  • On our way up to Alaska, we drove through Washington from bottom to top. We enjoyed the astounding amount of agriculture that we drove through. We didn't have time for many extended stops, but we did hit up three out of the way national park sites along the way:
Manhattan Project Site - Reactor B - Plan ahead! If we had more time, we would have booked the bus tour to the historic reactor.
Whitman Mission - We have never been more disappointed in a NPS historical site than here. We won't go back and I sincerely wish they would adjust their narrative at this site.
Grand Coulee Dam on Lake Roosevelt - Can't say enough good things about the visitor center at the dam. We got there only 30 minutes before it closed and the attendant went out of his way to hand some take-home science projects to the kids. So many cool things to see and explore here. Don't forget to burn some calories climbing to the top of the sand pile!
Stick around as we continue north - to Alaska!
