A fuel pump failed on me at the end of 10.0 quarter mile index class (luckily). So I change out the failed pump, it has 2 fuel pumps, and go over my Alloyworks surge tank.

Accidently chirped the tires in 2nd gear during the burnout, which is a huge no no, and broke/rolled the sprag in the TH400 transmission. I take the transmission out and apart and inspect the damage.

Had to make some modification to our Chap alternator bracket, it kept wanting to fling the belt, and we are having some coolant temp issues because the 1400 CFM 16" fan just is not enough to keep the car cool, which I did not think it would.

Tossed in a little before video of it at the track with the cam/intake 305 Gen 1 SBC, then he swaps it for the 5.3 and we tune on it some to get it to idle. He had originally said he was going to do a naturally aspirated build but I think he changed his mind and now I think he is taking it to a shop to get twin turbos put on it.

Just buttoning up a few things on our 6.0 swap in the 1980 Trans Am. I put the new radiator in (we needed a less wide radiator after placing the turbo in the head light hole). I run hoses to the radiator and the steam port hose from the heads. I mount the mac valves and install the wastegate pressure sensor in the wastegate. I route the hoses for the mac valves and wastegates.

    Ive did my burnout in my th400 in 1-2 only for over a decade and skirppin the tires every time, how i know tires are ready. Ive NEVER blown a sprag doing that. And Ive never heard of that either, crazy. /shrug

    So you use tge nitrous from the starting line? As soon as you release your line lock your nitrous starts? Also Is your car automatic? Mines a 6 speed, so I want nitrous to stop between shifts. What are you running for retard as well as shot of spray? I'm currently installing same set ups

    Is there 3 pins or 1 pin on the new sensor? I can see just one wire going to it and the same on mine. Putting a 4th gen camaro together myself

      If I remember correctly it had 1 wire going to it but was a 3 pin sensor.

    Welp I’m stuck in a sucky spot. Got the right socket, got the right setup to wrench it out and ya know what? Some ding dong decided to yank the whole sensor way to close to the block to the point I can’t put the socket on it. I tried removing the valve cover to get more room but the engine bolt stopped me from going further. Couldn’t also push the sensor back out to where it should be. I know there’s what looks to be a EGR valve right above the sensor on the back covering the bolt to turn the sensor from the block. How do I go about taking just that off?

      It just has a couple of bolts holding the EGR on. I always take that stuff off and put the EGR plates on the back and tune out EGR.

      What size wrench or socket do I need to use to get it off? I tried the switch socket and it’s too short, also looked up about it and only found that using a 1/2 drive 1-16th regular socket might work.

    I have the tick performance oil drive gear housing on the stock gear . I can get it in but it’s not seating all the way .

      @joshuarickerson7893 it will only line up with the oil pump drive 2 ways, turn motor over with light pressure on the gear, it will fall into place when the oil pump drive lines up with it.

      I’ll give it a try . If the drive fails on the slot but the housing is not seating all the way does that mean the gears are not in sync

      @@joshuarickerson7893 the gear will sync a few different ways but that slot will only go in 2 ways, they never drop straight in unless you are really lucky, I always have to turn the motor over a little to get them to drop all the way down

    Welp some idiot decided to wrench the oil pressure sensor on mine too close to the head bolt and the vacuum pump making it impossible to get a socket it on it. I have to remove the vacuum pump and then twist the whole sensor to get to it.

      if you are using 1 mac valve for the top of the wastegate then that should be increase

      It ran for a while before I noticed it (weeks). And I just changed the oil, as long as the issue is fixed the rest will evaporate.

      @@Aiden2447 We refreshed the engine later and the bearings where fine. We just changed the oil which got most of the water out and from the engine temps the rest evaporated and all was fine and like I said we drove and raced it with water in the oil.

      @T.JBoydRacing Heater hoses are not the issue, I assure you. No way a 1400 CFM fan will keep that engine cool. I discussed blocking the heater hoses and the work around for that a few videos ago and that information is spot on, gauranteed.

      The SBC had 2 fans on it, they where both 1400 CFM for a total of 2800 CFM. V8 engines need around 3000 CFM. We could only fit one of those fans on the new radiator so it only has 1400 CFM, I did not think that would be enough BUT this is a double pass radiator so I thought I would try anyway. My 5.3 has two 2000 CFM for a total of 4000 CFM. It stays cool no matter what. We ordered a single 3000 CFM fan for this one, I am sure that will fix the issue.

    There is an oil galley bypass plug on the back side of the motor. Sometimes, the o-rings in it go bad. That could drop your oil pressure as well. Have you checked that?

      I did not, now that I think about it, it only does it under WOT under boost. I got the catch on it now, maybe too much pressure was getting in crank case, and I changed the seal on the oil pick up, the one that came with the pan was not true round, it was oblong. Going to test those changes this weekend.

    If it were mine I would pull the filter off and check for any glitter(cut it open if you can). It could even be the pressure relief valve on the oil pump sticking from foreign material or carbon deposits. I can’t remember if you pulled the oil pump apart before you installed it or not.

    That is a bypass port as motor warms up surculate just in the motor when it gets up to temp thermostat closes pass opens to surculate threw radiator

      @@CarportGarageDragRacing sorry I meant trans brake button. Essentially I am trying to add my 2 step to my trans brake button but my trans brake is 12v and my 2 step is ground activated. I can’t ground activate the SSR because it stays positive once I release the button. It kills the 2 step but the trans brake is still active.

      @T.JBoydRacing you can tune it for any pressure you want but you don't want to go too low. Most injectors are rated at 39-43 psi
