    I followed another of your videos, and I am getting an error in Sonarr saying "You are using docker; download client SABnzbd places downloads in /config/Downloads/complete but this directory does not appear to exist inside the container. Review your remote path mappings and container volume settings" and I cannot figure out why. if I restart my nas as a completely empty nas *there is no data but the parity sync has finished* would I have better luck following this?

    Thanks for making this! I had to update my Plex recently due to a but with the version I had with multi episode files and the updated Plex has a notification that my legacy agent will soon be cut off but I dislike the posters that the new Plex uses so I've been looking into PMM/Kometa but was unsure on whether I would still be able to use the Plex GUI to manage posters but with how thorough you were with your examples I found one that fits my situation/wants perfectly thanks!

    Honestly... Torrents are fine I guess but I think it's worth paying for Usenet and indexers. I have 1gbps ISP and can download episodes at nearly 100MB a second and I don't have to worry about seeding and other crap. No need for VPNs as all data is SSL encrypted.

    You mentioned in the video that you used unRaid with the get_all_posters script. I'm trying to figure out how to schedule the script in unRaid to run every night like you suggested, but I'm not sure how to do that since my host system doesn't have python installed (not sure if that was safe to do so). I'm currently able to run the script through a docker container using code-server, is there some other docker container that would work for this situation? Is there some way to make Kometa do it?

    🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:00 *🎥 If you download and organize your media files manually, you might be missing out on more efficient ways to manage your collection.* 00:36 *💡 Transitioning to automated media management can enhance your viewing experience and simplify sharing with others.* 01:10 *🛠️ Using applications like Sonarr and Radarr can automate and organize your media library, improving efficiency and accessibility.* 01:53 *🌐 This guide assumes basic knowledge of Docker, which is essential for setting up an automated media server.* 03:11 *📦 Docker is a container technology that creates isolated environments for applications, which is useful for running media server applications.* 03:56 *🎯 The video focuses on setting up media server programs like Sonarr, Radarr, AutoScan, and their integration with torrent clients.* 05:12 *🚫 Avoid the practice of manually downloading and organizing files in a "Downloads" folder.* 06:15 *📁 A structured file organization with separate directories for movies and TV shows is recommended for clarity and efficiency.* 07:08 *🎞️ Sonarr and Radarr help automate the process of fetching and organizing media from torrent sites using indexers.* 08:12 *📺 Consider setting up multiple instances of media apps to manage different video qualities, such as HD and 4K.* 10:28 *⚠️ Mixing different video qualities in a 17:00 *🚀 A well-configured system saves time and effort, allowing you to enjoy media without constant manual intervention.* 19:18 *📑 Consistent directory structures and path names across containers are crucial for efficient media management and troubleshooting.* 24:14 *🔗 Mapping paths consistently across containers ensures they communicate effectively without path conflicts or access issues.* 28:26 *🗂️ The presenter organizes their Unraid server using a simple folder structure with a main `/data` directory that includes subfolders for assets, media, and torrents.* 29:21 *🔄 Consistent and well-planned paths in Docker ensure smooth communication between containers by using the same directory structure across all containers.* 30:44 *🎬 Sonarr and Radarr have full access to the media and torrents folders, while the download client only needs access to the torrents folder.* 32:15 *🐧 In Unraid, container paths are on the left, and host paths are on the right, unlike in Linux, where it’s the opposite.* 39:27 *📖 Understanding the concept of consistent paths is crucial before setting up Docker containers for media management.* 41:27 *📈 Radarr monitors movie collections to ensure the best quality versions are always downloaded.* 42:49 *🔍 This guide assumes knowledge of Radarr, including setting up indexers and download clients.* 43:52 *📂 For organization, create folders like `/data/assets`, `/data/media`, and `/data/torrents` to mimic the presenter's setup.* 47:14 *🔄 Organizing folders by media type (e.g., HD and 4K) helps manage quality settings and simplifies sharing with non-technical users.* 48:07 *🏷️ Use naming conventions from Trash Guide for consistent, readable formats that specify quality and media details.* 51:24 *🎥 Two Radarr instances allow for separate monitoring of HD and Ultra HD versions, useful for shared libraries.* 55:42 *🔄 To install a second instance of Radarr, rename the first one and then install the other version from the `hotio` repository.* 56:11 *📦 Different repositories for Radarr offer slightly different versions; `hotio` is recommended for avoiding overly specific path setups.* 57:05 *🛠️ Avoid overly specific path mappings in Docker containers to maintain consistency and simplify management.* 58:14 *🔧 For better consistency, use a repository like `hotio` that doesn't suggest problematic path mappings.* 59:25 *🖧 Create a custom Docker network to make containers think they are on the same network, which simplifies inter-container communication.* 01:01:02 *🧩 Configure Docker containers so they can reference each other using names instead of IP addresses, which is easier to manage.* 01:02:40 *🌐 Set up Radarr to run on different ports for each instance (e.g., 7878 and 7879) to handle different media qualities.* 01:05:35 *📝 Add additional ports to qBittorrent for TCP and UDP to avoid firewall issues and ensure connectivity.* 01:11:12 *🏷️ Ensure that all Docker containers have consistent and well-planned paths to prevent file access issues.* 01:15:34 *🎯 Separate media directories like movies, TV shows, and anime to improve organization and access.* 01:20:32 *📺 Most children's TV shows are not available in 4K, so separate 4K and non-4K libraries as needed.* 01:21:39 *🎌 For anime enthusiasts, consider separate Radarr and Sonarr instances for anime content to manage specific quality profiles and settings.* 01:22:18 *📊 Quality profiles in Sonarr/Radarr define minimum, preferred, and maximum file sizes for different media types to ensure consistent quality.* 01:26:42 *🔖 Tagging helps direct search requests to the appropriate indexers, such as using specific anime indexers for anime content.* 01:28:18 *📥 Set unique downloader categories for each instance of Radarr and Sonarr in qBittorrent to separate media by type (e.g., movies, TV, 4K).* 01:29:59 *🗃️ Downloader categories in qBittorrent help organize downloaded media into specific folders based on content type and quality.* 01:31:26 *🔄 Automatic download management in qBittorrent should be enabled for efficient handling of downloads and organization.* 01:33:03 *📑 Using categories prevents activity cross-referencing between different Radarr/Sonarr instances, keeping logs and processes organized.* 01:35:33 *🎛️ Maintain consistent path mappings across Plex and other containers to ensure all applications access the correct media directories.* 01:36:54 *🧹 Volume mappings ensure persistent data access across containers, allowing for consistent media management despite container changes.* 01:41:15 *🎨 Overseerr is a front-end GUI that simplifies the request process for movies and TV shows, integrating with Radarr and Sonarr instances.* 01:42:35 *📊 When configuring Plex libraries, ensure the library names align with the corresponding folders and maintain consistency for easier management.* 01:46:29 *📂 When setting up Plex libraries, follow Trash Guides recommendations for TVDB settings, enabling intro and credit detection, and preferring local assets.* 01:47:34 *🍿 Anime movies are categorized under general movie libraries, with separate categories for kids' anime, to limit the number of libraries and maintain organization.* 01:50:47 *🔄 Use Overseerr to scan libraries and manage requests efficiently, ensuring movies and shows are not requested twice.* 01:55:05 *🏷️ Setting up multiple Radarr/Sonarr instances with specific quality profiles and tags allows for automated management of different media types.* 01:56:22 *⚙️ Overseerr functions as an automated request handler, mirroring manual processes but with increased efficiency and integration.* 01:59:15 *📡 AutoScan replaces default Plex scanning, offering near real-time file change detection through integration with Sonarr/Radarr.* 02:00:41 *🚀 Disabling Plex's automatic scanning and replacing it with AutoScan enhances performance and reduces scan delays.* 02:01:09 *🔄 AutoScan optimizes file change detection, improving the speed and accuracy of library updates when media changes.* 02:02:31 *🖧 AutoScan uses webhooks to communicate file changes between Plex and Sonarr/Radarr, allowing for seamless updates and notifications.* 02:03:50 *📑 Define `.anchor` files in your media directories for AutoScan to track changes and trigger updates effectively.* 02:05:13 *⚙️ Ensure consistent paths and configurations for AutoScan to function correctly, monitoring directories and updating Plex as needed.* 02:10:12 *🔄 Adding the webhooks port manually in AutoScan's configuration is necessary to facilitate proper communication and updates between applications.* 02:11:47 *🔄 Prowlarr synchronizes indexers across multiple instances of Sonarr and Radarr, eliminating the need for manual entry in each app.* 02:12:44 *📦 Unpackerr automatically extracts RAR files downloaded by Radarr and Sonarr, facilitating seamless content import.* 02:14:48 *🌐 Unpackerr requires all containers to be on the same custom bridge network to simplify referencing by name rather than IP address.* 02:15:48 *⚙️ Multiple instances of Radarr and Sonarr can be set up in Unpackerr by modifying configuration values and adding API keys for each.* 02:20:11 *📚 This guide condenses complex information into an introductory resource, emphasizing the need for further reading and practical application.* 02:20:38 *🔗 So, is your concern that users you're sharing with won't be able to direct play 4K and that's why you have two instances of radarr/sonarr and the corresponding directories? Wouldn't this issue be resolved with GPU transcode? I understand if transcode isn't an option and you want multiple formats so that everything is direct play.

    • @TechTails
      @TechTails 27 дней назад

      @@AidenPryde3025 Hey Aiden, great question! I believe this was actually answered in the video - but maybe not. Yes and no, you're correct (somewhat). You can certainly take the path of relying on GPU transcoding for 4K titles if you want! Though it's like taking a hammer (an ineffective one at that) to a tiny nail of a problem. If that's your approach on things...so be it! But realistically, not many people want to tie up system resources (and remember GPU transcoding is not solely on the GPU without other system overheads) or spend the amount of electricity getting this done. Not to mention the sheer influx of possible transcode requests you may get! Maybe you're a Rockefeller ...but a lot of us are certainly not! Also what would you propose to do for the various levels of 4K? Recall not all 4K is straight 4K. It's also various bitcolor settings in addition to unsupported audio. While Plex now officially supports tone transference, it's often a poor imitator. Did I also forget to mention how absolutely garbage Plex transcodes are? Maybe if you do not care about the quality of remote sessions for your users, it may not matter but for most of us it does. It is far simpler also to have various 4K titles in 1080p than to transcode them in various dirty formats for random users in various configs for various devices. If you have that kind of system to burn (and money) then by all means don't worry about two instances! Also...can I have a spare half million? Thanks 🤣😎👍

      @@TechTails I have a Quadro P400 that can transcode 2 4K streams and it does that while at idle (5-10W), and I bought that for $80 on Ebay five years ago. They are $35 now. Bytemybits did a video where a 12th Gen iGPU was able to do 18 4K transcodes, which is better than an RTX Titan can do and that kind of setup is certainly cheap, effective, and power efficient. You're probably going to spend more on storage with a large library than that. You can even go with W680 if you want ECC on an i5, though I'd avoid a 13th/14th Gen CPU for now. I do wonder if an Intel Arc GPU can do the same, as a low profile A310 can be bought new for $99. While I'm not currently sharing my library as I'm waiting for Unraid 7 to convert my storage to ZFS pools, I don't think the 5 or less people I'd be sharing with would care about Plex transcoding quality, but I'll keep your solution in mind if they do.

    • @TechTails
      @TechTails 23 дня назад

      @@AidenPryde3025 I kind of figured this is what you were probably thinking when you posed the question - and had seen some stats for generic iGPU transcodes that are usually poorly tested with 1 set of data defined rules. The failure of the iGPU/IQS module becomes far too apparent the moment you add proper file and decoder variations, especially when it comes to the way Plex handles it. It was pretty glaringly apparent the question is coming from someone who hasn't actually tested out transcode for multimedia or does not have a large family share to begin with. Also let's not forget these tests dont account for varying network edges...they are literally crunching transcodes to the same network (lol) which is like testing in a vacuum and does not account for Plex or Jellyfin API overhead as I originally stated. That's just not proper benching. It means absolutely nothing for real world serving of transcodes. So to answer it further - while your P400 and IQS can certainly do concurrent transcodes - I stick to the belief its crappy in practice unless again limited use case which you confirmed. Get 18 actual people (or even 8) on that 12th gen and watch how ineffective that actually is in practice. To mention space would be an issue is a little ridiculous. Assuming you have 4K files period, the limiting factor would not be your HD files or nonUHDs, lol. What would actually probably take up a lot more space, bandwidth, and processing (inefficient and I stick by that) is serving a 4K file to a userbase of even 5 to 8 people who may want to use various devices and expecting it to be efficient and space saving. It's a great way to ensure you have a lot of unmanageable crap on your media server folders also it's not just for purposes of storing copies for people that can't stream 4K but for something far more important than that.

    Solid all around video. I've been messing with v6 for sometime now and while it's working great, I've got to say, despite having some really documentation on his website I do find that some of it doesn't exactly make much sense or rather certain things kind of contradict other things. For myself, I just cannot get cross-seed to inject to qbit without sonarr/radarr trying to import the linked file as an "upgrade". I've tried just about every different option mentioned to no avail. As I understand it, I don't want to use flatlinking as I don't use any other 3rd party applications. Have you got any ideas at all?

    • @TechTails
      @TechTails 27 дней назад

      @@ryan9020 hey Ryan! Thanks for the comment. Rather surprised you are having sonarr and radarr pick up all your links. It shouldn't be doing that if your setting are correct and I'm guessing they aren't. Make sure your LinkDir is not the same category as your Arrs import category. My settings can be seen in my video and I never have this behavior. Try joining the cross seed discord for further help so they can check out your config if that doesnt work!

      @@TechTails I appreciate the reply. So yeah, it's a very strange issue. Especially since I've been using v6 since I would say the day it dropped. It was very concerning early Sunday morning when an episode of a very popular series dropped (I won't drop any names of course). Since said episode drops at 3 a.m I was sleeping like a baby. Well, I woke up and while having my morning coffee I noticed a ton of imports by sonarr. To put a number on that, sonarr ending importing it about 400 times (once every 10 or 15 seconds). At the end of the day it's not a major issue as its just importing the same hardlink over and over but still does add some strain to the box! I'll go over everything again, I do appreciate the videos though! Cheers!

    annnnddd I'm immediately lost, is there a tutorial that explains all that beginning stuff, I've followed the guide then I get to "Setting up the initial config file" and at "TESTING THE CONFIG FILE" I get an error message, I've spent a good week trying to figure this out, I feel so dumb. Can someone please help me, it just says "Python312\python.exe: can't find '__main__' module in 'C:\\Users\\alexa\\kometa.py'" at that step. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

    to bad this does nothing, Kometa still does not work. there is a new config file layout. the log should show something when it runs. set it to force run and you will see errors.

      @TechTails I have tried from scratch and it still will not creat collections. Even copying from their wiki it still does not create collections. Let alone any real info on preroll setup other than it's an external file with examples. But does not say how to like that external file to the config file so it gets used.

    The simplest way to solve this with no code changes would be to put the library name in `RESET_LIBRARIES`, turn off `TRACK_URLS` and `TRACK_COMPLETION`, then delete the problematic folders from the asset directory and run the script. You have both those `TRACK` settings enabled, so when you use `RESET_LIBRARIES` the script sees that it has completed those movies and [if you disable only `TRACK_COMPLETION`] it then sees that the URLs of the images have already been downloaded so it does nothing with them. It's behaving as you have told it to. The script will not overwrite an existing image, so you need to delete the "bad" images and with those two settings flipped it will redownload the current art.

    I purchased the icing version of Sweetex not realizing there was a cake and icing version. I honestly had the same questions you answered in this video. After hours of research I came across your video and less the taste testing <smacking> I really enjoyed your video. I don’t blame you for coming back for taste after taste testing, I found myself licking my fingers constantly as well when I first used this product during clean up. I truly dislike buttercream frosting made with shortening despite the heat tolerance advantages. This product helped my decoration hold up extremely well. I live in a high humidity and hot summer location and normally my cakes need to be indoors and transported with caution. Now that I am using the Sweetex icing product my cakes are holdup to the heat and humidity as well as during transportation. Thank you for the clarity and saving me from buying the cake and icing product. ❤

      Lol - I am truly sorry about that part! I didnt' think anyone would REALLY watch the video that much... I would have made it more professional if so...lol xD The smacking was def annoying no question on that! hahaha. I also dislike buttercream frosting from shortening - but I was shocked by how nice it was texturally on the tongue. Most shortening tastes greasy and slick..and has been said to have an almost slight plastic flavor. Thankfully with the proper ratios of flavoring, etc - it seemed to have me very fooled! Even without this* I was fooled and could not pick up any trace of oddness on either. I am VERY glad I could help you from not buying the other one. The reason it's cheaper I believe is because it simply does not have the temperature stability of the "icing only" but more so it truly is for cake-shortening recipes from scratch. Can it make Icing? Sure. I think that's a main reason Sweetex put "Icing" on there to not lose on possible vendor sales. Is it something I think anyone would be happy with in terms of workability, smoothness (at the end of the video I claimed C&I shortening you could get similar smoothness..forgot to say MAYBE?) and moreover textural taste on the tongue? I don't think as much*. May as well pay the bit of extra for the Icing only and buy that! But if you want to formulate for scratch cake recipes using shortening to save on $$$ from using butter in cakes - then you kinda should get both IMO. Also - thank you for adding to the discussion with how it worked for you! It's invaluable for future watchers :).

    I am a little confused, is radarr supposed to show automatically when new higher quality releases are uploaded or do I have to go into every single movie and manually search if there is a higher quality copy?

    • @TechTails
      @TechTails 2 месяца назад

      Did you watch the 2 hour video? Its explained there. But to answer your question simply and quickly: Radarr will autograb the best quality according to the CUSTOM FORMAT RULES and prowlarr priorities you set first. If you force it for all movies that is. Then it will rely on RSS feeds for any other movies. It will upgrade until the set quality profile (BluRay, WEB) is reached for whatever resolution quality you choose (1080p 720p etc). I urge you to watch the other videos

    Its used with some cancer drugs as a iv stabilizer and used for glycerin. As was said, everything in moderation. Its melting point by the way is 100, if youve ever been to Florida, youll no that humidity does matter as it contributes to the "feel like" temperature, which your cake does feel. And please stop the smacking

    Hi,
 Thanks for this epic video !
Comet seems like the appropriate tool to be able to create my own cartoon playlists (as a series of 1 episode of different shows in a row) for my kids to take the time to appreciate the pace of weekly episodes instead of bing watching the whole series of a specific TV show. Concept : - have control on the TV show order (form Sonarr library)
Note : to make things easy, if I want to put 2 episodes of the same TV show, I would suggest to ‘call’ the TV show x2 times (like x2 rows) - chose which TV show will replace a TV show after the last episode of 1 season so the pattern keeps on rolling. Could any body help me bring this concept to life ?
 Thx a lot :)

    • @TechTails
      @TechTails 3 месяца назад

      Hi! Cool concept! Sounds fun to recreate that weekly thing for your kids. But unfortunately the behavior you're describing is not possible with Kometa. Playlists are usually limited as it comes to Plex. You can create playlists sure, but the automation you are describing which replaces it etc with new random episodes isnt much of a thing. Sorry!

    I have tried running grab all posters numerous times and it never grabs all of the asset (Probably missing 20%) s no matter how far back I go (Even 50). Do I need to do a plex dance and start from the beginning for it to work? Do I want to run Grab all posters right away or after my collections have been created? I also have the comet config set asset_directory: config/assets asset_folders: true asset_depth: 2 create_asset_folders: true prioritize_assets: false dimensional_asset_rename: false download_url_assets: true show_missing_season_assets: false show_missing_episode_assets: false show_asset_not_needed: true sync_mode: append. Sorry if this to much. I just really like how grab all posters can organize everything and would love to get it working 100% Thanks for all your help and hard work.

      @@TechTails Figured it out. Everything was set up correctly, I had only run the config once with tagging noHL prior to setting up tags for my trackers so the share limits weren't applying because everything after that was dry runs. Manually tagged a torrent with the correct tag in qbit and it worked perfectly during the dry run. Everything's good now, thanks for the informative video. Can't believe you've only got 600 subs.
