    I feel like we have 1 million plants in the ground and so many pots. Most in the ground are hooked up to drips, but many of the pots have not been and we have always depended on friends to come over and water while we are gone. I am finally, getting pots hooked up to drip and some of the pots are very small so I’m just using like half gallon emitters on those and some are bubblers which I’m not super crazy about but you can kind of control the output. I’m curious how long do you run your drips to your pots? All of our pots are ornamental plants so a variety of sizes and I can’t imagine running a tiny pot for an hour on a drip. Just curious how long you run your drips to your pots and can that shut off valve be used to just maybe cut back a little bit and just not have it fully open? Thanks a bunch!! 🪴🪴🪴🪴

    I pulled an old 1/4" line adapter out of my 1/2" hose. It broke, leaving an exposed, damaged, leaking, 1/4" line adapter. Couldn't get it out with pliers. I think I have to cut that section out and re-attach 1/2" poly with a coupler. How do I know which coupler to use - they're all different? Thanks for this video!

    I must have done something wrong, my main line (spaghetti tube) runs above the ground at almost the same height as the tap, it has a few inline drippers, and a couple dripper extensions hanging down the line. The 2 hanging ones drip a lot but my end drippes do not drip at all. Is this because of gravity, pulling all water out?

    Great video. Rain Bird recommends that you install the emitter in the 1/2" distribution tubing unless the 1/4" tubing is longer than 5 feet, in which case they recommend that you install it in the 1/4" tubing closer to the plant being watered. Your methods one and two in the video. They don't recommend method three.

    Hallelujah for this video! The overwhelming majority of compost videos talk about how "easy" it is to build compost, except neglect (or choose not) to mention that they are in zones 7 and below. Building compost in zones 8 and beyond is exponentially more complex because "greens" are scarce and moistening is expensive or in some places impossible, as water is of limited availability. Liked and followed.

    Seriously thanks for this.... my foreman had me redo several not so easy to get to emitters today because he said it was wrong and won't put out enough water with the red emitters going straight into the drip tube and running the noodle line out from that. I knew the was I did it was the better way but still had to redo it all anyways.

    Good tip about the tumbler! I was going to get one to replace my in-ground chicken wire one, but it sounds like what I have may already be better than one that hangs above ground. I realize now that they wouldnt get access to the worms and other things that REALLY break the soil down... My biggest issue now is keeping it wet. We have all the water turned off because we are in NORTHERN Nevada, and it freezes... so I guess the compost has free refrigeration during the winter until it can start up again. Not looking forward to it stinking, though I hear that I am doing it wrong if it smells at all.... -_- Hence my video marathon today

    The spaghetti tubing is a game changer for me, and makes so much sense. I did my first drip system in a new garden bed this summer, and ran the half inch poly tubing directly next to the base of each plant, with emiters right next to each root ball. This video makes me want to rip it all up before the plants fill in, so I can route the poly in a more accessible way and use the spaghetti tubing to take the water where I need it. That'll be a nice winter project if I get bothered enough about my setup, now that I know what the spaghetti tubing is for. Also the valves!

    I moved into a new construction and they had installed the drip emitters using the least preferred method. Instead of using different color emitters, they used 3 red for trees. I am going to install a new zone, how deep does the 1/2 inch line has to be buried in the Phoenix area?

  • @salvaged_wretch
    @salvaged_wretch 8 месяцев назад

    Nicely done. I really appreciate this explanation. Couldn’t you use the emitter alone ? I mean, is the spaghetti setup the only way ?? Seems unnecessary unless there’s a plant that’s a bit a way from the tube right ??? Thanks again
