️
That’s awesome thanks for posting ❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love her and so proud of you guys for giving her a great life ❤
We love being her humans ❤️
I really like this video. On the technical side, the only issue I had was that the background music almost drowned out your vocals. You have convinced me to take the course but please lower the background audio I want to hear what you have to say. 🙂 and the end made me spew my coffee. That was a stitch.
Thank you SO much for the feedback! Notes like these will help me make my content better. 😉
@@Butterflymoments I always hate offering “criticism“ as you are doing far better than I ever could I just putting yourself out there. I really enjoy your sense of humor and timing. I’m very glad you didn’t take offense, as none was meant. :-)
I am one of the few female certified techs. In my group of 80 certified graduates I was the only woman. I have now been in business for 2 years and loving it. This year I also went to RVTI for continuing ED. NRVTA is so much better than RVTI for hands on knowledge. NRVTA builds body memory. Now that you have your first week complete start on the other sections. As a female, if you are doing one week at a time, do furnace/water heater first followed by refrigerator then air conditioner and finally exteriors. I don't even have to think when I get into repairing a furnace. Start furnace. Listen to what it is doing. If hear the clunk smell for propane. Listen for the tick tick tick, boom. Test power at point you think the problem is located and follow forward or backward. I find some major advantages with being a female tech. I have smaller hands and arms which makes it easier to get into the tight spaces. The wives feel more comfortable working with a woman. The few times I need a extra hand I can have my husband help. If I come across a strange problem I have help on the RVTAA facebook page.
That’s really inspiring! And you make a great point about some of the advantages of being a female tech - hadn’t even considered those advantages. By the way, furnaces were my favorite, too. (Click-tickticktick-boom 😆)
