Cyber Chase and Alien Invaders were both super boring to me as a kid but Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost are certified ‘Hood Classics.

I always liked Cyber Chase, not for the content but for the idea. Shaggy is in the red shirt from 13 ghosts, so what if 13 ghosts is "The Shaggy Levels" based what happened in The Witches' Ghost.

If I could add a change to Cyber Chase to make it fit better with the other ones being real. They could keep Baseball guy as the creator of the virus but it quickly went rogue and became dangerous. He kept secret that he created the virus because no one got hurt but when the gang got digitized. He would've outed himself because the virus is growing out of hand. This change would also make it so that the virus could run machines in the real world and needs a way to escape the network, making it similar to the Ben drowned creepypasta. They also should've digitized only one member first and the rest of the gang would jump in to rescue them. That would show the bond that the group has with one another.

Many current script writers, directors, and producers are illiterate; the producers will buy the books and never read source material. You would be surprised by how many writers don't actually read books. The filmmakers who made originals were literate people who were actually familiar with horror literature. Horror in all forms of media is considered ghetto. This is why a lot of horror media is labeled thriller. You have many commentators who talk about thrillers and slashers who don't know about Giallo or the influence it had on slashers because these filmmakers not only read books; they watched foreign films and even did other things and were influenced by other things beyond other horror movies. This is one of many reasons why everything today is so homogenized and bland; everyone is influenced by the same things.

Look who made the originals and involved all the people who made the originals were the creators of the material so there was something personal about it.

This was the second series of movies. I know people hate Scrappy Doo, but he Scooby, and Shaggy had a trilogy of their own. Sucks only Ghoul School was good though. As for favorite there is three. The Original, the Scrappy Doo Era, and the Zombie Island/Witches Ghost versions of those movies.

The dubs done by Manga UK in the 90s despite being done by American ex pats are very British in tone I would say. Swearing put in every chance and other terms. This is one dub I missed somehow despite being into anime at the time. In the 90s anime vhs tapes were in the top ten selling videos in the uk for a period of time. This includes live action films.

I find it hilarious how hard they tried to sexualize some of the characters in Death On The Nile given that how in the novel Christie portrays Salome Otterbourne as a failing novel is who specializes in trashy romantic novels.

David Suchet ís the ultimate Poirot, but honestly, Peter Ustinov deserves some credit too. I think he did amazing in Death on the Nile and the 1978 adaptation might be my favourite poirot adaptation overall (possible unpopular opinion, I know). Mostly because it stands well on it's own. As you mentioned: Suchet's characterisation of Poirot is so strong in the long run over the series, but Ustinov does a great job as a standalone portrayal of the character.

What I find most astonishing is that one would think that this kind of British dub would tend to be _more_ prudish than the original source material, but on the contrary it's sometimes the other way around. For example in one scene Ataru says to Lum "get off my futon!" in the original Japanese, while in the British dub he says "I don't want to sleep with you!"

A season 2 was planned but it didn't get picked up again due to poor ratings which annoyingly was down to Channel 4 putting it on at something like 23:30 on a Wednesday. Whoever took that decision I can only hope took a series of screwdrivers to the torso. Terrortome is excellent and I am about to start Incarcerat soon.

Jackie Chan was a terrible example to use as Cantonese word play does NOT translate well into English. Visual gags are universal, yes, but a lot of the movies Jackie was in relied on figures of speech, puns and jokes that would only make sense in Cantonese.
