Great job explaining and keeping focussed. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very helpful.
Hello, are you still going to come out with videos for gardening basics? Also very good videos by the way.
Hey Felix, I've actually been getting the Itch to start making videos again so I think in the coming months you'll start to see more from me on this channel. In the meantime you can check out the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona's youtube channel where i'll be posting some powerpoint workshop presentations next month. Happy Gardening!
if i connected the pump directly to the irrigation system, would the pressure regulator be enough to avoid the excess water pressure on the irrigation tubing or not?
yes, you can connect the irrigation line to a pump as long as there is a pressure regulator installed. I have a large rain water cistern that uses a pump and we use the same exact type of set up I recommend here.
Your videos are very informative...thank you! We have a home in Cottonwood with an old drip irrigation system and would like to have someone give us an estimate to upgrade. Can you recommend someone in Yavapai County area?
Sorry I don't know anyone up there, I might suggest talking to your neighbors or find someone in your area that has a nice garden that you like and ask if they have someone they could refer. Good luck!
I have 7 garden beds each is about 20 ft long by 3ft wide, some bed will have 1 or 2 water lines depending on what I will be growing...so which one will work better for me, drip or tape? Also, is it better to run the water line UNDER or OVER the landscape fabric? I have seen people run it under but my concern is that I can't see or check that line if tuck under. So what would be your recommendation? Thank you...great video.
I would check out our video on the differences between drip line and drip tape and that might help you make a decision. If it were me I would run under the fabric or mulch you are using. Run the system when it is very quiet and you can listen for leaks. I find 90% of the leaks in my garden by listening for them. Good luck!
@@SouthwestVictoryGardens Thank you.
As far as those pressure regulators go, what psi do you recommend dropping down to?
Most irrigation components are designed to work at 20-40psi, with 30 psi being the most common.
I have 40 fruit trees in my back yard I'd like to put a drip system on. I'll need to run about 250ft of blank line to reach them all. My question is, how many 1 gph drips can I run at one time? I have about 65lbs of pressure on my faucet. Any help would be appreciated.
Most drip systems with 1/2" poly tubing and pressure compensating emitters can run about 300' of tubing with about 180-200 gallons of emitters total, so you could run about 4-5 gallons to each of your trees without losing too much pressure. Good Luck!
