    1/16 inch would be .0625, that is probably the .07 inch difference.

    Uh, the PVC pipe looks like it is painted - a good idea if it is outside in the sun, but wouldn't one need to remove the paint prior to glue up? ie the primer and the glue are designed to weld PVC to PVC - not painted coatings to PVC?

      Excellent question. The PVC paint used on the PVC pipes is a very thin coat and the adhering strength factor of the glue is far exceptional. I think you might be thinking if the paint chips or peels. The glue would not bond correctly and flake. This is not a concern with PVC paint or PVC itself. Flaking is hardly a concern with this. There is definitely no worry here. If you are concerned, you are free to add a coupler if you have the room or strip the existing pipe with sandpaper...but thats exceptionally unecessary. :)
